Say hello to Canela.
This sweet girl came to us after a shelter called and asked if we had room for her.
She bit someone who was trying to give her a kiss on the mouth.
Little did they know she has a very bad fracture on her molar which is causing her pain. We think that they must have grabbed her on the side of the mouth with the fracture and caused a pain reaction.
She is a sweet Doxie that warms up to you and becomes your best friend.
She is scheduled for a dental this week so she can live pain free without the bad tooth.🦷

We will begin taking applications on her as soon as she recovers from her dental. We will keep you updated.

Please welcome Peanut.
He is a Doxie want a be that came to us when his elderly owner could no longer care for him.
He doesn’t look much like a dachshund, but we couldn’t say no to when asked if we could help him find a new forever home.

He is up-to-date on all his shots, just received a dental, microchip, heartworm negative. He around 10 years old. Here’s what his Foster has to say about him .
Peanut is a delightful little furball who we estimate to be about ten years old. This scruffy sweetheart is the perfect blend of mellow and friendly, making him an ideal companion for any home. Peanut is a quiet pup who rarely barks and is fully potty trained. He adores snuggles and is always up for a cuddle session.

He is slightly hard of hearing, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying life to the fullest. Peanut loves exploring the yard, being outdoors, and going for walks. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys being around people, often just content to be near you. He’s a low-maintenance, easy-going pup who seamlessly fits into any routine.

Poor Coco, a doughnut for “3” very long weeks BUT now it comes off!  She has had 3 dental cleanings, a fatty tumor removed and a special surgery to close her 2 fistulas.  It didn’t even bother her at all post surgeries.  She has been a happy tail wagging girl who loves to play with her younger foster dogs.  She’s a great dog!
A huge thanks to Dr Skarie at Hess Ridge Animal Hospital for helping us get her back to a healthy mouth!!!
If you live near Parker we HIGHLY recommend this clinic.
They are the absolute best!!!!

Ruby has had her dental and will get her recheck on the 28th.
We will begin taking applications on her starting the 29th after she gets ok from Dr Skarie.
She is UTD on all her vaccinations , microchipped, and just had a dental.
She will need a home with a yard, and someone who is home most of the day.
Here is what her foster has to say about her:
Ruby:
Ruby is a sweet, energetic, and gentle pup who loves to give cuddles and kisses. She is three years, ten months old, and is a total sweetheart. Althoguh very timid at first, Ruby has a shining personality, and once she warms up to you, she will never leave your side. Because of her past situation, Ruby tends to dislike young children but is able to
come around after a few days and accept some attention. She is also very shy and sometimes territorial around new people and other dogs. Some of her favorite hobbies include chasing squirrels, giving kisses, going on walks, and cuddling in the lap of a person who she trusts. Ruby goes by several nicknames, including Nuggie, Ruby Teusday, and of course, Good Girl.

We have a update on Coco
Unfortunately she will need one more dental procedure due to a fistula that did not heal properly.
We are in the process of getting that appointment booked and will give you updates as soon as we know more.

Livy is now available for adoption.
She is a sweetheart who is 10 years old, UTD on her vaccinations, just had a dental done, and is quite affectionate.
She weighs around 9 pounds.
Here is what her foster has to say about her.

She’s a very spry 10 year old with a lot of energy - she has more get up and go than her much younger house mates! Livy gets along very well people other dogs her size and loves to cuddle with her foster brother and sister. She does very well on a walk and in the car if given a bed to sleep in. She’s 90% potty trained with the occasional accident, particularly if the weather doesn’t cooperate! Although she has a little separation anxiety when left alone, she’s quick to settle down and rest on her bed until her human companions return. She doesn’t appear to be crate trained but will go into a kennel to sleep if the door is left open. Livy is the perfect lap dog and would love to find a home where she is with someone most of the time and preferably, one where she can sleep in the big bed at night!

