If you are questioning your current saddle or considering a new saddle, this workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to move forward.
This workshop is for the serious equestrian seeking knowledge to make better decisions when choosing and fitting saddles. With visual aids and hands-on opportunities you’ll explore saddle trees and materials, saddles at different stages of construction, and finished saddles with varied design features.
Participants will also develop a design summary for their ideal saddle.
Topics include:
👉 How the saddle tree determines fit and comfort for the horse;
👉 Evaluating back conformation and choosing tree specifications to match;
👉 Fitting the rider with the correct seat size and fender length;
👉 Characteristics of a comfortable seat and how gender plays a role;
👉 Rigging styles and position;
👉 Fork, horn, and cantle variations;
👉 Features that reduce a saddle’s weight;
👉 Tips for evaluating the quality and artistry of a saddle.
