✨ We’ve talked about the benefits of the Cold Salt Water Spa…. LETS DO IT AGAIN💪✨

✅ Primary Benefits for Equine Lower Limbs:

❄️1. Reduces Inflammation & Swelling.
Cold water therapy constricts blood vessels (vasoconstriction), which reduces blood flow to inflamed tissues.
This helps prevent or reduce swelling, especially after hard exercise, jumping, or galloping.

❄️2. Pain Relief.
The cold numbs nerve endings, which can provide immediate relief from soreness or pain.
Particularly helpful for horses with existing conditions like laminitis, tendonitis, or arthritis.

❄️3. Speeds Up Recovery.
Cold saltwater promotes faster muscle and soft tissue recovery by reducing metabolic rate and cellular damage.
Especially useful in competition horses that need to perform multiple times over a short period.

❄️4. Injury Prevention.
Regular use after work helps manage microtrauma before it develops into full-blown injuries.
Helps maintain soundness by addressing subclinical inflammation.

❄️5. Cleans and Disinfects Lower Limbs.
The salt in the water is naturally antiseptic, helping reduce the risk of infection from minor cuts, scrapes, or fungal issues like mud fever.
Very helpful for horses working in muddy or sandy environments.

🌡️ Extra Benefits in Hot Temperatures:
Cools Down Quickly: Provides a fast and effective way to lower body temperature in overheated horses.

❄️Reduces Heat Stress: Prolonged exercise in the heat can increase limb temperature, raising the risk of tendon and ligament injury. The spa helps offset that heat buildup.

❄️Improves Comfort and Willingness to Train: Horses often show increased comfort and relaxation after sessions in hot weather.

🧊 What Makes CET Spa Unique?
CET (Cryo-Spa Equine Therapy) machines often combine:

❄️Chilled water (around 2–4°C / 35–40°F)
Aeration (bubble massage)

❄️Salt infusion (antiseptic and anti-inflammatory)
This combination delivers a triple therapeutic effect unmatched by ice boots or cold hosing alone.

📅 Ideal Use Cases
Post-workout recovery (especially in hot weather)
Prevention during intense training blocks
Injury rehab (e.g., tendon, ligament, or joint issues)
Daily maintenance in competition horses

Why are horses a release for people?

Because they bring life back to its simplest, most honest form.

In a world flooded with noise, emails, deadlines, and expectations, horses offer something rare: stillness. They remind us that real communication isn’t built on words—it’s built on presence. On energy. On intention. On awareness.

When you’re with a horse, your words mean nothing. But your actions? Your body language, your energy? That’s everything. You can’t fake confidence with a horse. You can’t hide behind charm, posture, or excuses. They reflect you—your fear, your calm, your frustration, your peace—exactly as you are.

That’s why time with horses is 90% self-reflection. They invite you to quiet down, to slow your breath, to notice. To tune in not just to them, but to yourself—your thoughts, your posture, your presence. They pull you out of your head and into the moment.

They bring us back to a way of being that’s older than language. A way where trust and connection were built not on promises, but on energy, consistency, and respect. Horses teach us how to just be—without all the layers life stacks on top.

That’s why people heal around them. Horses don’t care about your past, your job, or your story. They care about your energy, here and now. And there’s something profoundly freeing about being seen for your truest self—without judgment, without words.

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the birth of a nation built on hope, courage, and the unwavering belief in freedom. As fireworks light up the sky, let’s pause to honor those who have fought—and continue to fight—for the liberties we hold dear.

With pride in our hearts, we remember our shared history and the enduring strength of the American spirit. With gratitude, we thank those who serve and protect, who lead and uplift, and who make our communities brighter every day. And with joy, we come together—family, friends, neighbors—to celebrate all that unites us.

Here's to freedom, unity, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
Wishing you a safe and joyful Independence Day!

❤️💙

This tribute to Ruby and the coal mine horses is deeply moving—poetic, even. The heart of these animals is astonishing!
It captures the quiet nobility and resilience of animals who labored unseen, often unacknowledged, in brutal conditions. Horses like Ruby weren’t just beasts of burden; they were partners in survival, enduring the same darkness and danger as the miners they served beside.

The image of Ruby stepping into the light for the first time, draped in flowers, with music playing, is hauntingly beautiful—a small gesture of gratitude at the end of a life spent in service. There's something profoundly symbolic about it: a return to the light, to air, to recognition. It's as if, after years of being forgotten underground, she was finally seen.

These horses are ghosts of the coal mines—not in a supernatural sense, but as enduring spirits of labor, loyalty, and sacrifice. They remind us not just of the cost of progress, but of the silent companions who bore it with us.

✨My Peaceful Space✨

There’s a peace in the quiet sound of a horse chewing,
a kind of stillness you can feel.
A horse doesn’t try to fix you —
they just stand beside you, present.

