5️⃣ Tips for Owners Struggling to get Peace in their Home!! 🐕🏡☮️
1️⃣ Make Small Changes, Everyday
Keep it simple, one small change at a time!
Create a routine with expected behaviors and reinforce them consistently.
This makes your success sustainable!

2️⃣ Use a Leash
A leash is the best communication tool that allows you to MOVE your dog and keep everyone and everything SAFE as you build your leash handling skills!!
Most dogs love to play the “chase me” game. By keeping your dog on leash you do not inadvertently create bad habits you’ll have to break later.
Leading your dog around on a leash vs letting them free roam prevents chewing, potty accidents and a plethora of other doggie mischief! 💩
3️⃣ Kennel Train your Dog
A kennel gives your dog a safe place of their own and builds healthy and safe coping skills. It is not a punishment, it has exponential benefits. ⛑️
Kenneling completely mitigates the worry of destructive doggies when you cannot closely monitor your dog’s activities.
4️⃣ Place Train your Dog
Using a place cot or bed is a great companion to kennel training because it helps your dog relax while observing life around them.
The PLACE command gives your dog clear boundaries of where to be and how to act calmly.
Place can be generalized everywhere like outdoor events, coffee shops, kayaks!! 🛶
5️⃣ Stop Naughty Behaviors
Ironically, most dogs only need 1 or 2 proper corrections to change their behavior. Once your dog understands what you do not want them to do it becomes fairly easy to train them what you do want them to do.
Creating peace in your homes starts by establishing clear rules for your dog and ignoring or redirecting the behavior is not clear. A proper punishment is not abuse and does not harm your relationship.

Her mission to prevent rehoming is a difficult one but she doesn’t give up on finding a solution where everyone wins!

We are so excited to announce that we have stopped Remi, Murphy & Duke from being surrendered to a shelter, the boys are heading off to be working dogs and their fabulous new lives!!!
Please help us to reach our goal of $600 and to continue our efforts to keep dogs out of shelters by donating to www.bullystrong.org/donate
BullyStrong offers people free training to help families keep their dogs from being surrendered, but sometimes it doesn’t work out and the pups truly need a new home. And for these boys we discovered that they have a tremendously high play/food drive or desire to do a task and would be best suited to be working dogs!!
Murphy & Duke have such a high energy and toy drive that they are excellent candidates for Scent work. Remi has such a high drive to perform tasks that he will be a great candidate to be a Veterans Service Dog!
The pups will be heading to Virginia for training on transport at the end of the week. DAWGZ, TAILZ & WAGZ has offerered to donate Remi and his adoption fee to get him to his Veteran adopter and we have offered to donate Duke and his adoption fee to get all 3 pups into these amazing jobs!

Don’t hold onto that story for too long, as it’s probably the reason you feel “stuck” with your progress.
We get emails every day about “rescue dogs” who are struggling with every behavioral issue imaginable: aggression, fear, reactivity, anxiety, leash pulling, etc.
behaviors all dogs typically struggle with whether they’re rescued or not. We see dogs come from breeders at 8 weeks old who grow up to have these problems, too.
Owners are often avoiding the work that NEEDS to be done in fear of making things worse— which is a thing being told out there. “You can’t correct your rescue dogs, they’ve already been through enough” so they get free passes on terrible behavior to the point where it’s destroying people’s lives.
Whether your dog came from a puppy mill, the side of the road, or has some other story they were passed onto you with, what matters is the dog’s behavior TODAY and what can you be doing to change it?
You certainly can’t change the past, so why not at least try and give the dog a shot at the best future possible?
Thank you Dave from Empowered K9 Training for the critical message that while “accidents” can happen there are many things (picking up tempting items and reinforcing known boundaries of what’s acceptable and what’s not) we can do to minimize and ideally prevent these scary and expensive situations!

A new episode of Tail Tales!!! This is the hunting dog Hunter🦆He has gone on kayaks, camping trips, and helped to collect birds on hunting trips for his wonderful owner - truly the PERFECT adventure dog🏜️ Now, why is he in this episode of Tail Tales? Well, he wasn’t always as excellent as he is now… In fact, he wasn’t even allowed in the same room as the children he now cuddles in the car with because of how constantly anxiously overwhelmed he was (Pop Rocks brain, as I like to call it). But after a board and train with prong and eCollar, he is now the goofy guy you see in the picture today!!! Lots of love for this guy🐾💛🐾
Howdy everyone! Today we’re kicking off a new series called “Tail Tales” to celebrate some of our favorite dogs! Up first is a Stella Novella!! She was a stray dog that was adopted right at the clinic
Stella came to us with semi-feral (stubborn) behaviors, we literally had to tip the kennel over just to get her out and keep her on a leash outside over a month or she would never have come in! Now, she’s a sweet (still stubborn) dog who’s family loves her and can take her anywhere they want without the worry of her running off! We love this silly girl and are grateful she’s safe with confident leaders! 🐾💛🐾

His owner has done a wonderful job getting him ready with fantastic kennel manners and a zest for learning and fun! 📚 During his 3 week eCollar Board & Train program Bruno will become reliable to all his basic obedience commands; sit, down, place, heel, recall & out. This will give his owner the confidence in her communication with him and feel safe anywhere they go. 🗺️ Bruno will also learn how to make better choices as he develops a calmer state of mind in all he does. We will stop unwanted behaviors like excess barking when alone (separation anxiety) and jumping on new people. His mom gave him a great headstart while his big sister Kalee was here & now he's leaping to his training!
