Update on Gabby's litter. Gabby was not eating and pups were losing weight, especially little boy so I took them to my Vet Thursday. They were so very tiny at birth and still are! Little girl pup's lungs & heart are good, but little boy has an irregular heart beat 😪
It turns out there was a 7th pup that died during the same time that 10 of my dogs had a gastrointestinal virus including pregnant Gabby & Talli. Gabby's body is doing what it was designed to do and absorbing the fetus. But since her body is putting its efforts on that task, her milk is not as rich in nutrients as it should be. We have her on a special diet and she is eating better now. I have to keep a close eye on her for signs of infection.
We are fighting hard to save her puppies. We tried supplementing with bottles but they just couldn't get the hang of it and continued to lose weight so I am using Talli. 🙂 I have them nurse Talli for 10 min. Then finish on Gabby every 3 - 4 hours. Little girl is fighting to survive and doing better but not out of the woods by a long shot. Little boy is no longer fighting, he will not suck at all and I am losing the battle 😭
Please pray for baby girl ~ Birdie!! Pray little boy ~ Bogey, turns around and starts eating and please pray Gabby is able to keep her milk supply so she can raise her puppies 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Side note: when Talli was delivering puppies yesterday she delivered an empty sac that obviously was a puppy that died during the time of the virus. That makes 6 puppy deaths due to the virus (so far) 😭

Before you ask, I have a full waiting list to reach out to so NO, I WILL NOT have any available. 🙂

Gabby had 6 puppies, but 2 were stillborn, 2 died within a couple of hours. But these 2 (a male and a female) are doing great!

I am broken hearted over the loss of the 4 pups, especially the 2 my husband & I fought so hard to save.

Gabby's temp dropped to 98.7 (which means within 12 hours) Talli's spiked to 100.2 yesterday and dropped to 99.7 this morning (which also means within 12 hours) But Gabby is showing more imminent signs so ... soon, very soon. Stay tuned.
I have quite a few on my wait list so I most likely will NOT have any available.
