Does your barn have a great lesson horse? The unsung heroes of the horse show world, many lesson and academy horses work tirelessly to help riders develop a strong foundation, hone their skills, and teach a deep respect and appreciation for the horse. We wish to honor one special lesson horse each year for their continued work to our sport!

IHSA Members, please fill out the form in the link below with a brief description of why you think a lesson horse at your barn should be the IHSA Lesson Horse of the Year.

Nominated horses will be displayed at the 2025 IHSA banquet on February 8 and members will vote to pick the winner. Please submit your nomination by January 18! Follow the link below.

Do you know an exhibitor who has exemplified good sportsmanship throughout the 2025 season? Excellent sportsmanship is displayed in someone who consistently demonstrates an ongoing commitment and dedication to the promotion of equestrian sport, is a positive role model, and has characteristics that exemplify sportsmanship principles.

The Iowa Horse Shows Association Adult and Youth Sportsmanship Nominations are now open! IHSA Members, please fill out the form by following the link below. Please list detailed reasons why the person is deserving of this honor. The IHSA Board will chose a Youth and Adult winner. This closes January 18th, so get your nominations in!

We are excited to announce the front, back, and inside back covers of the annual Iowa Horse Shows Association magazine will each be a silent auction item at our IHSA Awards Banquet, held at Blank Park Zoo on February 8th!

The silent auction winners of each item will have a custom page designed by the editor of the magazine!
