Hello !

I am having knee replacement surgery tomorrow and will be out of commission until mid-January. Hopefully by then I’ll be strong enough to return to work.

Please remember that if you had an appointment scheduled from Dec 11-Dec 31 that it has been CANCELLED. Everyone should have been messaged about the cancellation. If you think you have an appt in that time and haven’t talked to me about cancelling it, please text me.

You also should have a text with a screenshot of your 2026 appointments. Some didn’t get cards because of timing but feel free to ask for one at your next appointment!

Also big thank you to those of you who brought me holiday goodies, presents and tips. I appreciate that ao much and with a month off with no income it’s much needed.

Yuppppp lol

I do text the moment they are done unless a time has been discussed on drop off and I message if I get behind.

Anxiety trigger for almost all groomers that we never talk about.🐾
The dreaded question...how long will this take.
45 minutes to 4 plus hours 🤷‍♀️
Scenario
You have a 10 am for Fluff Butt cutie pants.
You come in we talk and if all goes well you pick up Fluff Butt around 12:30... in the mean time... we wash fluff butt and get him drying and the noon appointment shows up at 11:15 so you stop to check them in and chat. You come back to and Fluff Butt has p*ed a river and and is covered in p**p and p*e. So the new dog is put up and Fluff butt is pulled out for another bath. You start bathing and you are covered in soap and someone comes in.
The person to pick up their dog that was ready at 10:30 is here.
You chit chat check them out but you can't start your noon because you have to start over on Fluff.
You are almost done with fluff and the owners call to see why it is taking so long.
All your concentration is on Fluff now.
Your Noon is still not started and you have another dog coming in soon.
You are full of anxiety and rushing which will cause you to send out a bad groom.
Then the phone rings....
Lastly in walks in a dog that isn't matted according to the owner he gets there and welp matted and very territorial of personal space so you have to spend 10 minutes coaxing him out a kennel.
See how this can snowball quick.

I promise we never are trying to keep your dog longer than they should be here.
Nothing happened today but it does every week.
I have heard lots of complaints about my last groomer kept them all day.
Even in the best run grooming salon it happens.
The variables are great.
I promise I will let you know if we have an issue and when they are ready :)

We have a lot going on next week! Don’t forget about our Pet Photos With Santa! Event on Nov 29 and 30th. We will also be selling homemade brownies, monster cookies, puppy chow, rice crispie bars, hot cocoa (with a topping bar!) and apple cider to support Bakken Paws both days.

On Saturday the 29th, stop by and meet the pet expo board members tortoise gang, affectionately called the “M&M’s” because of their names. Mingo, Mongo, Mango, Munch and Miss Blossom will all be at Woofta Pet Shop waiting to meet you. Come learn all about tortoises and interact with our little gang of troublemakers. Behind the scenes of Spaw day 😂. I'd love to show you Zeus's nails, but instead, here's his butt. On my shoulder. While I do his nails.

Thanksgiving is coming up quick! Get your pups nails ready for family and friends visiting! We smooth them out after clipping so there is no sharp edges! Dogs that have issues with nails or dog families of 3 or more do need appointments - call 483-8899 to book or you can text the grooming phone 701-590-2147.

Baths are picking up as we near Thanksgiving as well, so if you're wanting a bath (with nails done and ears cleaned), text only 701-590-2147. We don't usually book out far ahead (on purpose) but I'd say we need 4-7 days lead at this time. If you need paws or rumps trimmed up (thats the only trimming I do), please specify that so we get you booked correctly. If you have a preference between Myself, Jordan or Abi, also specify that please! Otherwise it's whoever is available. List name (yours and your pups), breed/type, size, deshed or regular bath.

Hello! The 2026 schedule is finished with current clients.

I have some room on the schedule for new clients 🎉 If you are interested in getting on my schedule here are things to know before you fill out the form below:

🐾 I open at 7:45 and close at 1-2pm. I work on multiple dogs at a time to cater to the working crowd so expect your dog to be here 3-4 hours depending on which time slot you are in and plan to be able to pick up by 1 (I text when finished).

🐾 Small breeds only. I do not groom med-large dogs. I will require a photo of your dog to see if they fit in my size limitations. (I do not take on mini doodles unless you keep them in a short clip.)

🐾 I don’t have openings at all in certain months so if you have a breed that requires grooming often I may not be able to accommodate that at times. Jan, April, and May are booked solid. I do have a few openings in Nov of 2025 still, then nothing until Feb.

🐾 I book my people out for the year depending on their choices on the form. You will get a card with your appointments and a text reminder two days before. No shows are charged full price of missed appointment.

The schedule is finally done!!! 😅 I will start giving cards at your next appt and I will also be screenshotting and texting everyone their schedule so you have a copy on your phone as well.

A few have not filled out their forms yet. I will do my best to get you on your requested schedule but you will have to be flexible with what I have left. I’ve sent reminders, it’s up to you now!

I am having surgery again in April and will be off mid April- mid may so the schedule is a little wonky this year, I’m sorry. Health comes first!

I do have some sporadic openings through the year I can fill with new clients however I am picky about what I take. Nothing over 35 lbs and I don’t do longer clips that require a lot of brushing. Dickinson Pet Expo 2025 - Dog Days of Fall!

Q: can my dog come to the expo with me?

A: YES! Dogs will be allowed at expo. We do have some rules though and we will be very firm about enforcing them for the safety of everyone.

💉 All dogs must be current on vaccinations. You will be signing a waiver if you enter the building with a dog stating they are up to date on their vaccines and that you are responsible for your dog and their behavior and health.

😊 Friendly and in control dogs only. If your dog is overly stressed or shows signs of aggression, you will be asked to leave.

💩 There will be potty areas with bags and buckets outside for you to potty and pick up after your own pet.

🐕‍🦺And absolutely NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES. If you bring your dog on a retractable/flexi leash, you will be given a slip lead and need to change the leash out or you will be asked to leave. This is for the safety of all dogs and people in the building. Retractable leashes are not meant to be used in public situations in close contact with other dogs.
