Founded in 1982 as the Animal Rescue and Adoption Society (ARAS), the newly re-branded Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue is a non-profit cat shelter dedicated to providing a home, veterinary care and adoptions for homeless, abused, abandoned and neglected cats and kittens. Existing solely on public donations and fees from memberships, Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue relies on the dedicated support of its members, volunteers, staff and board members.

Maya is in foster awaiting her fur-ever home! She is so sweet and loves humans! 🥰🐾

Maya was surrendered with Nala, unfortunately in foster Maya started stalking Nala, resulting in her no long eating. So Miss Nala returned to the shelter and now Maya is waiting for her fur-ever home!

Maya is a stunning 11 y/o calico! She's a bright, happy kitty who loves playing with her ball, wand, and fish toy. She also loves laying in the sunshine and belly rubs! She tolerates other kitties but also wouldn't mind being the only cat in the home. She would most likely do best in a home without young children.

Havarti is currently in foster awaiting a fur-ever home! She is a wonderful kitty who loves love! 🥰🐾

Havarti is a stunning 3 y/o kitty who was adopted and returned to us due to pet on pet conflicts in the home. She's a bit shy but has been coming out more often in her foster home. She is a very sweet kitty and LOVES pets, attention, and snuggles, she just needs some time and patience!

Havarti would likely do best as the only pet as dogs and other cats cause her great stress. But fear not, this wonderful little lady has plenty of love to go around! She'd do best in a quieter home as loud noises and quick movements startle her.

Squiggy & Wilma are two wonderful kitties in need of a special home! They just need time and patience. ❤🐾

Wilma and Squiggy were both found in a junk yard and brought to us at separate times to find them homes. They were reunited in our Colony room and have been best friend since!

Wilma, the long haired of the two, is a wonderful kitty, she is often tucked away but will sometimes be seen hanging out on the cat towers, looking out the windows, and enjoying churu from her favorite human. She allows pets but only from our socialization volunteer who has spent countless hours with her. Wilma is about 1.5 years old.

Squiggy, the short haired of the two, is more outgoing but still weary of new humans. If you move slow and offer churu, he might become your best friend! He loves pets and might even kick his leg or lick when you hit the right spot. He will eat as much churu as you give him and loves snuggling up with the other shy kitties during their downtime. Squiggy has show some neurological issues that are currently being investigated. He is about 1.5 years old.

Wilma and Squiggy adore each other, they are often seen together rubbing against each other or snuggled up. They would do best in a quiet home without young kids or dogs. They use the litter box perfectly!

Rita is a gorgeous tabby in need of a fur-ever home on the quieter side! She is so stinkin' sweet! 🐱🥰🐾

Rita is a 3 y/o tabby who came all the way from Texas after being surrendered to a kill-risk shelter. Thankfully her and her sister were scooped up and place in foster down in Texas. Her sister was sent to us a few months ago and found her fur-ever home, its now Rita's turn!

Rita spends her days hanging out with the other kitties, lounging around, and getting pets from humans. She can be weary at first but loves pets!

Rita does well with the other kitties and would likely do best with a feline companion. She also uses the litter box perfectly. Consider welcoming this purr-fect feline into your family!

Mama Dolores, also known as Melody, is still in need of a home. Please consider giving her a fur-ever family! 🥹😢❤

Melody (also known as Mama Dolores) is a beautiful and loving 5 y/o orange tabby who came all the way from Huston, TX after delivering a litter of 5 babies. She spent the first few weeks/month in foster raising her babies to be big and strong kittens!

Melody spends her days exploring, loafing, napping, window watching, and getting pets. She's a sweet girl who knows what she wants! She is a mellow and snuggly cat! We think she has the perfect amount of love, energy, and affection! She uses the litter box perfectly and does well with the other cats. 😻🐾

Melody is currently on a special diet for IBS and needs yearly urine analysis and bloodwork done to ensure she stays in good health. Consider welcoming this sweet Mama into your family! 😻

Nala is a wonderful older gal in need of a home to live out her golden years in! She doesn't deserve to spend her time in a shelter. 🥰🐾

Nala is a 11 y/o calico who was surrendered to us after her owner was no longer able to take care of her and her sister. Unfortunately her sister started stalking her in foster and the needed to be un-bonded. They are now looking for homes separately!

Nala spends her days snuggled up in cozy beds, watching the kitties, napping, and getting love from humans. The second you touch her she'll start purring away! She does well with the other cats although keeps to herself and uses the litter box perfectly!

Billy is a handsome and sweet boy in need of a quieter home! He is a little shy at first but opens up into a big ol love bug after a few pets! 🥰🐾❤

Billy is a 2 y/o cow kitty who found his way to us after being trapped as a stray. He was very scared when he first arrived but he's now starting opening open into a lovely little man! He still spends his days mostly hidden away but will come out for love in the afternoon.

Billy loves pets and would appreciate some attention, he might be a little adverse to your hand at first, but if you go slow and introduce yourself he might become your best friend! He does well with the other cats and uses the litter box perfectly!🖤🤍🐱

Thank you to the 100+ Bingo players that took a shot at our progressive jackpot Tuesday night and celebrated Fat Tuesday with us! RMFR had no progressive jackpot winners last night, which means we WILL be paying out $8300 on Tuesday March 11th! 🥳🐱❤🐾

And because we love our bingo players so much, we're adding a special strip bingo game with a $1,000 payout!

