Duke π
Working at Gray's Lake today!
This boy is one of the most fearful dogs I've had in quite a while. He still has a lot of confidence building to do, but what he's doing today is absolutely amazing! A couple weeks ago, he would have been searching for the nearest place to run. So stinking proud of him!!! He's been working so hard!
Nova π
This girl is doing amazing work!! She has quite a bit of anxiety, especially with new settings.
Today I took her with me to Menards and we did our workout together, focusing on remaining in heel position, and staying focused rather than getting too distracted by our surroundings. We accomplish this by engaging with our dogs, talking, rewarding, and lots of turns and pace changes. Make training fun and exciting, while also keeping it controlled and balanced π
This girl got to go pick out a new toy after we finished our workout session! Super proud of this pretty girl!
Lola π
This girl completed week 2 of her board and train program with me today! One more week to go!
Today she had her second training session with her mom.
Some of you know, and some of you don't, but my mom is also a trainer and owns Adelhorst Kennels. We both ended up in Lowe's this afternoon teaching lessons (UNPLANNED!) but we took this opportunity and had both of our teams work around eachother to practice passing other dogs! So the pretty lady you see standing off to the side in a couple of clips that kinda looks like me, is actually my beautiful mom!
Neither of these dogs had ever met eachother before, so this was perfect! Lola's mom did an amazing job today!!
What you see in this video is exactly what happened, we worked on passing without getting distracted or losing focus. There was no "meet and greet", no sniffing eachother, no interaction at all between these two dogs at any point. This should be your goal! It shouldn't be about being able to say "hi" and see how it goes. It should be about being able to work in another dog's space without acting like the other dog is present π great job to both teams!! They did amazing!!
Walter π
I'm late on getting his video posted! He had his first lesson with his mom on Wednesday!
Super proud of these two!
My program is prong collar and E collar based.
Sounds scary if you don't know how to properly use them doesn't it?...
Your collars are meant to be a TOOL, not a WEAPON.
This is what prong collar and E collar training should look like! Become a team with your dog, and if you don't know how, I'd love to show you!
My training programs include training you too!
Let's get you and your dog on a better path TOGETHER π
Lolaπ
This girl had a long and successful morning!
We went to Scheels together, and I was very pleased with how well she did! This was her first time in Scheels, and it was a whole new setting for her!
After our training in Scheels, I took her with me to visit my grandparents. She was so sweet and calm with them, it was like she knew they are fragile! She adored my Grandma, and seeing them interact together made my heart so happy! She made their day!
Ask me about my board and train program, and what it can do for your dog!
Lolaπ
This is what the proper training can do for your dog's anxiety and self confidence!
Lola started my 3 week board and train program 6 days ago. When she first arrived she was clearly a very sweet girl, but she was also incredibly shy and timid. I had to take the first couple of days with her very slow, she was definitely not my biggest fan in the beginning as she was very reserved.
Once we started working together, I made our workout sessions very fun, and as short and sweet as possible!
This girl is a rescue who was found in a garage with her siblings. She had clearly not seen a whole lot outside of those 4 walls, and has a lot of fear with new situations.
Today I took her to a park to start our workout, where we had a few distractions to get started. Then we moved to a store setting. This was Lola's first training session in a store, and by far her biggest distraction filled session so far.
I quickly moved us to an open isle and started our normal workout routine.
I kept our training fast paced and exciting, by doing lots of pace changes and turns. You will notice my eyes are always on my dog, and my hands are constantly coming down and giving little bursts of hands on praise. I am also talking to her in a quiet, high pitched, happy voice, telling her how good she's doing and how beautiful she is! It really doesn't matter what comes out of your mouth, it's your tone and your energy and body language that goes with your words that makes all the difference!
Be the confidence and energy you want your dog to have, and as always, MAKE TRAINING FUN!β€οΈ
This girl is moving mountains!
Willow π
This little girl has me so proud I could cry today!!
Willow has been with me for 6 days, and I seriously thought I would never get this girl to focus whatsoever π even 48 hours ago was completely different than what she's accomplishing today!! I couldn't get her to stay on track for more than a few seconds, and as soon as a simple distraction came into play, I would lose her completely.
You can see her head going back and forth between focusing on me and looking at distractions in a few of these beginning clipsπ€ this cracks me up because she's truly trying sooooo hardππ€£
Notice how much I'm interacting with her during our workout part of this video, I am also constantly talking to her in a happy voice the entire time, this is so very important for your training! Make training fun! You've got to be more fun than a person walking by, or in her case, something as simple as a dot on the floor ππ€£
If I wasn't someone fun to work for, Willow would not want anything to do with me. This is the difference hands on and verbal rewards can make! There are no treats involved here!β€οΈ
Baron π
This boy graduated from my 2 week program yesterday!!
This guy is a big sweetheart, but he was a little "naughty"π
The handsome man in the video is also my boyfriend, and I wanted both Lance and Baron to be able to not only be a part of our lives together in a more positive way, I also wanted these two to be able to do more together and build an even better bond!
So, being the sweet girlfriend I am, I stepped in and helped a little bit, plus , I'll take any opportunity I can get to boss Lance around π€·ββοΈπ€£π€£
I am so proud of these two and so excited for them to be able to spend more time together and get out and do all the fun stuff!
Montana π
This girl graduated today!!
I am so proud of this girl and her family!!
Montana is a high energy girl, and what she's doing today would have not been possible a couple weeks ago!!
Today we met at Scheels, and it was so packed! Tons of people, a few other dogs, lots of new sights and smells! I am so proud of her!!
Her family has done an amazing job working hard and learning throughout our lessons together!
So proud of this team!
Baron π
This boy is out running errands with me this afternoon! He completes his 2 week training this weekend!
This boy is doing so well!! He was a hard core leash puller, like he would make a great sled dogππ€£
Look at that loose leash today!!!
He also has quite a bit of anxiety, so I'm extremely proud of this big guy! He has been making a ton of progress!!!
He got lots of attention from the employees as well!! He's such a big sweetheart!
This could be you and your dog!β€οΈ

Montana π
This girl has been with me for one week and had her first lesson with her family today!
I am so proud of this little girl! She was a hard core leash puller a week ago π€£
She is so smart, and so rewarding to work with!
