Meet Bluey! Bluey came in with a small bite wound on the face that had become infected. Dog bite wounds can vary in severity, from superficial scratches to deep tissue damage. We assessed the extent of the wound, cleaned it thoroughly to prevent further infection, and provided appropriate medical attention to ensure proper healing and minimize complications. We decided to provide Bluey with a medication bag featuring a drawing of Bluey from the animation series to take home.

Roush, an employee's pet, was brought to our hospital due to bloat, vomiting, and lethargy. At the time, the owner was unaware that Roush had helped himself to a 40lb bag of dog food and had ingested half of it, leading to a diagnosis of food bloat. Food bloat occurs when a dog consumes too much food in a short period, causing their stomach to fill with air and food, leading to enlargement and abdominal pain. RiNoVet induced vomiting, and administered subcutaneous fluids, and Roush started feeling better shortly after. Yes, even employee pets can get themselves into trouble.