Get there early to grab a seat and play some side games before regular Bingo starts at 7:30pm. Doors open early at 5:30pm - CASH ONLY, ATM and Snack Bar on site.

Black Pearl is looking for a fur-ever home! She is semi-feral and missing half of one of her back legs. Please consider welcoming this special kitty into your family! 🖤🐾

Black Pearl is a very shy kitty who is still learning that humans aren't trying to hurt her. She needs a home that understands she may never be a people cat. She has been making progress here and we see potential for her to accept pets in the semi-near future.

Black Pearl is missing half of one of her back legs, resulting in a slower gate and slight 'limp'. This does not cause her any pain or discomfort. She does well with the other kitties and uses the litter box perfectly! She would do best in a home with another kitty or best being adopted with another. 🥰

Pacha Adoption Update! 🥰❤🥳

Pacha was surrendered to RMFR after her owner was unable to provide the attention she needed. She spent quite a few weeks in our care and became one of our staff favorites! She spent her days keeping the other cats in line, getting love, being a ham, and playing! Thankfully a wonderful family scooped her up and she is now living her best life in her fur-ever home!

Heres an update from her family!:

"Hi we adopted Pacha! And wanted to give an update, she is the sweetest addition to our family, she spends her days laying on the heating pad, staring at the birds outside, and strangely biting our shower curtain! Just is a bundle of love and we love her so much. We play all day and sleep all day together we are the perfect match. ❤️"

Miss Mitts is a miraculous kitty in need of a fur-ever home that'll love her as much as we do! She may be a little older, but she has many year of love to give and deserves to spend her golden years in a forever home. ☀️🐱🐾

Mitts is an 11 y/o kitty who was recently surrendered to us after her owner could no longer care for her. She is so stinkin' sweet and spends her days relaxing in cubbies, hidey beds, and towers. Sometimes coming out to grace us with her wonderful presence!

Mitts is a chill kitty who would prefer to window watch, be spoiled with love, and hang out with her human all day. She does well with the other kitties and uses the litter box perfectly. She is on the bigger side and would benefit from a diet and may need a little help cleaning her bum every now and then until she slims down! 🥰

We are so sad Luva hasn't found a home yet, he is a wonderful boy! He has been waiting for 225 days. 😢❤🐾

Luva is a stunning tabby with the cutest gummy meow. He's a little bit older, being 9, but has many years of companionship and love ahead of him! Luva spends his days in comfy beds, getting pets, hanging out, and napping.

Luva needs to be the only cat in the home. He'd do best in a home that isn't overly loud or active! He is currently in foster waiting for his fur-ever family! ❤

Mama Laura is a fur-ever kitten in need of a loving home with lots of attention and play time available. We can't believe she hasn't found a home yet! ❤️🐾🥹

Mama Laura was found as a stray down in Texas with her babies and sent up to us to find her a fur-ever home! She is about 3 years old but is as small as a kitten. Laura spends her days keeping her feline roommates in line, playing, exploring, napping, and getting pets from humans. She is SO sweet!

Mama Laura would do best as the only pet, but has PLENTY of attention to go around! She uses the litter box perfectly and cannot wait to find a home! 🥰

Valentino is a special kitty in need of a patient fur-ever home! He is very shy at first but once he opens up he wants nothing but love! 🐱❤

Valentino is a 3 y/o kitty who was found in Texas with 10 puncture wounds on his back end from a dog attack. His finders thought he was feral at first but once he settled down he turned into a total love bug! He was then sent up to us to find him a fur-ever home!

Valentino has been pretty nervous and scared since his arrival and hasn't allowed much handling. We know he just needs time to settle. Once he warms up he can't get enough love! He does great with the other cats and uses the litter box perfectly!

Consider adopting a shyer kitty, its so rewarding when they open up and the bond is unlike any other! 🥰🐾

Need a purr-fect companion? Consider adoption Mr. Sherlock, aka Nuzzles! He is currently in foster waiting for a fur-ever home. ❤

Mr. Sherlock, aka Nuzzles, was surrendered to RMFR due to his family being unable to care for him any longer. He's on the older side but still has many years of life and love to give! Heres what his foster family has to say about him:

"Nuzzles is a senior, but don't let his age fool you, he still has pep in his paws. Nuzzles loves being where the action is and will seek out people for pets, scratches, and play. He will sit on your lap at times or nap by himself. When he feels left out, he will be vocal. He likes to chase his fishing rod toy around in circles until dinner time.

Nuzzles has done well with meeting new people. He likes playing with the kiddo in his foster home and liked when kids visited him too.

He and the resident cat have not bonded, but Nuzzles was willing and interested in meeting. It was the resident cat who didn't want to be friends. We cannot say with certainty how he would do in a house with another cat but we are hopeful.

He is on a special urinary care diet and must be fed separately from other pets. He uses the litter box perfectly."

He spends most of his day in a hidey bed, but LOVES pets! He will almost instantly start purring, he sounds almost like a pigeon! Sometimes he makes himself purr so hard he hiccups. Harry Styles has FIV, which sounds scary, but it isn't! FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. This means hes just a little immunocompromised.
