Visitors and guests welcome during business hours. Founded in 1982 as the Animal Rescue and Adoption Society (ARAS), the newly re-branded Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue is a non-profit cat shelter dedicated to providing a home, veterinary care and adoptions for homeless, abused, abandoned and neglected cats and kittens. Existing solely on public donations and fees from memberships, Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue relies on the dedicated support of its members, volunteers, staff and board members.

Valentino is a special kitty in need of a patient fur-ever home! He is very shy at first but once he opens up he wants nothing but love! 🐱❤

Valentino is a 3 y/o kitty who was found in Texas with 10 puncture wounds on his back end from a dog attack. His finders thought he was feral at first but once he settled down he turned into a total love bug! He was then sent up to us to find him a fur-ever home!

Valentino has been pretty nervous and scared since his arrival and hasn't allowed much handling. We know he just needs time to settle. Once he warms up he can't get enough love! He does great with the other cats and uses the litter box perfectly!

Consider adopting a shyer kitty, it's so rewarding when they open up and the bond is unlike any other! Valentino would be available for foster to adopt. 🥰🐾

Bumble is a stunning kitty in need of a quiet and understanding home that'll help her blossom into her wonderful self! 😺🐝

Bumble is a beautiful 3-year-old calico who came to us from a feral colony. Out of her group, she’s made the most social progress, and we’re so proud of how far she’s come. Though still very shy and easily startled, Bumble is non-aggressive and will accept gentle pets once she begins to feel safe.

She spends much of her day tucked into a cozy hidey bed, but with patience, a soft voice, and maybe a few treats, she can be gently lured out for calm, quiet interactions.

Bumble needs a peaceful, understanding home with an experienced cat owner who knows how to help shy cats continue building trust. Her gentle spirit and willingness to try make her a truly special companion for someone who values slow, meaningful connections.

If you believe in the quiet beauty of earning a cat’s trust, Bumble may be the perfect match for you. ❤🐾

Looking for double the love? Mama Jade and Amethyst are a sweet, inseparable mother-daughter pair who are ready to fill your home with affection, purrs, and charm. 🥰🐾

Mama Jade is the life of the party! Outgoing and affectionate, she’s the first to greet you at the door (literally—watch out, she’s a little door darter!). This confident girl loves attention, playtime, and treats. If you’re looking for a cat who will be your loyal shadow and always down for a cuddle or a game, Jade is your girl.

Amethyst, her gentle daughter, has a quieter soul. She’s content to spend her days napping in cozy beds, grooming her beautiful coat, and curling up in your lap when she’s ready for some love. She may take a bit longer to warm up, but her calm, sweet presence makes her the perfect snuggle companion.

Both girls are litter box trained, get along well with other cats, and are well-mannered in the home. Their experience with dogs is unknown, but they may adjust with a slow, respectful introduction.

These two are bonded and will need to be adopted together. Their different personalities balance each other beautifully, and together they make the purrfect pair.

Mama Jade and Amethyst can’t wait to find a home filled with love, cozy spots, and plenty of treats! ❤

Happy foster Friday from Dapper Dan! We can't believe this hunk of love is still looking for a fur-ever home! 🥰🐾

Dapper Dan was found in Albuquerque, New Mexico by a good samaritan. Unfortunately he tested positive for FIV+, NM does not have the resources to house or care for FIV kitties and they're often euthanized. Thankfully, he was instead brought to Colorado to find a fur-ever home! He is about 2 years old.

Dapper Dan has been a delight to have at the shelter, he lovessss humans and will often roam the room, loudly meowing, flopping for pets, and being a ham. He is quite the character and has the perfect hint of sass.

Dan needs to be the only pet/cat as he gets very jealous of the other kitties and has picked fights. But fear not! This wonderful boy has plenty of love and attention to go around! 😻⭐

❤️‍🩹 - Dapper Dan has a pending echocardiogram and a suspected grade 3 heart murmur. He may need further medical scans and care in the future. He is available for foster to adopt to the right home.

FIV+ is similar to HIV in humans, they're just a little bit immunocompromised. FIV is only spread cat to cat through deep bite and scratch wounds. FIV+ cats can live long, normal, happy, and healthy lives just like any other cat with regular vet visits! It is also important to keep FIV+ cats strictly indoors to prevent the spread of FIV and prevent your cat from contracting an illness from something they came into contact with.

🎉 JEFE GOT ADOPTED! 🎉

Jefe’s journey has been nothing short of incredible. He came to us as a stray from Rocky Ford—likely a dumped house cat—and soon after arriving, we noticed he was struggling to breathe. Emergency x-rays revealed a diaphragmatic hernia, and he needed surgery fast.

Thanks to our amazing community, we raised the $2,500 needed for his life-saving procedure. Two months later, after healing, cuddling, and charming every human he met… Jefe has officially found his forever home! 🏡❤

We’ll miss this special guy so much, but our hearts are full knowing he’s starting the next chapter of his life—safe, loved, and home.

Thank you to everyone who believed in him! ❤🐾

Cat merchandise for sale, silent auctions, a raffle and light snacks. If you'd like to bring a gift for the kitties in our care, we could use Purina Pro Plan food - dry or wet, kitten and adult.

Meet Melt, a fluffy 1-year-old heartthrob that is equal parts shy and sweet. 🖤

Melt was rescued from a high-risk outdoor colony and is now on his journey to finding a safe, loving forever home.

Though he's still building confidence around people, his desire for affection shines through—he’ll cautiously approach and gently head bump your hand for pets. 🥹 He LOVES other cats and thrives in their company, often rubbing up against them and following their lead.

Melt would do best in a calm, dog-free home with at least one friendly feline buddy (or a whole crew!). He enjoys playing, climbing to high places, and being shown gentle love on his terms.
