Different breeds of cats mature at slightly different rates. Depending on your kitten's breed, it might take them somewhat longer to mature. Maine C***s, for example, aren't considered mature until about 3 or 4 years old. Some cats never even really outgrow their kitten phase! Looking for more fun facts about your cat? Follow us for more. Chemistry panels help assess your cat's health along with other routine wellness exams. They're best known for evaluating how healthy organs such as the liver, kidneys, and pancreas function. Early signs of liver and kidney disease and diabetes can be detected through this test. A urine sample is also recommended for a thorough check to get a complete picture of your cat's health. Have you scheduled your pet's routine wellness exam? Contact us at (970) 513-8400.

With the busy pace of life, our dogs can't always be with us. We often have to leave them at home and return to them later. As a result, some pets may develop separation anxiety. Fortunately, there are effective ways to help them overcome this. You can train them to understand that you'll be back soon and that there's no need to worry. Techniques like counter-conditioning, gradual desensitization, increasing physical stimulation, and creating a safe space can help. If you need more guidance, please call us at (970) 513-8400.

Cats are nimble, flexible, and quick due to the 230 bones in their body! Despite having an additional 24 bones to that of humans, who only have 206, the skeleton of a cat is very similar to ours. Cats have 13 ribs while humans have 12, and both have clavicles, but unlike humans, they are unattached to other bones. Stay current with your cats' healthcare needs and schedule their appointment by calling (970) 513-8400.

Any behavior or sleep position can stem from a variety of causes. Some may be more subtle reasons than others, but there are none to worry about regarding your pet’s health! In general, when a dog sleeps on its back, it is a good thing. It usually means they are cooling off, feel safe, are showing submission, or are seeking attention. Some will even do it purely out of comfort! If you’re worried about your dog’s sleeping positions, the main thing to keep an eye out for is any sudden changes that coincide with sudden changes in behavior. If you’re unsure, give us a call at (970) 513-8400 where we can better approach the concern.
