Decided to throw together a different enclosure for Corny for the time being since he's going to need an even bigger upgrade soon! This originally was an inexpensive Greenhouse from Amazon. I switched the tubes around to change the shape. Wrapped in some outdoor netting and added a metal mesh to the top. Used some bamboo patio fencing to create a simple but aesthetically pleasing background. It was a bit of a challenge getting everything to line up and make the door usable but now that it's together I'm happy with it!

Nearly 4 years ago, I produced my 3rd Leachianus Gecko ever! This is an Update on Omega! Named after his head stamp as a baby, he was certainly a surprise when he came out looking the way he did! I learned alot about how Temperature fluctuations and even the hatch media can affect your babies development!

Omega's "different" appearance is the result of an egg being in an environment with a Temperature swing of over 10°F daily during incubation. This caused him to form in different ways and at different intervals, I'm guessing! Causing the malformed Eye and Tail! Typically, when you have a gecko or snake that hatches with abnormalities, they fail to thrive and have a short lifespan. His intense pattern is also typical of an embryo that had hiccups during gestation!

I kept a very close eye on him his first few weeks of life. Being sure that he ate on his own, didn't have problems finding food and could properly p**p of course! He has NEVER given me a problem and clearly has grown into an impressive, albeit special guy!

Animals such as this should NEVER be bred. Although I'm 99% sure the abnormalities he has were caused by Temperature fluctuation, the pair of Geckos has never produced another "odd gecko." You can never completely rule out that it isn't a genetic problem!

These Geckolepis (Fish Scale Geckos) have always been a favorite of mine! I've had this little one for about 5 years now! It is one of the smaller types (I believe Petiti but there's so little info on the different sub species it's a bit difficult to ID confidently!)
They can be very brave for how little they are! This one tolerates me quite a bit and will actively feed in front of me as well!

This species has a defense mechanism where they can SCHLOUGH their skin/scales in order to avoid being eaten or trapped! This effectively makes them look like a chicken cutlet but also makes them VERY vulnerable seeing as they have NO scales to protect them! They do grow back but takes a LONG time! I mention this because I'm touching her in this video! A light poke/pet is totally okay if they will allow it but never ever try to grab them!
