Use my knowledge/skills/touch to help improve a dog’s health/happiness/general well-being, which in turn can strengthen and deepen their connections to their human companions. Benefits include:

⚠️☢️Spring doggy hazards to watch out for:

•Pesticides and herbicides: C’mon people! Why is this still a thing? We KNOW it causes cancer in US and our pets.*** ‼️
•Cocoa based garden soil/ mulch contains theobromine which poses a risk.
•Rattlesnakes: most likely to bite in spring as they are coming out of hibernation. *Find out what vet offices keep anti-venom in stock when you’re hiking in the foothills! 🐍
•Wasps and bees: not normally an emergency, but veterinary help may be needed if your dog swallows one of these spicy sky raisins or they get stung in the mouth, neck or are allergic. 🐝
•Some of our beautiful spring blooms are super toxic to our dogs causing anything from nausea to death! 🌷
•Chocolate and candy during the spring holidays can lead to ER visits. 🍫
•Hot cross buns: grapes, raisins, currants and sultanas, as well as foods that contain them are highly toxic and sometimes fatal to dogs!
•Spring onions: can cause stomach irritation and lead to red blood cell damage and anemia. 🧅

Spring 🌷has sprung which = hiking 🥾season is among us.

There are a lot of “weekend warriors” out there due to busy work schedules Mon.-Fri., but infrequent and strenuous exercise can put your dogs joint health at risk. *Proper conditioning is important.*
-
Some tips to keep in mind so you and your dog can play safely all weekend long:
•Start with short hikes (NOT a 5-6 miler!)
•Slowly build your way up to longer hikes.
•Start with mild inclines and work your way up to steeper/ rockier climbs.
•Let your dog tell you how much exercise is too much. Ideally, they should be back to their own selves the next day (happy and active). If your dog appears to be wiped out well into the next day and is reluctant to exercise or play, you may have pushed them a little too much.

***Massage is great not only for exercise recovery for your dog, but also injury prevention.***

They are a super rare Japanese hunting breed.

This is Goji. He’s working on his stranger danger through massage and to also help get him used to be handled better so we can alleviate some pain from a soft tissue injury.

2025! New year. Same us—- but figured I should re-introduce myself:
I’m Gretchen 👋🏻 & this is my rescue dog/ LOML, Hatch 🐾. I am a Certified Small Animal Massage Therapist & Veterinary C*nnabis Guide. I offer mobile dog massage, CBD consults & other holistic modalities.

I started ‘the knotty k9’ just over 3 yrs. ago 😅 to honor the life of my 3-legged best friend, Mogul. Mogul was a difficult dog behaviorally & physically. When he was diagnosed w/ bone cancer I opted to have his leg amputated to remove the pain to keep him happier & give him the best quality of life I could for the remainder of his days. This journey of ours opened my eyes to the world of holistic dog care—- treating the “whole” (mind & body) vs. just treating the symptoms or individual parts. (When combined, Eastern & Western medicine complement each other & can treat conditions more effectively).
When Mogul left his earthly body I decided to change careers & throw myself into small animal massage school. I haven’t looked back since! 😃
My mission is to use my knowledge, skills & touch to help improve your dogs health, happiness & well-being (which in turn can strengthen/ deepen their connection with YOU). I am mobile to make your life easier & your dog most comfortable.
I have so LOVED getting to know you & your furry family members these past few years. Thank you for supporting my small biz dream thus far. I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for us & to get to work w/ more of you & your pooches! 💗
