Precautions While Selling A Dog
When selling a dog, several things need to be taken into consideration. For example, you must know if the buyer can adequately take care of the dog, feed it regularly, and take it out on daily walks.
These are necessities for dogs, and those unable to handle such responsibilities should not be given the pet.
As the seller, here are some precautions you can undertake while selling your dog:
Check if the buyer is genuine or not. Additionally, do a background check on the purchaser. It is essential to know the background of the person you are handing your loved dog to.
Inform the purchaser about all the allergies, diseases (if any), likes and dislikes, and comforts and discomforts of the dog. This is so that they can take care of the dog accordingly.
While placing an ad on the internet, never give out any personal information, addresses, card numbers, etc. Moreover, don’t post pictures of your pup that could give clues as to your whereabouts.
If someone wishes to see you, make sure to meet them at safe public places like restaurants, cafes, etc. Take the necessary precautions while meeting the buyer.
Make sure that the person buying your dog is interested in the breed of your puppy. Moreover, take your time and carefully analyze the buyer.
Don’t sell your dog to someone who seems “uninterested” when you try to talk about your dog’s needs. Also, don’t be greedy and make a deal with someone offering to pay more. The safety and well-being of the dog should be prioritized over everything else.
