Today, as we gather to celebrate and give thanks, we want to remind you that we're open and here for your furry family members in case of an emergency. 🏥❤️

Thanksgiving can be a time of fun for pets, but it can also pose some risks. Here's a quick guide to keep your pets safe while they enjoy the festivities with you:

🦃 Safe Treats for Pets:

Plain, cooked turkey (no skin, bones, or seasoning).
Plain veggies like carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes.
A small serving of mashed potatoes (no butter, garlic, or onion).

🚫 What to Avoid:

Turkey bones and fatty skin (choking hazard & risk of pancreatitis).
Stuffing (often contains onion, garlic, and spices toxic to pets).
Desserts, especially those with chocolate, xylitol, or raisins.
Alcohol and caffeine – these are highly toxic!

Halloween is fun, but it can be risky for pets! Here are some quick tips to keep your furry friends safe:

Keep Candy Out of Reach: Chocolate and xylitol (found in sugar-free treats) are toxic to pets.

Choose Comfortable Costumes: If dressing up your pet, ensure the costume is comfortable, non-restrictive, and free of small, chewable parts. A festive bandana works too!

We had an absolute blast attending the first annual Denver Dog Days this weekend! 🐾 It was a day full of wagging tails, lots of cuddles, and some of the cutest costumes we’ve ever seen! 🎃🐕 From superheroes to silly hats, the creativity was off the charts.

We loved meeting all of you and your adorable pups, handing out delicious pup cups, and being part of this fun community event. It was great to see so many happy dogs and their amazing owners! 🐶💙

Say hello to Ivy, the sweetest Sphynx with the fiercest RBF (Resting Beautiful Face 😉). Ivy came to us with a corneal ulcer, but despite her tough look, she was an absolute cuddle bug throughout her treatment! 💙🐱

Corneal ulcers in pets can be painful and require quick attention. If you notice your cat squinting, pawing at their eyes, or excessive tearing, it might be a sign of an eye issue that needs treatment.

We’re happy to report that Ivy is healing well and still stealing hearts with her adorable snuggles! 🥰 We’re always here, 24/7, to make sure your pets get the care they need, no matter how tough they look! 🐾

Cinderella, a sweet rescued kitten, recently visited us at RiNoVet Animal Emergency Care with a case of Upper Respiratory Infection (URI). Thanks to our amazing team and her strong spirit, Cinderella is on her way to feeling better!

🐾 What is a URI? 🐾 URIs are common in cats, especially kittens and rescues. These infections can cause symptoms like:

Sneezing and coughing
Nasal discharge
Watery eyes
Reduced appetite
Lethargy

Poor Ruby had been experiencing multiple episodes of vomiting and loss of appetite, leaving her family worried. After being hospitalized and receiving around-the-clock care from our team, we're thrilled to share that Ruby is feeling much better! 🩺💕

Her liver values were carefully monitored, and with lots of love and medical attention, Ruby’s symptoms have resolved. She’s back to her playful puppy self, bringing endless joy to everyone around her. 🐶❤️
