Harley was struggling with hair loss and obesity when she arrived at Michigan Humane. Thanks to the care of our veterinary team, we were able to diagnose her with hypothyroidism and get her on a treatment plan. Once she started feeling better, she was ready to find her forever home. ❤️

The month of September in our pet calendar belongs to Daisy! 🌼

Daisy's pet parents tell us: "Daisy was rescued on the streets of Cincinnati, displaying signs of abuse and neglect. She found herself the resident of two foster homes, the second being ours. After having Daisy for six weeks, we couldn't give her up! She's timid around strangers, but to us she's a big goof with a big heart — always delivering endless joy."

Through our Canine Sleepover Program, you can give a dog a night out of the shelter environment to decompress and have fun.

Buffalo Bill, our longest-term canine resident at our Berman Center for Animal Care in Westland, recently went on a sleepover and got to enjoy a hike in the woods, lots of toys, and a comfy bed to snooze on. He was deemed a "fantastic house guest."

Goldfinch and Oriole arrived at our Berman Center for Animal Care in Westland together as strays. They are both shy and fearful cats who have struggled to acclimate to the shelter. Last week, after almost 4 months in our care, they were adopted together. Their new owner plans to keep working on their social skills in their new home. Thanks to the help of our partner Purina, we will never stop caring for pets like Goldfinch and Oriole, who just need a little extra love and patience.

Transformation Tuesday! One of our clients was recently in need of grooming services for their dog, Casey. Our generous partner Canine to Five immediately offered their services and gave this pet a much-needed makeover. Casey's owner reports that she's "acting like a whole new lady."
