IN THE NEWS:MO - ‘We have completely lost control’: Kansas City animal shelters speak on overcrowding crisis

"'It’s a really big problem that we have completely lost control over, and now we are trying to climb a waterfall with no rope.'

Washington said shelters now have to make hard decisions.

'We’re not going to adopt our way out,' she said. 'We are going to have to make a lot of euthanasia decisions. And shelters that house animals for longer than two-to-three months have to put them down. They have to make hard choices.

'That is why the message that we continue and will always preach is spay and neuter your pets. Stop making more animals.'"

Kansas City animal shelters are dealing with an overcrowding crisis, along with the rest of the nation.
