Founded in 1982 as the Animal Rescue and Adoption Society (ARAS), the newly re-branded Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue is a non-profit cat shelter dedicated to providing a home, veterinary care and adoptions for homeless, abused, abandoned and neglected cats and kittens. Existing solely on public donations and fees from memberships, Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue relies on the dedicated support of its members, volunteers, staff and board members.

Monique is still looking for a home! She is so sweet, outgoing, and playful! 🐾😺

Monique is a beautiful, outgoing, and talkative 3 y/o tortie. She is one of our newer kitties from Texas and is overwhelmed at the shelter, resulting in her bossing and smacking around the other kitties. She is a wonderful girl and does well with kids!

Monique spends her days atop kennels/towers, talking, exploring, getting pets, keeping the other cats in line, and napping! She has a very sweet little meow and isn't afraid too demand more pets. She's a very funny little kitty who reportedly enjoys water! ❤️🐾

Monique uses the litter box perfectly! She does well with other cats although she currently doesn't want them near her - she is just overwhelmed and needs a slow introduction. She'd do best with a higher energy cat/kitten.

Happy Sister Sunday from Shana & Shasa, they have been waiting for their fur-ever home for over 100 days! 🐾😺

This beautiful mom and daughter duo are looking for a home together. They are currently over at Pet Supplies Plus Littleton waiting for their fur-ever home! They need to be the only pets - Shana is VERY protective of her baby and does NOT like other cats being near her. But fear not! These two have plenty of love, affection, and fun to go around! 😺😺

Shana is the mom, she is 3 years old and the more outgoing of the two. She loves humans, pets, playing, her baby Shasa, and naps! She will follow you around with a big purr, demanding more pets and attention. 😻

Shasa is her daughter, she is 1 year old and is still warming up to shelter life. She is very timid and often runs when humans approach her. She needs a home that will help her learn how to trust humans and socialize her. We know Shasa is a wonderful cat, she is just scared. 🥺❤️

Happy is an affectionate and mellow kitty looking for a quiet home with plenty of spots to nap and people to provide pets! ❤😺

Happy is a beautiful 7 y/o calico with half a tail! She is a very sweet girl who spends her days on/in cat towers, napping, observing, and getting attention from staff/visitors. She's a more quiet kitty and prefers to lounge around all day. She'd love a home on the quieter side with plenty of comfy beds to nap in!

Happy does well with the other cats although she usually keeps to herself, she also uses the litter box like a pro! She does need a dental cleaning and some teeth pulled, she is currently on our waiting list, we will do her dental at RMFR if she's not adopted prior to the procedure. 😻

Renata is a mellow and loving little cow kitty looking for her fur-ever home! 😺🐾

Renata is one of our newer Texas kitties! She's still warming up to the shelter life and can be a little skittish but would love some pets. She's a beautiful little 3 y/o kitty who spends her days in cozy beds, on cat towers, napping, and sometimes exploring when she feels brave.

Renata does well with the other kitties and uses the litter box perfectly. She'd prefer a home on the quieter side and may take a few days to open up, but she is such a wonderful kitty! ❤

Renata had a goopy eye that stained her white fur, thats the gunk under her eye! We are working on getting it off but don't want to irritate her skin, it stained her fur pretty well! 😺

Apollo went home today! This sweet old man spent 178 days in our care, keeping the staff in line and being a love! 🐈🖤

Apollo was a staff favorite with his crunchy meow and bossy purr-sonality. He spent his days here out on his purr-sonal catio, napping, window watching, and being a grumpy old man.

Jade is one of our newer Houston, TX kitties, she's a little shy but has been making great progress since her arrival. She's 2 years old and spends her days in a hidey bed, on towers, napping, and exploring when she's feeling brave! She is a very sweet kitty but might take some time to open up and show her true colors.

Mama Reba is a beautiful 2 y/o girl who just finished raising SIX babies! She is a loving, outgoing, and opinionated kitty. She spends her days sunbathing, exploring, napping in a cozy bed, and getting pets from humans.

