We have a new SCATT cat in the rescue!

Please meet Orchid! She is a wonderful, very loving, and outgoing cat. Not only that, but she is beautiful as well!

So why is she a SCATT cat?
First, a little background!

Orchid came to us from another rescue, and we were thrilled to have her!
After her spay and vaccines, she went up for adoption atPetSmart. A day or two later, we got a phone call, saying that she was acting a bit odd, with noticeable twitching, and a bit of a head bob.

We reached out to the other rescue where she came from, to see if they had any thoughts. We found out that she had a litter of kittens, that were all born with CH. (Cerebellar hypoplasia). That’s when the lightbulb went off and we realized that she was also a CH kitty. Her symptoms are extremely mild though, and you wouldn’t even know it unless she is laying still.

CH kitties live happy, and wonderful lives. They don’t have any pain, and the diagnosis does not bother them at all!

We are hoping to find the perfect home for Miss Orchid, with someone willing to understand that she may have small twitches, or odd jerks here and there.
You will be rewarded, though, with an absolutely wonderful, sweet, and loving cat, that purrs constantly.❤️❤️

We have a new SCATT cat in the rescue!
Please meet Mona.

Mona is approximately one year old, and a medium hair Siamese mix. She is very petite and has the cutest little meow.

So why is she a SCATT cat? She came to us from a home with quite a few other cats in it, and unfortunately, she was not very well socialized. She is not mean, but is fearful, and will definitely need a home willing to take the time to allow her to decompress and adjust. No small children, but other cats would probably be fine.

He was getting frustrated being in a cage , so he is now hanging out in our meet/greet room at PetSmart and loving the freedom!

They do!

Today they noticed that our lover-boy, Demi , had some litter stuck in his toes and offered to clean him up! He got a bath and a nail trim, and now is looking even more handsome!

We have a new SCATT (Special Cats Are Terrific Too) cat in the rescue. ❤️❤️

Please meet Jonas! He is 1 1/2 yr old and very sweet.
Unfortunately, his previous owner no longer wanted him and shut him in a room by himself. 😞
As a result, he started over grooming himself and has thin hair on parts of his body. He is also very allergic to fleas, and has some irritations from previous flea bites.
Despite all this, he is a sweet boy, enjoys attention, is very curious and loves to explore. We don’t know if he is good with other cats, but feel like he would be, with time to adjust. He will have to be inside only because of his flea allergies.
We are getting him updated on his vaccinations as well as flea prevention.

If you think you can provide a new place in your home for him, please message us and we will be happy to explain our adoption process.

We have a new addition to the rescue!
Meet Georgie.

Georgie is a big boy, weighing in at about 14lb!!! He is 2yo, and up to date on his vaccinations.

He growls at new changes, but will then immediately push on your hand for attention. He may need a bit of extra time to get to know his new owner.

We are hoping to find him a home directly and not put him through the stress of cages at PetSmart.

Like many other rescues in our area, we have been overwhelmed with the number of requests for help with kittens. Our kittens go into foster homes so that they get plenty of socialization, one-on-one care, and lots of extra attention. This not only makes our kittens more adoptable, but also means that we have a limited number of spaces. It also means that we have to tell so many people “no” we can’t help. 😔

We are happy to recommend some other rescues, but please realize, they may be full too.

PLEASE…. Get your cats fixed!

Feature kitty today is Queenie!

She tends to curl up and hide in her litter box, so people don’t get a chance to really see how wonderful she is. Once you start petting her, she will flip over and start purring and loves attention.

She’s definitely a staff, favorite, but hasn’t quite found her perfect home yet. If you think you could be that home for her, you can meet her at PetSmart ❤️❤️

ALL HAVE BEEN ADOPTED

We have 4 young, female, cats that despite our foster’s best efforts, just do not want to be friends. They are great with other cats, and are happy to be near you, but prefer not to be handled.

We have had them fixed and vaccinated, but now we need to find them homes. They would be ok as outside cats, if properly introduced to their new home.
We have a donor that is sponsoring their adoption fees.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with cleaning the cat cages at Petsmrt. We are specifically looking for people to volunteer on either Saturdays or Sundays.
It only takes about an hour of your morning, and makes a huge difference in the health and welfare of our cats, as well as, making the cages nice for the public.

Ok, so not my best video today, but this boy is just so darn sweet!

This is Debo! Not only is he stunningly, handsome, but as you can see from the video, he’s extremely sweet, loves attention, loves to get up and lay in your lap and give kisses. He’s OK with other cats once he gets to know them, he would be great with kids, and he has been Felv/FIV tested negative.
He is currently at Petsmart in the outside cage. If you would like to meet him and adopt this super sweet boy!

Do we have any orange kitty lovers out there? ❤️❤️
If you have ever owned an orange kitty, you probably know how great they are!

When our local Shelter reached out to us about two older orange boys, we knew we had to get them into the rescue!
Please meet Slim Jim and Cheeto!

We estimate them to be approximately eight years old, and they are also both front declawed. They are big, sweet, gentle boys! ❤️❤️ They will need to be adopted as a pair as they have been together their whole life.
They are currently at our facility until we can get them updated on their vaccinations, but we wanted to go ahead and post them here in case anyone needs some orange kitty love in their life. 😻😻

Peeko has made huge strides at our facility! He is warming up to all the staff, and is engaging, wanting pets, and even showing his belly!
He is still looking for his new home, but we wanted to show what just a week’s worth of love and attention can do with some of these cats who are very shy. So if you’re interested in adopting Peeko, please reach out to us and we will arrange for a meet and greet.

Please do not ‘kitten nap’ kittens. Just because you find kittens doesn’t always mean they have been abandoned. Often, momma cat is nearby and keeping an eye on them. ❤️🐈‍⬛

This handsome boy is a stunning snowshoe with amazing blue eyes.
Peeko is 1yo, neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is also Felv/Fiv negative.
Peeko is a very shy but gentle boy, and will definitely need a quiet home with a patient owner to allow him time to get to know them. ❤️
No dogs or young children please. Other cats may be ok, but will need time for them to get to know each other.
