Use my knowledge/skills/touch to help improve a dog’s health/happiness/general well-being, which in turn can strengthen and deepen their connections to their human companions. Benefits include:

- Pain relief through endorphin release

⚠️Halloween Dangers for our furry family members:

•Chocolate: contains a chemical called theobromine, which can be poisonous to dogs, cats, rodents and rabbits. The darker the chocolate, the more theobromine it contains!🍫

•Sweets: in large quantities may cause pancreatitis.

•Sugar-free sweets: can contain artificial sweeteners [i.e.: xylitol / “birch sugar”] that can cause liver failure! ‼️

•Choking risks: decorations, costumes and wrappers.

•Carved pumpkins:🎃 keep all candles and candle-lit pumpkins away as they could burn your dog or start a fire🔥!

•Trick-or-treaters: frequent calls to the door can cause anxiety or stress. Costumes can be scary. Dogs can bolt when opening the door. Keep them in a quiet, safe place and consider leaving them home when trick-or-treating / walking them at a different hour. *Make sure microchips and tags are up-to-date.*

October = Pitbull Awareness Month!
-
This was created to assist in increasing awareness/ the truth about pitties. Did U know they were once viewed as a representation of American pride? Their loyalty, strength & desire to please makes them wonderful service/ therapy dogs & family companions. Sadly these traits have been misused by people, leading to criticism of the entire breed throughout time. It’s no secret pitbulls and pit-mixes are at the core of BSL, discrimination & negative bias among the nation’s media/ gov’t. (Leading to an overwhelmingly large amnt. of the general public still being misinformed). Did you know “pitbull” isn’t an official breed? It refers to multiple other block-headed breeds (i.e.: American staffordshire terrier, American pitbull terrier, American Bully & Staffordshire bull terrier to name some).

Fun facts:
•1944- became the nat’l mascot of the U.S. earning the moniker “America’s dog”.
•1980- major resurgence in dog fighting, hurting pitbull image. Media outlets created an air of terror around breed, leading to many being discarded & filling shelters at an alarming rate.
•2007- Michael Vick’s Bad Newz Kennels raided. For 1st time, these dogs were able to be seen as individuals. Groups like Bad Rap & Best Friends Animal Society took a chance on these dogs and found most were able to be placed in foster care or adopted! If THEY could be rehabilitated, what ab the others just dealt a bad hand?!
•today- finally receiving more positive attention due to advocacy + education. But there’s still MUCH to be done. We can all do our part by correcting false info/ being responsible dog guardians to restore their reputation as the great American icon.

March 3 is Internat’l Tri[pawd] Day!! 3/3-A day near and dear to my heart💗. Today honors animal amputees and the people that care for them! Today we celebrate how resilient animals are, whether they were born with a limb difference or had to undergo amputation for a specific reason. Amputation is sometimes the best way to improve an animals quality of life of those that are affected by certain cancers, injuries, or congenital issues. #4LegsAreOverRated Throwback to almost 2 years ago when my Mogul became an amputee due to bone cancer.
