So much gratitude to the Sunnyside community for coming to our plant sale. Beautiful weather and so wonderful to see familiar and new faces. Can’t wait to see everyone at the plant sale tomorrow! We will also have on offer some medicinal herbs, winter greens, and more from our friends at Frontline Farming FLF. A portion of our sales will support their important food justice, access and sovereignty work.

This year we’ve dug into our tomato seed archives to bring you some rare, beautiful and tasty tomato plants. Green (when ripe), yellow, orange, pink, purple and striped. A variety of shapes and sizes that have been adapted to grow in this region. Would love to see you on Saturday!

Blessed to have a crew from out to Happiness Gardens to finish the 2024 tomato planting. Santos, Caroline, and Lee plugged the last babies into the ground. And now we wait (and w**d and trellis). Grateful to have such a supportive farm community to lean on. Here’s to a fruitful 2024 season to all!

2024 Plant Sale! Bring your own plant starts to swap and/or buy this year’s summer garden veggie, herb, and flower starts from us & . Jon will be providing his legacy tomato starts as well as bringing in some additional varieties from MASA.

First off - we just want to thank you for supporting your local neighborhood farm. Your support speaks volumes to the needs of our local food market in the economy and world we find ourselves in the early 2020 decade.

It is with heavy hearts and glass half full optimism that we announce Steven and his husband Charlie (who you might have seen bopping around every now and then with their pups Owen and Jack) will be selling their home. Their home has generously doubled as the Sunnyside Headquarters since day one - where you have visited, bought our produce or flowers from, perhaps peered into the fish pond, and likely was lovingly barked at through the fence by protective Owen.

Steven would like to sell to an individual or an organization who wants to keep utilizing and building upon the space as an urban farm. The main house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms while the 1/4 acre has been updated with a refrigeration/germination rooms, sink and kitchen / wash stations inside, indoor and outdoor work stations, a greenhouse, a high tunnel, Koi pond, and 1500 square feet of well tended to garden space. This land has been cultivated with an immense amount of intentionality and love.

We wanted you to be the first to know, so you won’t find an open real estate listing just yet. We will send out a link as soon as it’s listed.

Secondly, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has come to the farm stand over the past four seasons. It has been a pleasure to grow food for our neighborhood and sell it from the driveway. To build relationships with you and see your kids or pets grow older every year has been priceless and meaningful to us.
Honestly - words will never do our gratitude justice.

Obviously this means we all will be shifting gears as a farming team and will be in touch with more details soon. We won’t be gone forever! We still have the alley plot and our other sister plots. It’s just a matter of determining the smartest and most impactful way forward. Please stay tuned.

CALL FOR LEAVES
Got leaves you don't need?
Please bring them to us!

Preferences:
- Paper lawn bags
(we'll take plastic, but prefer the paper bags if possible)
- No pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides
(no sprays)
- No trash
- No animal f***s (this one is very, very important)

Self drop leaves in our alley plot any time:
1. Enter the alley between Vallejo and Tejon on 45th Ave.
2. Drop your bags across the fence anywhere on the west side (north/south alley side of the plot) - please do not leave your leaves in the alley, ensure they are inside the fenced area.

The farm stand will be open this weekend on Saturday June 3rd 9am - 1pm.

We have some special, very limited, offerings this weekend:
- Herbs
- Arugula
- Garlic scapes!
- Bread from Spruce House
- Mushrooms from High Balsam
- A select few tomato plants for your garden
- Eggs and duck eggs from Colorado Wise Acres Farm

In addition to some lovely surprise scallions and pac choi from 🌱🌈
