It’s currently a frozen tundra outside but the horses at Arrow Equestrian are nice and toasty! -10 outside and 30 in the barn! Thank goodness for this amazingly built barn!

Happy Day of the Horse!

We thought today would be the perfect day to introduce our new AE family member!
Feets of Feather aka Feets will be in our lesson program. We are so excited for this awesome girl, she will arrive tomorrow!

Whip is a 7 year old 16.3h TB gelding.
In the barn he has a laid back personality and is total puppy dog. He loves to spend time outside with his friends. Has lived out 24/7 and has been stalled over night he doesn’t mind either. He’s even neat in his stall! He currently requires no maintenance. He wears simple shoes in the front.

Whip is a pretty straight forward ride. He is a great balance of forward with great breaks. He is not spooky by nature. All in all he is down for pretty much anything you throw at him! Right now since he is still is on the greener side he requires an intermediate/advanced rider. I could see him with an AA in a program or a young pro wanting to bring a talented horse up the levels.

Whip has been to some local schooling shows. Most recently he did a beginner novice combine training and won his class! He is currently schooling 2’9” courses at home with scope for the higher!

Arrow Equestrian is looking to add another horse loving person or several people to the family! We are in need of some feeders Friday evenings and weekends as well as a stall cleaner for the weekend days!

AE is a boarding and training facility located in Dewey IL, only 30 minutes from Champaign! We are a small facility of only 13 stalls filled with kind and friendly horses!

Job responsibilities:
-Morning and evening feedings of hay and grain
-Turning out and bringing in horses
-Cleaning 13 stalls
-Dumping and scrubbing water buckets

Requirements:
-17+
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
-Must feel comfortable and confident with handling horses of all ages and sizes

The job pays $15 an hour or you can work in exchange for lessons!

The stall cleaner position pays $5 a stall or in exchange for lessons!

With the Kentucky Derby this weekend we thought we would do an OTTB appreciation post!
Our OTTBs have a wide variety of experience on tracks all over the country! These are some special horses who are either enjoying a new career in the eventing/dressage world or they are still figuring out what their next job will be. We love all breeds here at Arrow Equestrian but OTTBs will always have a special place in our hearts!

Haze “Hazy Davy” had 22 starts and 1 win on the track
Marida “Mongolian Rahy” had 13 starts and 1 win on the track
Maeve “Waddle” had 53 starts and 6 wins on the track
Archer “Nan’s Pierce Arrow” had 33 starts and 2 wins on the track

Katie “Stamp It Katie” had 4 starts and 0 wins on the track

We have happy ponies here at Arrow Equestrian! After lots of hand grazing to get them used to the spring grass, they are finally able to go out on the pastures!
