Join us in celebrating the Beaverdale Fall Festival 2024 this year by attending the parade at 10a this Saturday, 9/21! Following the parade the clinic, Iowa Veterinary Wellness Center, will be hosting an open house from 12-1:30p for some fun games, prizes, snacks, and activities. All are welcome! 😊 We look forward to seeing everyone.

This is Chuck!

A very kind pedestrian found Chuck near the VA hospital and brought him into IVWC to be scanned for a microchip! This little guy luckily was chipped so we were able to get in contact with his owner(s) and found out he had be missing for a month! Chuck had gotten lost outside and made his way here all the way from Ankeny! Chuck was happily reunited with his family after few too many weeks.

Update from the family: Chuck is very happy to be home and getting tons of snuggles!

Chuck is not a patient here at IVWC but we were so happy to get this sweet fella home to his family. We wanted to share with you this story of sweet Chuck and highlight the importance of Microchipping! It helps in so many ways. ❤️

Happy National Assistance Dog Day!

Did you know, it wasn’t until 1990 that the job of a dog who functions in a service capacity was defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)? Granting an official role for assistance dogs.

Today, there are many different kinds of assistance dogs, from guide dogs and hearing alert dogs, to medical alert dogs that can recognize the signs of heart attacks, on coming seizures, panic attacks, strokes and epilepsy. Including, search & rescue! They play an important role in providing independence, assistance and companionship for those with disabilities.
