Getting ready for the first annual award ceremony for Standby Fitness Rescue running team. This year we did a combined total of 455 miles with Buffalo Runners.com
77 races benefiting charities around WNY. All while saving homeless cats and kittens off the streets. We even managed to adopt a few cats out to other runners. 😁😁.
We are a vital resource in the Buffalo community and we give back in many ways we ask nothing in return but homes for our rescues. Help a street cat and adopt from us. ❤️❤️❤️

Hmmm. The criticism of my rescue is that I help for free. Nice try west side. And this is your neighborhood that you get thousands of dollars in donations for. Way to let down the feral cat population. Not surprised since Alicia also left this cat behind
And yes we have helped hundreds of cats for FREE. Paid for their medical and care. Found them homes for FREE. Brought them into our home for FREE.

The main rescues in Buffalo do NOT do street work or actually GOING into the streets to help this kind of stray cat. If it’s feral they won’t even help if you bring it there.
There is an entire population of cats that are left behind because that is not what these big rescues who receive all your donations do. Many people think they do. And the huge donations go to help friendly cats go from home to home.
I started this rescue because I was on the receiving end of NO HELP for a stray in my yard. I remember giving each year before this to those organizations. We’ll never again since I see what really happens in rescue behind the scenes. I see the cats they do not help where the need is greater than you can imagine The feral street cat who have frostbite, dental issues , respiratory infections, sores etc.

I say this but also remember I am not asking for your donation so there is no confusion or foul play. I am educating the public. Speaking the truth about what is really going on. These are ACTUAL stories from other people. I don’t know this person but saw their story posted.
We will reach out to help her trap and help this cat. Because we are a vital resource in buffalo

Two ear tipped very feral older kittens came here. One severely injured and very aggressive. Auroura not aggressive but a severe hider unsociable cat. A lot of work, time and effort went into these two. Baxter was the key in turning taz and aurora. Without him they would’ve have been adoptable. Now they are living the best life with their forever family and are best friends

Once TNVR efforts are over -who takes care of them ? We have taken over because there is no one.

This is how relaxed our rescues are. They are raised as family. No cages here. They know safety and love They are engaging and not skittish because we raise them in a house environment. We are a different kind of rescue ❤️❤️❤️

She was a two year old feral barn cat. She came here to nurse her baby then she was supposed to go back. But she was just scared. she made me so sad to see all the fear. Never nasty or mean just petrified. I kept her because she bonded with sniper. He became her “everything “. She was glued to him as her protection and leader. She developed into family and it took along time to get her to be family but it happened. And she is so happy here. I absolutely love her and can’t imagine her as a barn cat. She is sweet and so vulnerable. My little girl. It’s takes time and effort to change a feral but it can be done

Sunday is always deep clean day here at the rescue. Today we are going to Murphy oil soap the floors. Baxter and Addie find it fun to play in the temporary pile of stuff 🤪🤪🤪 All fun and games until you open your house to strays and someone has to clean it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is the same cat that was steel trapped because he couldn’t be touched. Same cat that hissed and lunged at me. Same cat that scratched and bit me. Same cat that ran from me and hid for hours behind and under that smallest places to avoid me. Same feral street cat. Take that street cat add patience and love and TIME. Plus a few great foster cats for guidance and this is what you get back in return ❤️❤️
