We ain’t here to judge. Or shame. Or debate. Or argue. We are here to help you and your dog find more joy, creativity, and fun in your training journey; but also in your daily lives together! Because life is better with friends and dogs are the best of them! #morejoy #morecreative #morefun #positivereinforcementdogtraining #makeitfun
While all these things may be very true 😂, I still think dogs are the perfect soul mates and Valentine’s! 🐾 💜 🐕 💙 🐩 ♥️ 🐶
It’s called Sensory Overload. There are too many things all going on at the same time and our dogs having trouble filtering, processing, and prioritizing. So the next time your dog seems to be ignoring you or being stubborn, stop and take a moment to look at your surroundings. What environment are you in? What activity is your dog currently doing? Are you being realistic with your expectations of your dog? Is it noisey? Are there lots of smells? Is there a lot of activity? Is your dog worried about something? Is your dog excited about something? Our dogs want to work with us and cooperate with us. It’s just difficult for them to do sometimes.
Age is important! When raising dogs, we have to consider the critical developmental stages of Puppy and Adolescent. This is when the most growth and change is happening in their bodies and brains. This is also the time where we are tasked with teaching them so many things; like how to successfully navigate and be a dog in a human centered world.Sometimes the expectations are just too much for their little brains and they get confused and overwhelmed. Sometimes being independent and interacting with and experiencing the world in ways that make sense to them is more important than listening to a humans directions and requests. Practice having patience and grace with yourself and dog during these time periods. It’s tricky and challenging for both ends of the leash 🩷🩷🩷#positivereinforcementdogtraining #puppystuff #dogstuff
Welcome to 7 Days of Pawsitive Thoughts for Dog Parents: DAY 7Today is about ⭐️ KINDNESS & COMPASSION ⭐️ Do not confuse being kind, compassionate, and gentle towards your dog as being weak. Many training methods rely on force, fear, intimidation, and techniques to make the human the “dominant” or “alpha”. None of that is needed. You can be kind. You can be compassionate. You can be gentle. It’s not a battle of who is the stronger one. Your strength is in your ability to be partners and work together 💪 🐾 💕
Welcome to 7 Days of Pawsitive Thoughts for Dog Parents: DAY 6 Today is about 💪 TEAMWORK 💪Neither one of you has to loose in order for the other to win. You are TEAMMATES. Not opponents. We can often get tripped up in working in opposition with our dogs instead of working together. We have to cooperate. We have to cooperate. Otherwise it doesn’t work very well.
LWelcome to 7 Days of Pawsitive Thoughts for Dog Parents: DAY 5 🔥 THE POWER OF THE WORD “YET” 🔥 The word yet will change your life. I don’t know how to do that…yet. That doesn’t seem possible…yet. Adding the word yet can help you see your capacity and possibility for improvement and growth. Thinking you can grow can allow growth to happen 🌱
Welcome to Pawsitive Thoughts for Dog Parents: DAY 3
Todayis about 🐾 PATIENCE 🐾
You don’t have to BE a patient person, but you can DO patient things. Don’t get caught up in the mind trap that if you aren’t a patient person, you and your dog won’t be successful. Patience is a skill and mindset that has to be cultivated and practiced and requires….well….patience. What are some examples of doing patient things with your dog?
-Going slow-Lowering your expectations -Doing shorter sessions-Providing more breaks during training -Using more positive reinforcement and encouragement -being a partner instead of a boss

Today is about 🌱 GROWTH 🌱
Dogs grow when their people grow ❤️
What does it mean to grow as a person? To develop through life experiences, emotional maturity, to actively develop and improve yourself, a continuous journey of self-discovery and improvement.
Welcome to Pawsitive Thoughts for Dog Parents: DAY 1
Today is about ✨ CONNECTION ✨
“Connection is why we’re here. It is what gives meaning and purpose to our lives” ~ Brene Brown
Connection: a meaningful relationship built of mutual trust, respect, understanding, and love.
Goodbye ‘24, Hello ‘25!
Leaving an old year and entering a new year with a heart full of gratitude and love! ❤️💜🩷💚
So close, yet so far!
Goals and objectives don’t always line up…..And you know what? That’s okay! Learn to laugh with your dog and embrace their silliness and gooberness 😂❤️
