Mama Shana and her baby Shasa are in need of a loving home thats willing to give them a chance. Mama (Shana) is very friendly and outgoing but baby (Shasa) is a little touch aversive, we bet baby will open up in a home once she's settled and feeling safe! They've been looked over for far too long and have been in our care for nearly 250 days! 😻🐾

Mama Shana and Shasa were surrendered to a high risk shelter in Texas before being pulled and sent up to us to find their fur-ever home in Colorado! They would do best as the only pets in the home as Mama has gotten very protective of her baby in the past.

Mama Shana is 3 years old, has a slightly lighter coat and the more outgoing of the two. She loves humans, pets, playing, her baby Shasa, and naps! She will follow you around with a big purr, demanding more pets and attention. 😻

Shasa is her daughter, she is 1 year old and is still learning to trust humans. She is very timid and often runs when humans approach her too quickly. She needs a home that will help her learn how to trust humans and socialize her. She's shown interest and curiosity with humans, we bet she'll open up in a fur-ever home! 🥹

Quesadilla adoption update! 🥳🐾❤

Quesadilla was rescued from Texas after living under a taco truck. He spent a few weeks in our care, being a silly as can be, patiently waiting for his fur-ever home! Thankfully he was scooped up about a month ago and is now living his best cat life!

Heres an update from his family!:

"Hi all! We just wanted to let everyone know that Quesadilla has been settling in great!! (Except for eating his sisters food 😅) he officially met his younger sister and they are more and more comfy together every day. He loves to people watch on the window, LOVES purr pops, and head scratches. 🥰 This sweet boy has completed our family and we couldn’t be more thankful to you guys for bringing him into our lives. Thank you everyone at RMFR!!"

This months edition of RMFR Gossip covers one of our older residents, Sweet Pea. She's recently started free-roaming with the others and hasn't been so sweet to her peers! 😹🐾

Sweet Pea is a big love bug to humans but doesn't appreciate cats being in her space, looking, or even breathing her way. She makes sure to remind them with a nice hiss!

Kinzy, one of her roommates, breaks her silence and tells media sources that Sweet Pea will hiss at her brother, Biscuit, while he's napping. She says things are getting out of hand!

Sweet Pea is in need of a special home. She would likely do best as the only pet but has plenty of attention and love to go around and even does well with kids! Sweet Pea does have IBS and is on a special diet trial to help get her diarrhea under control. 🥰

Daffodil is a delightful feline looking for her fur-ever home! She deserves a second chance after being pulled from a Texas euthanasia list. 🥹🐾

Daffodil is a 1 y/o tabby from Texas! She spends her days relaxing in her hidy beds, loafing around, window watching, and getting love from humans! She loves cardboard boxes and will sneak into different rooms just to sit in them. 😹

Daffodil does great with the other kitties and uses the litter box perfectly. She is the perfect mix of mellow, playful, and lovey. Please consider welcoming this wonderful kitty into your fur-ever family. 🥰

Happy Mama Monday from Mama Dolores "Melody"! This sweet girl has been in our care for 270+ days, please consider welcoming her into your family! 😻🐾

Melody (also known as Mama Dolores) is a beautiful and loving 5 y/o orange tabby who came all the way from Huston, TX after delivering a litter of 5 babies. She spent the first few weeks/month in foster raising her babies to be big and strong kittens! She is now back at the shelter and ready to go home!

Melody spends her days exploring, loafing, napping, window watching, and getting pets. She's a sweet girl who knows what she wants! She is a mellow and snuggly cat! We think she has the perfect amount of love, energy, and affection! She uses the litter box perfectly, does well with other cats, and is notably, not a fan of being picked up. 😻🐾

Melody is currently on a special diet for IBS. Consider welcoming this sweet Mama into your family! 😻

RMFR weekly Tuesday night Bingo is back for 2025 and we've missed you! We know it's cold outside so get your couch time in tonight then join us on Tuesday night! 😻🐾

All proceeds help keep cats at our 501(c)(3) cozy and fed. Oh, and if one of your resolutions this year was to be more charitable, this counts!

⏰ Doors and side games open at 6:30pm, Bingo starts at 7:30pm.
Cash only, ATM and Snack Bar on site. Our friendly volunteers are happy to teach you how to play if you are new to Bingo!

⭐ Last game of the night pays $1100, not a bad way to start the year. ⭐

Pacha is a big, beautiful, and loving kitty in need of a fur-ever home! She is the perfect mix of mellow and loving! ❤🐾

Pacha was brought to us after her owner went through a divorce. She has been nothing but a big love since her arrival! Pacha is about 7 years old and spends her days relaxing on cat towers, a top kennels, out on the catio, or exploring. She loves pets and will follow you around rubbing up against your legs, she's been a staff favorite!

Pacha tolerates the other kitties but doesn't appreciate them getting in her space and will remind them with a hiss or whack. She uses the litter box perfectly and cannot wait to find a fur-ever home! 😻

Gordy & Grover Adoption Update! 😻🐾

Gordy & Grover, now Lewis & Clark, were adopted from RMFR and heartbreakingly returned to RMFR due to unknown allergies in the home, to no fault of anyone. They spent a few weeks in our care before finding their fur-ever home! They are now living their best life together, soaking up all the love and TLC!