Mama Reba has a tad bit of sass but in the best way possible, she just knows what she wants! She's a funny and affectionate cat. We cannot wait for her to find a home! ❤️

Kalharrt has been waiting for a forever home for 70 days! She is a sweet girl but sometimes wants her space, she'd do best in a quieter home. 😻🐾

Kalhartt is a beautiful 4 y/o kitty who is struggling with the shelter life. If you move slow and let her sniff your hand, she'd love some pets! She enjoys chin, head, body, and butt scratches and might even give you a twirl! 💃

Kalharrt especially loves to be combed and will come down from her throne for more! 😻👑

Sometimes she isn't in the mood for pets and would rather be observed. Who can blame her?! Not everyone wants to be bothered all the time! She'll let you know she's done with a little whack or 'nip' (she act like she'll nip you but she doesn't!).

Kalhartt does well with the other cats but has kept to herself for the most part. She uses the litter box perfectly and would do best in a quieter home. We are worried she'll continue to be looked over because of her skittish-ness, please consider welcoming this beautiful and loving girl into your home! 🏠

Apollo is a sweet old man in need of a home as the only kitty/pet. He loves humans and is very opinionated in the best way possible! He's been with us for over 170 days! 😺🐾

Apollo is a loving and outgoing 9 y/o boy who spends his days out on his purr-sonal catio or window seat, soaking in the sun and watching for birds. When he's not sunbathing he's often getting pets from staff or napping! He loves to roll around and show off his belly when getting pets, supervise your work, and tell you about his day.

Apollo is such a wonderful cat with an amazing character, he's been with us for far too long! He has the silliest meow and perfect sassy purr-sonality without any of the biting or scratching, instead he gives you a silly grumpy meow and words of protest. We adore him!

Apollo needs to be the only cat/pet in the home, but fear not, this handsome boy has plenty of love to go around! He would love a home with a lap always available to sit in and attention to be given. ❤

Apollo is also FIV+, which sounds scary, but isn't! FIV+ is similar to HIV in humans, they're just a bit immunocompromised. FIV is only spread cat to cat through deep bite and scratch wounds. FIV+ cats can live long, normal, happy, and healthy lives just like any other cat with regular vet visits!

Zee is a wonderful little old lady in need of a forever home as the only kitty! She has been waiting almost❗️250 DAYS❗️ for a home! 😻

Zee is on the older side (12) but you'd never know just by looking at her! She's beautiful, spunky, and full of life. Zee spends her days sunbathing, window watching, getting love from humans, being a shoulder kitty and exploring! She is currently in foster enjoying a break from the cats.

Zee was sassy/bossy at the shelter but has been an absolute LOVE in foster! She does great with kids and uses the litter box perfectly. She still has some of her sass but will only give you a grumpy meow and paw at you to let you know she's had enough!

Zee has hyperthyroidism, is declawed in the front (😿) and needs to be the only cat in the home. She takes meds twice a day for her hyperthyroidism but actually enjoys it! We mix her crushed meds into churu and she eats it right up, the person who gives her meds even becomes her favorite purrson!

Please consider welcoming this wonderful cat into your home, she doesn't deserve to continue waiting, she should be living out her golden years in a fur-ever home! 🖤👑

We cannot believe Mama Dyna is STILL waiting for her fur-ever home! She is the funniest and sweetest little orange kitty. 😺🐾

Mama Dyna is a beautiful 4 y/o kitty who spends her days atop cat towers, in cozy beds, window watching, exploring, and getting love from staff and guests! She enjoys nice long naps in silly positions, treats, talking about her day, playing, and humans.

Mama Dyna does okay with the other cats but can be a little bossy and mostly keeps to herself - but she'd do fine with other cats in the home. Mama Dyna uses the litter box perfectly and cannot wait for a forever home! 😻

Happy Mama Monday from Mama Meia! This confident, beautiful, and sweet girl is looking for her fur-ever home - she's been waiting for over 170 days! 😺🐾

Mama Meia is a 3 y/o tortie who's currently in foster awaiting her fur-ever home! Here's what her foster family has to say about her:

"Meet Meia! This beautiful girl is a loving and confident little tortie looking for her forever home!

Meia is a gorgeous kitty, and she would LOVE a fur-ever home that is calm and quiet, with plenty of plush toys for her to carry around! She was pretty shy when she first arrived at her foster home, and spent her days hidden under the bed until it was time for wet food. It takes her some time to warm up to people, but once she does she loves sitting in laps, and snuggling at bedtime. She doesn't love to be picked up, but rest assured, as soon as you sit down she'll be in your lap.

