I am just adding a few more photos of the Doma Vaquera saddle so that you can better the many layers that go into making the saddle. This is just an FYI posting. And now I am done for now with all my photos from the weekend event. GO OUT AND RIDE THIS WEEKEND!

So, two things happening in these photos -- a quick demonstration in dressage and the great Leah Strid showing us the rigging of these saddles while she is in them. I had never really been a fan of dressage, but I am about to be. And these saddles make it look more comfortable! I think I am really going to like this sport! Come join us in this new adventure!

Another day of posting pictures from the weekend clinic....here, I thought I would show some of the tack on the horse. In this case, the model is also 1/2 Andalusian. This particular saddle, according to Leah Strid: "The Alta Escuela saddle is also known as the "Spanish School" saddle", and she is fitting up the crupper on the saddle. She also has the mosquero on the bridle modeled on the horse. Yes, I am learning all kinds of new equine terms and I love it! Leah Strid, if you get a chance, could you add some commentary to your tack set up, also?

So, part of the reason for breaking the photos up over several days is to give everyone a chance to comment on the things that they have learned to add to our pool of knowledge about this sport. Here, I really want to thank Leah Strid for bringing her tack along to show some of the traditions that come with Working Equitation. This is a sport that highlights the Spanish traditions and you can really see that in the tack that many people use in this sport. But don't let that stop you! We take all disciplines!

Leah, if you see this post, I hope you will add some info about the two different types of saddles that we are looking at here.

This is mostly my "THANK YOU" post to the folks who came out for the clinic and to the sponsors. Brenda Wasser of Wasser Farms https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057452229241 in Foristell, MO is on the horse and was a great facilitator and hostess of this first event. Second, I want to thank Friends of Sound Horses https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064502598047for sponsoring our lunch, Third, I met Mandy Chao of www.trilogysaddles.com, who was kind enough to keep us all hydrated with the cooler of water! And thank you to all the volunteers and the 'behind the scenes' folks whose names I didn't catch.

More to come, but back to work for now. Reality as set in again.

So, I have promised a few photos of yesterday's clinic and I will be posting a little bit each day until I get them all up. The first part of the clinic was the obstacle course that Brenda Wasser set up as close to the rules as she was able with the equipment that she had on hand. While I tried to document the javelin and ring part, I confess that I am -- apparently -- an idiot about how to do videos with my camera phone. Meanwhile, enjoy!

Good evening, WE folks! The response for practice barns has been overwhelming! Enough so, that I have lost track of who all volunteered their barns for practice and shows.
SO, please feel free to put your barns up in the responses below and I will reassemble the list and start putting some schedules together. I am so impressed with the responses, all greatly appreciated; just remember there is going to be equipment involved, so that is something to think about.
As for the participants, hang in there. As soon as I have a barn list, I will start asking for folks who want to participate.
THANK YOU ALL AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Happy Thanksgiving, folks, looking forward to a busy practice season next year!

Thank you, everyone, who came to the meeting. It was great to meet and talk with you all. I have about 2 pages worth of notes that I will be posting in the next day or two. Stay tuned, have a good Thankgiving, and ride on!

Don't forget! Today is the day, guys! 4 pm in Wentzville.

Ok, it looks like the Sunday crowd won! Nov 19th, 4 pm, Stefaniana's Pizzeria, 726 W Pearce Blvd, Wentzville. Sorry, guys, I can't do Sunday morning. I won't bore you with details, but that is a regular gig for me.

It's deer hunting rifle weekend, can't trail ride, anyway!