Cashew has had his intake exam and is now ready to fund his forever home.
We will begin taking applications on him tomorrow
This sweet heart is a 2 year old neutered male.
He weighs around 10 pounds.
He is UTD on his vaccinations, housebroken, loves car rides and is a loyal companion.
He will need to go to a home where he is the only pet, as he doesn’t do well with other pets in the home.
Does well on walks as long as there are not dogs close by.
He is a bit shy with new people, but will be very sweet once they get to know you.
He will need a free standing home with a yard.
He is getting to be more independent when left alone and his separation anxiety is getting much better.
He will need a home where someone is around most of the time.

We have a bit of an update on Chewy.
He is a super sweetheart that will be your best buddy as soon as he gets to know you.
He is a little shy at first.
He is a mini
He is 2 years old
He is housebroken, does well in a car, likes to sleep with you.
Is getting much better with his leash manners.
He is neutered, microchipped and UTD on his Vaccinations
He does have a high pray drive so he will need a home without any other pets, including dogs.
He will need a free standing home as he does have a bit of separation anxiety and will bark for a while when left alone. We are working on that however.
He will need a home where someone is home most of the time.
He has his intake exam on Wednesday and will start taking applications on him on Wednesday May 8th pending vet approval for adoption.

Sweet Coco has her recheck on Wednesday and if we get the veterinary clearance that all is healed, she will be available for adoption. We plan to start taking applications on her Thursday, May 2nd
Here is her bio written by her foster
Coco is a delightful, friendly, happy, quiet, and sweet 9 year old. Loves to great you at the front door. She came to us with severe dental disease and a large fatty tumor under her neck. She has gone through two dental surgeries and her fatty tumor removed and came back home as if it was nothing. Walks, treats, snuggling under blankets, treats, and sleeping in our bed is what she definitely enjoys. Her previous owner let the dogs graze all day but we schedule her meals once in the am and pm. Being a “lap” dog is her absolute favorite thing to do! She gets along well with other dogs but it’s unknown about cats. She’s potty trained inside on a pad and outside. She does have cutaneous vasculitis (meaning her blood vessels are inflamed) on the tips of each ear. We have been feeding her a supplement and using coconut oil on the tips of her ears to help treat it. She truly is a great dog and you can tell she was treated well during her first 9 years.

Gretel is a 7year old, super sweetheart that has recently lost her vision due to a disease called SARDS.
She gets along very well using her other senses to find her way. She loves humans, however she is not a fan of other dogs. We think that this is partly because she can't see the body language of the other dogs.
She comes when you call her, and will follow you everywhere.
She LOVES laps.
She came to us weighing 24 pounds and has lost 4 pounds already. She will need to loose another 3-4 pounds and she will be a great weight once again.
She will need a home with a yard as she came from a home that had a yard and she doesn't do well doing her business on a leash.
We think that a home that has someone home the majority of the time, and no young children would be the best place for her. She has had a recent dental, stayed, UTD on all her vaccinations, and is micro chipped.

This girl is a super sweet girl who needs a home where she can be an only dog.
She loves laps and cuddles and does find her way around very well.
She is blind and doesn’t do well with other dogs in her space.
She also will need to continue her diet plan as she is very overweight.
If you are looking for a lap dog to love you she is your girl.
She will need a yard as it takes her time to figure out where and when to her house chores.
Also no young children as being blind she can’t see when someone approaches and young children may startle her.

She is a very sweet dog and gets well with humans however, because of her blindness, she doesn’t read the body language of other dogs very well, which can lead to misunderstandings. She will need to be a only dog.
She will need to continue on her diet to lose weight.

We have a update on Gretel the blind, girl we took in due to the health of her owner.
She is very overweight and being blind she will be a huge challenge for her foster mom Amy.
Amy is a determined to get this girl back to a good weight and help her adjust to a life of sudden blindness caused by SARDS

Congratulations to Hank.
It was a huge day for him today.
He had a post surgery recheck and it was all good news.
Also his foster decided that Hank would become a member of her family.
They all have fallen in love with him and he has found his forever home.