Here is an update from their family!:

"I just thought I would send a quick message letting you know they are the most amazing cats! Newly named Lewis and Clark, they have adjusted seamlessly with our family. Meant to be doesn't even describe it. Lewis (formerly Grover) had some breathing issues. After taking him to the vet it turned out to be a simple polyp that was removed. Now, he is breathing so much better and playing harder than I'm sure he ever has. We love them so much and want to thank you all again for everything you do."

Havarti is in need of a fur-ever home on the quieter side! She is a wonderful kitty and deserves another chance and a fur-ever home for the holidays (& for life)! 😻🐾

Havarti is a stunning 3 y/o kitty who was adopted and returned to us due to pet on pet conflicts in the home. She's still pretty shy and stays hidden away during the day but has recently been venturing out when she's feeling brave. She loves hard treats and it has been a great tool to lure her out and try and build her confidence!

When she's not hidden away she is a very sweet kitty and LOVES pets, attention, and snuggles. She just needs some time and patience!

Havarti has been doing alright with the cats here at the shelter but was surrendered due to not getting along with the resident cat and dog so may do best as the only kitty. Consider welcoming this wonderful girl into your home! ❤

Happy foster Friday from Tuxedo! This handsome man is currently over waiting for his fur-ever home! ❤🐾

Tuxedo was surrendered to us to no fault of his own! He is about 10 years old and spends his days exploring, loafing perfectly, and getting love from humans. He is a mellow, loving, and silly boy!

Tuxedo does fine with the other cats but kept to himself for the most part, he also uses the litter box perfectly! 😻

Unfortunately Tuxedo is in kidney failure. He is currently at stage 2 kidney failure and the only treatment he needs right now is extra wet food and water. He will need further treatment in the future as his kidneys continue to fail. This may include sub-q fluids, prescription wet food, and/or medications.

Biscotti is looking for a fur-ever home with plenty of attention and love to give! She is SO sweet and we LOVE having her as our office manager. 👸🐾

Biscotti was surrendered to us a little over a month ago after her human passed away. She is about 8 years old, but fear not, this little lady has SO much love to go around, in fact, she can never get enough and ALWAYS wants to sit on a lap!

Biscotti loves to snuggle and is almost always in one of our laps. She'll sit in our lap, look up at us, and slowly lean her head over to snuggle and for pets. She'd do best in a home that is almost always occupied with a human.

Biscotti needs to be the only pet but does well with kids! She can get a little tired of younger kids and may need a space to take a break from them, but is very friendly and social. Biscotti was born without some of her intestines and has been having some tummy troubles. We are still trying to figure out what food doesn't upset her tummy, right now she's trying out a limited ingredient diet! 🐾

Tequila is currently in foster waiting for his fur-ever home, he's been waiting for 125 days! Consider welcoming this wonderful kitty into your family. 🐱🐾

Tequila was adopted out from us a few years ago and returned to no fault of his own! He is 6 y/o and a little shy, he takes a little while to adjust but once he does he is the sweetest! Heres what his foster has to say about him!:

"Tequila is a cuddle buddy who loves head scritches. He adores pouncing practice, especially with a laser pointer or something on a string. He'll accept brushing if you bribe him with a treat afterwards, and he eagerly awaits wet meals. While he can be nervous (he's missing a fang), he's also very brave."

Our water heater recently needed to be replaced and retuned, costing the shelter over $3,400. Hot water is an essential part in keeping our cats healthy, its how our laundry, dishes, litter pans, are properly sanitized. We are $1,200 away from our goal! 😻🫰

Guess what? Josephine and Evangeline found their fur-ever home after 364 days in our care! 🥳❤🐾

Josephine and Evangeline were found in Georgia as strays and brought to us to find their forever home! They were looked over for many many months, waiting for their purr-fect match to find them, and they did!

These two sisters found their perfect home earlier this week and are off on their new journey with their fur-ever family. We will miss them dearly but we are so happy for them! Happy tails cuties! 🥰

Skedaddle Adoption Update! ❤🐾

Skedaddle, now Obi, was brought to RMFR after being found on the streets by a good samaritan. He was pretty scared when he first arrived but we made sure to let him know we were here to help with lots of TLC, love, and treats. He opened up into a wonderful kitty and found a purr-fect fur-ever home in no time, even while having a cold!

Heres and update from his family!:

"I wanted to send y’all an update on Skedaddle (now Obi) and how he’s been the past week. Obi warmed up very quickly to us and is just the absolute best cat we could ever hope for!

He is so cuddly and purrs constantly, especially when being pet. He is the perfect lap cat and is so loving and affectionate.

His last round of antibiotics went well and he seems to be feeling much better now. He no longer has a stuffy/ runny nose, the sore on his lip seems to be gone now, and his coat is becoming much softer.

We love him so much, thank you for bringing us our dream cat!"

He spends most of his day in a hidey bed, but LOVES pets! He will almost instantly start purring, he sounds almost like a pigeon! Sometimes he makes himself purr so hard he hiccups. Harry Styles has FIV, which sounds scary, but it isn't! FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. This means hes just a little immunocompromised.