And somehow, the weight you’ve been dragging around feels lighter.
No questions.
No pressure.
Just space to exist —
tangled, tired, joyful, anxious, fully human.

The barn doesn’t care if you showed up with tears in your eyes.
It opens its doors anyway.

And the horses?
They listen with more than ears —
they listen with their hearts.

It’s not therapy.
But it’s something like healing.
A medicine made of silence, presence, and connection.
The kind that touches places words can’t quite reach.

💦 Meet Radar 💦

One of my husband’s good heel horses decided kicking through the fence at his brother was a smart move… with bad knees, no less 🤦‍♀️

Thankfully, we’ve got the saltwater spa on our side! 🤣

All jokes aside, cold water therapy is one of the most effective tools we use to keep our horses sound and performing at their best. It’s been a game changer for recovery and joint health, especially during these Arizona summers!

✨Energy Matters!!!✨

High energy. Low energy. Nervous energy.
Horses recognize it—and they feed off of it.

Have you ever walked into the barn—or your home—carrying someone else’s frustration (or your own), only to have it blow back in your face?
Whether it’s your horse, your kids, your spouse... they feel what you bring.
And they respond in kind.

Read that again: They feel what you bring and respond in kind.
“Frustration begins where knowledge ends.” Sit with that.

I can’t tell you how many accidents we’d have in the barn if we met every nervous horse’s energy with more nerves. If we didn’t offer them a calm place to land when they needed it most.

Why don’t we do that more in our personal lives?
Why don’t we offer calm when calm is what’s needed—instead of matching chaos with chaos?

When you’re working with animals—especially horses—your energy isn’t just a mood.
It’s a message.
It can ground or ignite. Soothe or startle. Heal or harm.

That’s why it is absolutely critical to learn how to manage your energy—not just in the barn, but in life.

The lessons we learn with horses don’t stop at the barn door.
They show up in how we parent.
How we show up in our relationships.
How we navigate conflict and tension.

Because here’s the truth:
The energy you feed the most is the one that will prevail—good, bad, or indifferent.

So if you’re having a rough day, and you can’t shake it off when you pick up that halter—
do yourself and your horse a favor.
Turn around. Go back to the house.
Take a breath. Regroup.
Don’t come back until you can offer them the energy they deserve.
Be their steady, be their calm. You’re family deserves the same❤️

The multifidus, longissimus, and iliocostalis muscles in horses are key components of the epaxial musculature, which lies along the spine and plays a crucial role in posture, movement, and stability of the vertebral column. Here's a breakdown of their importance:

1. Multifidus Muscle
Function: Stabilizes individual vertebrae.
Importance:
Deep, segmental muscle that helps control fine movements and intervertebral stability.
Critical in maintaining core strength and spinal alignment, especially during dynamic activities.
Weakness or asymmetry in the multifidus is linked to back pain and poor performance.
Plays a role in rehabilitation after injury, particularly in core strengthening programs.
2. Longissimus Dorsi Muscle
Function: Extends and laterally flexes the back; major mover of the spine.
Importance:
The largest and most powerful back muscle in the horse.
Transmits power from the hindquarters to the front end (important in collection, jumping, and galloping).
Contributes to spinal extension, helping the horse lift and round the back.
Can become tight or sore with poor saddle fit, incorrect training, or overuse.
3. Iliocostalis Muscle
Function: Stabilizes and extends the vertebral column; aids in lateral movement.
Importance:
Less well-known than the others, but contributes to spinal posture and movement of the rib cage.
Assists in lateral flexion of the trunk, important for bending and turning.
Works synergistically with other epaxial muscles to allow fluid, coordinated movement.
Overall Significance:
Together, these muscles:

Support the spine against gravity and dynamic forces.
Enable collection, bending, and balance during athletic activities.
Are key to core stability, which is essential for soundness and performance.
Must be kept strong, supple, and symmetrical through correct training and conditioning.
If these muscles are compromised—through injury, poor conditioning, or incorrect tack—they can lead to:

Loss of performance
Back pain or soreness
Compensatory lameness
Behavioral issues under saddle

Chelsea’s Story

Chelsea Miller is a life long Cowgirl and horse / animal lover who is anything but new to the game. Chelsea has spent her life around horses, providing her with irreplaceable experience. Chelsea grew up in Pocatello, Idaho on the back of a horse spending the majority of her time riding in the arena with her family. Chelsea’s mom trained barrel horses at night after work. On the weekends they hauled to jackpots, open rodeos and wherever else her and her sister could compete

and mom could season colts. This is where the love and soul fueling obsession truly began.

Chelsea moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2013 and met her now husband, Shannon Miller, of Miller Fence And Barns. They have since built an amazing life together that is centered around horses, both personally and professionally. When Chelsea is not working on horses, she finds herself spending hours in the arena with young colts, training her own barrel horses or

hauling to team roping’s with her husband Shannon.