She is now a very confident kitty, who should probably be the only dominant cat in the house, or at least be with another cat who doesn't mind her dominance/confidence. She doesn't scratch or bite, but she does give the funniest little hand nibbles when she's loving on you. She would probably do fine with older kids who aren't high energy, but little kids might scare her.

Meia loves plush toys, fluffy blankets, the play tunnel, her scratching post, all the treats, and her wet food! She will follow you around, rubbing against your legs and giving you the cutest little "squeaks to let you know she's excited. We have nick named her Squeaks.

She uses the litter box perfectly and cannot wait to find a home!"

Lake & Lagoon are looking for a fur-ever home together! ❤🐾

This sweet sister/brother duo are some of RMFR's newest kitties! They're both very affectionate and loving 1 y/o kitties. They were an instant staff favorite and we can't get enough of them! 😻

Lake is the girl, she has some orange mixed into her coat, is a little fluffier than her brother, and has 2 dots on each side of her nose. She's the playful and talkative one of the two! She loves playing with string toys and tunnels. She also has the cutest crunchy meow and would LOVE to tell you all about her day!

Lagoon is the boy, he has stunningly deep stripes, he's a little bigger than his sister, and has 3 dots on each side of his nose! He is the more mellow one of the two and would prefer to lounge around. He loves hanging out in cat trees, up high, in cozy beds, and with his sister! He is so so sweet and just wants love!

Consider welcoming this wonderful duo into your family! They do well with kids, other cats, and use the litter box perfectly. 🐾

Boba adoption update! 🐾❤

Boba, now Lion, was adopted from RMFR a few weeks ago by some of our wonderful volunteers. He was a staff favorite and found a home in no time, he's now enjoying the house cat life in his new fur-ever home! 😻

Heres an update from his family:

"Hi RMFR!

We adopted Boba about 2 weeks ago and wanted to give an update. He is doing great and adjusting well to his new home! We’ve renamed him to Lion and his new name fits his personality perfectly. He loves snuggles, climbing the cat tree, and is always ready to play with our resident cat Luna. In no time they’ll be best buds. He has been the perfect addition to our home.

Sprinkles is in need of a fur-ever home on the quieter side and one that will love her endlessly! 😻

Sprinkles is a very sweet and mellow 4 y/o kitty. She's a kitty who prefers to lounge around most of the day, she especially loves hanging out on cat towers! She spends her days relaxing, soaking in the sun, getting pets, and just being cute! She has the silliest demanding meow that we all love.

Sprinkles was adopted from us a few years ago with her bonded sister. Unfortunately she was surrendered to DDFL without her sister and returned to us. We aren't sure where her other half is. :(

Sprinkles tolerates the other kitties, she's still getting used to the shelter environment and cats, this will likely improve in a home setting. She uses the litter box perfectly and would prefer a home on the quieter side.

Gizmo went missing at the TA Gas Station (5101 Quebec St., Commerce City, CO 80022) during transport from Ohio to Florida. Unfortunate negligence by the transporter resulted in Gizmo escaping at the gas station. His family is heartbroken - lets help get this kitty home!

Gizmo is a black and white, med/long haired, male kitty with a distinct black stripe on half of his nose.

Mama Kitana is in need of a loving home! She is the sweetest, just a little shy! ❤️🐾

Mama Kitana just finished raising her babies and is now ready for a home of her own. She is a beautiful 5 y/o white and tabby cat who spends her days tucked away in a cubby.

Heres what her foster had to say about her:

"Kitana (aka mom) is shy and slow to warm up. She's uniquely long and lanky. I've fostered dozens of cats and she is like the ballerina of kittens--statuesque and graceful. Once Kitana gets accustomed to you, she loves neck scritches and butt scratches. I think she would be happiest in a calmer household with someone willing to spend the time to coax her out of her shell. She's a bit more aloof and earning her trust and hearing her purring are rewarding victories."

Mama Kitana is very sweet and would love some pets, especially behind the ears. She would do best in a quieter home that understands it might take her a little to warm up. She does well with the other cats and uses the litter box perfectly.
