Thoroughbred mare with hoof capsule distortion and under run heel. Stewart clog glue and casting. Mare went of the pad much more comfortably pretty good at the walk a little gimpy on the turns but much better.

US-Bred First Classs made history in last weekend's Sheikh Zayed Jewel Crown in Abu Dhabi when he clinched an unprecedented THIRD win in a million-dollar-plus race in the same calendar year, and in doing so beat world-class horses the likes of Lady Princess and others.

Earlier this year, First Classs also won the Al Mneefah Cup in Saudi Arabia in February followed by the Dubai Kahayla Classic a few weeks later in March.

First Classs was bred by Deb Mihaloff and Alan Kirshner's Cre Run Farm and is on lease to Nayef bin Saad bin Sharida Al Kaabi. He is trained by Jean de Mieulle and was ridden by Ronan Thomas. Congratulations to all the winning connections on this horse of a lifetime.

Here is a hoof repair using farrier’s choice quick set to repair/build out some hoof to nail into. Then cover it with equicast. Trim away the cast From the heel bulbs and then nail on the shoe. The horse walked off sound. (Not pictured was the hoof prep - cleaning, trimming out the broken hoof, using the heat gun to dry moisture)

This is worth the read.

Under run heels, negative Palmer angle distortion of the hoof capsule, prolapse/collapse of the digital cushion -happens a lot.

It is preventable and fixable.
