We just crunched💪 the numbers🐾 and... We are at 779 surgeries for 2024!!! We are less than 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ away from the number we performed all of 2023! How 🙌amazing🙌 is that?! We are so happy to be here and so excited to be a part of the lakes community! Thank you to everyone who has and is bringing their pets to us. February is Feline Fix by Five awareness month! We’re helping to spread the word about the best time to spay and neuter kittens – BEFORE five months of age! Kittens can be safely spayed or neutered once they are two months (or once they weigh two pounds). As of today 🐶🐱... We have performed 38 MORE spays and neuters than we did at the end of March 2023📈!! How ✨awesome ✨is that?!

In 2023, our first full year of business, we performed 1,174 spays and neuters. Our goal is 2,400 spays and neuters in 2024!

Update: our dog spay appointment has been filled but we do still have male dog openings!

Due to a cancellation, we have 1 opening for a female dog spay that is 50 pounds or under on Thursday December 7th. This is our last female dog opening until January! If you are wanting to spay your dog before the new year, now is the time!

If you are seeing our jar for the first time… Each marble represents a spay or neuter surgery that we have performed this year. We thought it would be a fun visual tool!

Most shelters and rescues are non-profit organizations but we still felt that they deserve a big ole shout out on this Small Business Saturday! We have worked in or with shelters/rescues for many years and we cannot even put into words how much we love rescue work! The amount of love that these organizations, employees and volunteers put into each and every animal that walks into their doors is heartwarming. A lot of people may not know the work that goes on behind the scenes in the shelter/rescue world but it never ends! From the heart-wrenching cases to the happy “tails” they get to tell, fundraising to keep the doors open, to the day to day cleaning and enrichment of animals in their care… It takes village, that live, breathe, sweat and bleed for these animals! We love each and every one of you!

We had quite the eventful morning! A cat had escaped its carrier when coming into the clinic. Luckily, with some wonderful help, we were able to catch the kitty safely.

Please, please, please… Whenever transporting animals, especially cats, ensure they are in a secure carrier! As we all know most cats are extremely stressed when being transported. If you are questioning your carrier, reach out to the clinic you are bringing your cat to. Chances are they have a carrier you can borrow for the duration of your visit.

We were very fortunate to be able to catch this scared girl. This is not always the case. Since most veterinary clinics are located by very busy roads, our morning could have been devastating!

Help your feline friend feel more secure and safe with these carrier tips! Another helpful tip is to have their carrier out in the open (if your living space allows) so they can explore the carrier and get comfortable with it!
