Meet Lord Baldemort. His owner brought him in because he was not eating and not acting like a playful kitten. After some hospitalization with TLC, fluids, and hand feeding, he has since perked up and is doing great!

Did you know that, like people, a dog’s mental health is an important as their physical health? Getting your dog outdoors for walks and playtime can be a great way to help keep them mentally and physically healthy. Unfortunately, being under a foot of snow and temps dropping well into the negatives it’s a lot harder to get in that much needed mental stimulation. 🐾We love all of our patients, but it’s sure fun to see rare pets!
🦎This is Mildew, he is a juvenile bearded dragon with some special genetics. He is translucent, and leatherback, which means he has very fine, smooth scales. The white spots are normal, referred to as “pied”, which is a genetically recessive trait that can occur in many reptiles!
♥️He was recently adopted and his family brought him in to see Dr. Austin for a wellness check. Look how perfect he is! Welcome home, buddy!

🪥This is sweet little Elvis ( just look at that face 🥹). He came in to have a dental cleaning procedure and just look at the difference! Doggone, it’s getting HOT! Did you know dogs don’t full body sweat like humans and can suffer heatstroke far more easily? Here are few ways to keep your dog safe when they do go outside. ☀️Go on walks early or late in the day. ☀️Check the temperature of the ground they will be walking on, if it’s to hot to touch it’s to hot for their paws ☀️Provide fresh water. Kiddie pools and doggy ice treats or frozen peanut butter Kongs are great fun, help to keep them cool, and provides mental enrichment ☀️if they are hanging out outside with you make sure they have a shady area to rest in. We think Kevin’s idea of playing in the sprinkler is a great idea to help beat the heat!
