Did you know we offer spay and neuter services for more than just cats and dogs?

Many species benefit from spay/neuter for various reasons.

Take pigs for example: Spaying/altering pigs reduces the chances of aggressive behavior. Females often exhibit more aggression during heat. Intact females also are at risk for the development of uterine tumors.

We are happy to consult with you about your options and risks for any species!

Skunk tests positive for rabies in Christian County

Keep pets up to date on rabies vaccinations.

Christian County, MO โ€“ A second skunk collected in Christian County has tested positive for rabies. The first skunk was collected in late December from the Clever area, and the second skunk was collected this week in the Billings area. There have been no reports of any humans being bitten.

The reports of these infected animals serve as a reminder that rabies is present and that residents should be cautious around wildlife Keeping pets up to date on rabies vaccinations is the best way to prevent infections in pets and their owners.

Rabies information:

In Missouri, the animals most often found with rabies are bats and skunks.

The rabies virus is found in the saliva and brain tissue of an infected animal.

Humans and pets can become exposed to rabies through bites or scratches from an infected animal.

ยท Rabies is deadly in people if medical care is not received before symptoms start.

ยท Rabies in humans is completely preventable after exposure by promptly seeking medical care and receiving treatment called post-exposure prophylaxis.

ยท Consult a healthcare provider regarding contact to an animal with possible rabies to determine if post-exposure treatment is needed.

The Christian County Health Department recommends the following actions:

Ensure your pets are properly vaccinated against rabies.

Avoid direct contact with wild animals or unknown pets.

Report animal incidents or potentially rabid animals, to prevent the spread of the disease to the Christian County Health Department or local law enforcement agency.

People bitten or scratched by an animal should clean the wound immediately with soap and water and seek any necessary medical care.

Contact your veterinarian for guidance if pets are exposed to an animal that could have rabies.

Just to look back on โ€œRangosโ€ glow up!

January 2023 we were down south working cattle with our good friend Logan Snow. We got the call from our amazing friend Forest Osborn who was house sitting for us about an accident that had occurred.
Rango had been ran through our 5 strand barb wired fence and it wasnโ€™t looking good. Managed to dodge
T-post but was cut up to the extent he needed stitches.
After a long recovery things started looking up for him!
Paisley helped us doctor him and sheโ€™s even helped start him! Keep in mind he is out of her big Gray mare.

Now being a 3 yr old.. heโ€™s just out enjoying being a cowhorse! Just to see him out dragging calves and working cattle is exciting! Paisley is absolutely happy in the direction heโ€™s going.

All of this wouldnโ€™t be possible without our vet and friends. Dr Wil Gentry was able to put him back together and now you can barely see his face scars or leg scars.

๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘€๐ŸพItโ€™s a big day here at ACofD! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘€

Today we are welcoming Dr. Meagan Noblin to our team!

Dr. Noblin is a 2021 graduate of North Carolina State University. She joins the team with 3 years experience as a mixed-animal associate in private practice back in North Carolina!

Dr. Noblin recently made the move West with her pups, Aspen & Laney, cats, Sully & Ryleigh, and her horse Vance.
We couldnโ€™t be more excited to be adding another experienced veterinarian to the staff!

๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ™Dr. Noblinโ€™s schedule is officially open and accepting appointments! If you see her around, please introduce yourself & welcome her to Southwest Missouri! ๐Ÿฆ™๐Ÿ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿ•

Announcement:
Dr. Diggs will begin her maternity leave starting this week. No baby yet, but we are all anxiously awaiting the new addition to our community and ACofD family! ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿผ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐ŸŽƒNo Fear! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ
Dr. Gentry and Dr. Tate are happy to help cover Dr. Diggs' patients during her leave. We will be doing our absolute best to respect this exciting time for the Diggs family. We can run some non-urgent questions/follow-up information passed Dr. Diggs about her cases if we need to!

As most of our frequent flyers know, things stay pretty busy around here. Appointment availability will be even more limited for the next few weeks. Things you can do to help:
- Call and get on the schedule. (don't wait until the last minute if possible)
- Be prepared for drop-off appointments. IF you need us last minute, we will likely suggest a drop off option so we can work you in the schedule.

We know availability can be a common drawback around here. Not only will Dr. Diggs be returning after her leave, but we also have a COUPLE more surprises up our sleeve to address providing more availability.
๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€Look for us to announce some pretty exciting things soon!๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€

๐ŸพThank you for being the best clients around! We couldn't do it without you!๐Ÿพ

A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to keep everything running around here. The business side of a clinic this size often gets overlooked, but itโ€™s more than a full time job. ProPartners has been a great addition to our management team providing outside resources to private practices. We are thankful for all the work they have put in.
