❗️This is the latest update from the Iowa Dept. Of Agricultural. We are committed to doing our part by staying up to date on information regarding this illness. In addition, we are staying diligent in our cleaning and disinfecting policies.

🐾We are lucky in the fact that we are a small facility, by appointment only, and do not offer boarding or daycare services.

⚠️Please note: While there is a current up-take in cases and information circulating the news and social medias, CIRDC is not a NEW virus but a combination of several viruses as well as bacteria. There are already vaccinations available to help protect your pup against these viruses. Some of which you may already have as we do require Rabies and Distemper/ Parvo vaccinations.

🐕If you do feel the need to cancel your appointment, we do require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule to avoid a $25 fee.

If you do have any additional questions or concerns, we are more than happy to answer them for you.

DogWorks Fam,

In light of the recent reports about the dog
illness circulating, we understand the concerns
that arise. We want to assure our clients that
we are aware of this and have strict cleaning
procedures in place throughout our facility. Our
commitment has always been the health and
safety of everyone at DogWorks. We will
continue to clean and disinfectant our facility
with extreme caution related to this illness.

This is presenting as a respiratory virus, with
symptoms relatable to kennel cough.
(Coughing, sneezing, nasal or eye discharge
and lethargy.) This is why just like a daycare or
school, we ask that you keep your dog home
any time you notice your pup coughing,
sneezing or ill in any way. We know we cannot
catch everything, which is why we implement
daily cleaning procedures to minimize the
spread of germs

⚠️If you feel the need to cancel or reschedule
your appointment, we completely understand.
We do REQUIRE at least a 24 hours notice to
cancel or reschedule an appointment, to avoid
a $25.00 cancelation fee at your next visit.
Please give us the courtesy of at least that as
all of mv groomers are commission based.

⚠️To further protect our guests, we require
vaccinations for Distemper, Parvo, and Rabies,
This has ALWAYS been a REQUIREMENT of our
facility as well as the lowa Department of
Agricultural. If your pet is NOT current on
vaccinations, you WILL be turned away, in
efforts to keep everyone's pet safe.

At this point, we have been closed since
Thursday 11/23 and have had no reports of
sick/ill dogs in our facility. If numbers/
cancelation rise, we will re-evaluate amd
consider our options

Ways to protect your pup:🐶
Be diligent about your pet's health.
If you notice your pup has influenza symptoms,
please keep them home and seek treatment
from your veterinarian. Symptoms include
coughing, runny nose, sneezing, low appetite,
and lethargy. Your veterinarian will decide if
medication is needed.
Keep your pup up to date on all vaccinations.
Avoid public play areas that don't require
vaccinations.

At DogWorks, we are dedicated to providing a

⚠️Big Announcement⚠️

I'm very pleased to announce that 🐾Dogworks will be adding another full-time groomer to our already amazing team.🐾 Amber has 5 years of grooming experience and a degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Kansas State. We are excited to have her. I know she'll be a great fit!💚🖤💚🖤

Inevitably, with that comes the extremely bittersweet end of my (Leah-Owner) 15 year grooming career.

I first want to say Thank you for all of your support and trust in myself and the whole Dogworks team. I still can't believe that just 4 short years ago, Dogworks was just an idea. If it weren't for all of my clients support, Dogworks wouldn't be what it is today and I am forever grateful for that.

It's not easy to realize this is happening so fast. As the business grows, so do my responsibilities as the owner.

It is with the heaviest heart😥💔 that I'm announing, as of January 17th, 2023, I will no longer be grooming.

But this is not Goodbye! I will still be very much involved and in the shop daily to over-see the business. This means I will still get to smooch and snuggle all of your pups as I continue togrow this business and hopefully create more opportunities in the future. It is an absolute blessing to be living out my childhood dreams of working with animals. I can't say enough how much I have loved caring for and pampering your babies. Thank you for allowing me these many years to love and bond with your pups, as I have always been a dog lover. I feel fortunate that even though we no longer have family dogs of our own, (for now) I am able to come to work and fill my gaps with all of your pets. I truly have the best job in the world.

I understand the many concerns that may come with this news, and I am hoping to clear up some questions. All of my clients will be moved and scheduled with one of our other experienced groomers. I will do my best to keep you on your regular schedule, but there may be some changes that need to be made, based on availibility. I will reach out to individuals as necessary to make sure this transition goes smoothly. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or specific concerns for your pet.

Hello DogWorks Family! 💚🐾🖤🐕🐩🐶

We want to first start by thanking you all for your continued support through 2022. We are so grateful for each and every one of you and your pups, and want to thank you for putting your full trust in us to care for your furry family members. We truly love what we do!

2022 has been full of ups and downs for us as a small business. As we continue to grow, we will be implementing an $3 price increase, to ensure that we can continue to serve this community. We will be adding an additional employee this year and must consider the needs of the business. Due to inflation and the rising cost to maintain our equipment, cost of supplies, as well as a competitive grooming market, we will be increasing our pricing starting January 1st 2023.

This is not a decision we took lightly and have considered every aspect of our new pricing as it pertains to our new and returning customers. We have consulted with fellow groomers in the industry, as well as other salons in the nearby and surrounding areas and feel this is minimal, yet necessary.

😕We'd like to take this time to remind everyone that we do charge $25.00 for cancelations/ reschedules without at least 24 hours notice. Our groomers work on commission, so when you no-show or cancel/reschedule last minute, it directly affects their paychecks. With Christmas right around the corner, this time of year can be financially taxing for all. Please have enough respect to give us a minimum of 24 hours notice to try to fill your appointment slot. We understand things come up, but a call, e-mail,text, or message here will make all the difference.

My Story

My name is Leah and I am the owner and soul groomer of DogWorks LLC. I founded the company in 2019 after 12 years in the corporate grooming industry. After over a decade of experience, I took a leap of faith and opened DogWorks. My passion is grooming pets. Making your pets look and feel their best is my number one priority.

I have always been passionate about animals, from taking in strays as a young girl to completing my Vet Tech degree at Des Moines Area Community College after high school. I build a unique bond with every pet I groom and believe establishing a trusting relationship with my clients is the key to a healthy & happy grooming experience.

I pride myself on keeping my shop clean, quiet, and comfortable, creating a stress-free environment for your pet. As the soul groomer of DogWorks, you can be assured that your pet will receive one-on-one attention throughout their visit.
