Did you know? The French Bulldog has claimed the title of America’s most popular dog breed for the third year in a row, according to the AKC! 🇺🇸🐶

In 2022, the lovable Frenchie bumped the Labrador Retriever from the top spot after a 31-year reign — and they’ve held onto it ever since. 📈

With their signature bat ears, playful personalities, and adaptable size, it’s no surprise these little charmers are winning hearts across both city streets and countryside trails. 🏙️🌳

Frenchies have been part of AKC history since 1898, and they’re clearly not going anywhere anytime soon! 💖🐾

And speaking of Frenchie love… say hello to our handsome boy Hank, pictured here! 🥰 Last week he did his very first day in daycare, and he stole hearts left and right! 💙 Welcome to the pack, Hank!

Your pup’s paws do a lot of work—let’s show them some love! 💙

Here are a few tips to keep those toe beans healthy and happy:
🧼 Keep them clean – Wipe paws after walks to remove dirt, salt, or chemicals.
✂️ Trim nails regularly – Overgrown nails can cause pain or posture issues.
🌿 Check for debris – Watch for burrs, splinters, or ticks hiding in the fur.
🌡️ Protect from hot/cold – Pavement can burn paws in summer; ice and salt can irritate in winter.
🐾 Moisturize – Use a paw balm to prevent cracking and dryness.

Does your pup wag their tail a little too enthusiastically? Some dogs, especially those with long, slender tails like Greyhounds, Labs, and Great Danes, can develop Happy Tail Syndrome—a painful condition where the tail repeatedly hits hard surfaces, causing cuts, bleeding, and difficulty healing.

💡 Signs to Watch For:
✔️ Sore or hairless spots on the tail
✔️ Broken skin or bleeding at the tip
✔️ Excessive wagging that leads to impact injuries

🩹 Tips for Treatment & Prevention:
✔️ Clean wounds with saline and keep them moist with vet-approved dressings
✔️ Use foam padding, soft wraps, or even pajama pants to protect the tail
✔️ Reduce tail-impact zones by covering sharp edges or rearranging furniture
✔️ Monitor bandages to avoid circulation issues

When you visit us, you’re bound to see some of our regulars—our own furry family members! Here are a few pups you might meet during your time with us:

✨ Ivy the Irish Setter – Ivy belongs to Courtney and is our official greeter! She’ll likely be the first to welcome you at the door, eagerly looking for pets. She loves to play and show off her tricks—so don’t be surprised if she puts on a little performance!

🐾 Gunner the Pit Bull Mix – Also Courtney’s pup, Gunner prefers his own space. You won’t see him in the kennel, but if you spot him outside during a potty break, just know he’s happiest with his kitty siblings inside. He’s not a fan of new people or dogs, so he keeps to himself.

🐕 Hasha the Shadow Pup – If Cassie is here, so is Hasha! She’s never far from her mom and will happily perch on your lap to watch the world go by—especially if there’s a cat to observe through the window!

🦊 Sparky the Corgi – Whenever Morgan is running daycare, you can bet Sparky is here too! He’s a fun-loving, super-friendly guy who adores playing and making new friends.

As we head into the busy summer season, we want to remind everyone that our boarding spots fill up quickly and will be at capacity multiple times throughout the summer. To ensure your pet has a spot, we highly recommend booking early!

🐶 Booking Details:
✔️ A 50% deposit is required to secure your pet’s stay.
✔️ We have a 72-hour cancellation policy – if you cancel within 72 hours of your reservation, the deposit is non-refundable.
✔️ If your plans change, no problem! Just let us know as soon as possible so we can accommodate other pets in need.

✂️ Want your pet groomed during their stay? ✂️
If you'd like your pet to be groomed while boarding, please schedule grooming at the time of booking to ensure we have time available. Spots fill up quickly, and we want to make sure we can pamper your pet while they’re here! 🛁🐾

Did you know? 🤯 Greyhounds can actually beat cheetahs in a race! 🏁🐕🐆

While a cheetah can hit an incredible 70 mph, they can only keep up that speed for about 30 seconds before tiring out. Meanwhile, a Greyhound may "only" reach 35 mph, but they can maintain that speed for seven miles! 🏃‍♂️💨

So, while a cheetah gets the fast start, the Greyhound’s endurance would eventually let them overtake the big cat! 🏆

Meet Quinn, our fun-loving 4-year-old German Shepherd mix! 🐶💛 Quinn absolutely loves daycare when she boards with us—just ask her if she wants to play with her friends, and she’s off! 🏃‍♀️🐕

She’s always up for a good wrestling match or a game of chase, making sure everyone stays active and entertained. And when it’s time to wind down, she enjoys a game of fetch followed by some well-earned cuddle time. 💕🎾

Last week, we covered vaccines, and this week, we want to touch on another important requirement for Boarding and Daycare—flea treatments! 🦟🚫

Keeping your pup protected from fleas isn’t just about preventing itching—it helps stop the spread of fleas to other pets and keeps our space clean and comfortable for all!

✅ Year-round flea prevention is highly recommended to keep your pup protected.
✅ Flea treatments come in topical applications, oral chews, or flea collars—talk to your vet about what’s best for your pet.
✅ Even indoor pets can be at risk, as fleas can hitch a ride on clothing, shoes, or other animals.

📢 Reminder: All pups must be on a flea prevention plan to join us for Boarding or Daycare! 🏡🐾
