Grooming is an essential part of pet care that every owner should take seriously! Here are three quick tips for keeping your dog looking their best:

🐕Brush their coat regularly to remove loose hair, prevent matting, and distribute natural oils for a healthy, shiny coat. Different breeds have different grooming needs, so make sure to use the right brush for your dog's coat type.

💅🏽Keep your pup's nails trimmed to a comfortable length. Long nails can cause discomfort and even lead to health issues. Use a dog-specific nail clipper and be careful not to cut into the quick, which can cause pain and bleeding.

👂🏽Check and clean your dog's ears regularly to prevent infections. Use a gentle ear cleaning solution and cotton balls, avoiding deep insertion into the ear canal. If you notice redness, swelling, or an unusual odor, consult your vet.

🕶 Summer Pet Care Tip: If you've ever grown your hair out, you know that long hair doesn't make the summer heat any easier to deal with. But with pets, it isn't quite the same deal. The layers in a dog's coat actually protect them from overheating and sunburn. While you can trim your pup's hair, you should never shave them. The same goes for cats- instead of a haircut, try brushing them more often than normal to avoid the problems associated with hot summer days.

Summer break is heating up! As you get ready for your July trips, be sure things are safe at home while you're gone. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for vacation:
-Check all windows and doors. Make sure all latches work properly and no windows are left unlocked.
-Take out the trash. Nothing's worse than getting home to rotten smells!
-Ask a neighbor to pick up your mail or packages left at the doorstep.
-Arrange for pet care! Instead of shipping your furry friends off to a boarding facility, schedule one of our pet sitters to visit throughout the day.
