To allow our amazing staff to spend time with family, we will be closed all day on Thanksgiving. We will be back in for normal hours on Friday.

We recommend Royal Vista Veterinary Specialists, 4 Seasons, and VCA VSNC as the closest emergency practices if you need help urgently.

On this Veterans Day, we honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication. At Pickaroon Animal Hospital, we also remember the role that animals have played in comforting and supporting our veterans over the years, from war zones to homecomings. To all our veterans, both human and animal, thank you for your service. We are forever grateful. 🇺🇸

ETA: kitty is home

Hello all!!

We had this adorable kitten brought in by some wonderful clients who found her on their property. She was trying to hang with a not so friendly dog so definitely needs to be an inside cat as she will get herself into trouble from lack of fear.

We are currently calling her Maple (as in Maple leaf) but my daughter wants me to mention that Clementine would be a great name as well.

She is about 12 weeks old (currently 3.4 #). She has been dewormed. Spayed. Given 1 set of vaccines (will need another in a month), FeLV/FIV tested negative and now has a fancy new HomeAgain TEMPSCAN microchip.

She seems to love all she meets (including dogs and kids though we have not tested other cats) and her motor never stops. She loves belly rubs and making air biscuits.

None of us can take this sweetie home right now but would love to get her to a client so we can still watch her grow. There is an adoption fee to help cover everything we have done so far.

Good thoughts and prayers needed for my Journey girl. She is having an emergency spay today due to developing Pyometra- a deadly uterine condition caused usually by hormonal changes. She developed this over her spring breeding in May which was treated successfully. I thought and was hopeful at that time it was a one time fluke, as her first couple cycles and first breeding went great!Now that her cycle is ramping up again and she is hormonal, it’s happening again and this time made her very sick. In her best interest and to save her life, she will be spayed today and retired from breeding as her body just can’t handle the hormone shift and I never want her to go through this again.

Thankful for our amazing vet for squeezing her in today and rearranging their afternoon to take care of the procedure Pickaroon Animal Hospital.

Send her all the healing thoughts 🙏🏻🥹❤️

Dr Patterson will be out of town July 31st-Aug 4th at a Veterinary Conference.

Staff will be in the office filling medications and doing technician appointments as needed July 31st - Aug 2nd. If you need additional help during this time, we will be sending pets to Full Circle Veterinary Care (9705875140) and Royal Vista Vet Specialist (9708255975) for emergency needs.

Linus decided that he wanted to shadow Mavis today since he was in to have his ears hematomas repaired. It definitely helped him open up! He worked on social skills and walking on a leash as well as snuggling with surgery patients. Hopefully he finds a home with a friend because this sweetie would really love one.

Digi Pix Signs to the rescue!!! The first temporary sign our wonderful bank gave us broke in the wind. When they sent the replacement, it didnt fit the frame we had saved. The amazing guys a Digi-Pix trimmed the new sign beautifully and put it in the frame for us. So thankful to have them as neighbors.
