Our Story
Our founder, Toshina Crawford, of Detroit, MI fell in love with Cocker Spaniels when she was just a toddler. Her love for the breed developed by watching a family classic, her favorite Disney movie, “Lady and the Tramp”. Toshina adopted her first Cocker Spaniel, on Christmas Eve of 2016, for her son and he named him “Ahke”; short for Ahkenaten. She drove nearly three hours from Detroit, MI to Dowagiac, MI, not only to get her new fur ever baby, but also two other times just to visit him. Again, driving nearly 4 hours from Michigan to Ohio, to adopt her second Cocker Spaniel Nefertiti. She then realized how hard it was to find a full bred Cocker Spaniel near the inner city. It was because of those long trips on the road she became inspired to found The Pawfect Pooch, established Jul. 01, 2019
Here at the Pawfect Pooch we are dedicated to upholding the ethics and breeding practices of being responsible breeders. Our mission is to breed healthy, happy puppies, that are ideal in temperament and health. The Pawfect Pooch’s breed of choice is the American Cocker Spaniel. They are high in energy, loyal and also, lots of fun. These qualities alone makes them the perfect family companion and/or therapy dog. Further more, they're great with children and other pets.
Our vision is to build a highly competitive and effective dog breeding business. Most importantly, we want to help improve the overall betterment of an already awesome breed. The Pawfect Pooch is striving to become the number one choice for both individuals and corporate organizations looking to adopt American Cocker Spaniels in Metro Detroit – Michigan.
