There are so many beautiful tiger kittens at the House right now! Today, let’s talk about tall, dark, and handsome Simon 😻

Simon is one of the two remaining Chipmunk kittens. He stands out of the crowd with his dark, silver coloring. He also sets himself apart by being one of the first kitties to greet those that visit the Kitten Cabana!

Simon is everything you could want from a new kitten: sweet, snuggly, and playful.

Today is National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🌈

Today, we pause to honor the cherished pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, including the precious cats who have passed away in our care. These beloved cats for whom the Wishbone House became their forever home will always hold a place in our hearts.

We invite you to join us in remembering your own furry family members who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Please share your photos and stories in the comments below. Let’s create a space where we can celebrate their lives, share our memories, and support one another through the grief of losing a beloved pet.

John Ball Zoo has some cute baby lynxes and we have our very own little lynx look-alike! 😻

Adoptable Alvin may look like a little wildcat, but he is fiercely cuddly. He loves to curl up in your lap and purr! This handsome fella is ready to pounce into your heart and home 💜

From her splendid mustache to her adorable surprised expression, there’s so much to love about our new friend Didi! 💜

Didi, her siblings, and their momma Angelica moved from the Allegan Shelter into our care 8/13/24. They were originally brought to the shelter as a family of strays and have all turned out to be such friendly, lovely kitties!

This little lady is a hoot with her owl-like expression and the way she plays… she loves interactive toys, like wand toys, but if you stop playing with her she’ll triumphantly carry the toy off! 😹 Our new group of kittens are quite friendly and outgoing. Visitors commonly get swarmed by sweet kittens looking for cuddles when they visit the Kitten Cottage and Didi is always part of the welcoming committee.

Andy is so handsome… and such a ham! 💜

Andy stands out for his large stature and striking features—especially those stunning green eyes! 😍 His personality is even more adorable than his appearance, if you can believe it!

We adore this big, playful fella. He often acts more like a dog than a cat (though ironically did not like the dogs at the shelter 😹). He’s obsessed with the water and loves to play with the water in his bowl and hang out in the sink. We recommend his future owner keep that toilet lid down 😉 Another signature Andy quirk is he eats his food laying down. What a lovable weirdo!

Introducing another one of our new faces, little Fitz! 💜

Fitz was born in foster care 3/25/24 at the Allegan Area ESA Tech Center where she was set up for success with socialization thanks to the students! 🥰 Last week, he and his siblings moved from the Allegan Shelter into our care.

This confident guy made himself right at home. He stands out with slightly haunted expression and human-like face! He’s a friendly kitten who is one of the first to greet you when you visit his room (and will beg for your attention at the door if you’re just passing by!)

It’s New Face Friday! 😻

Meet Star & Stripes! This pair moved from the shelter to the House with their 9 kitten roommates last week, but weren’t quite ready for their closeup while they were still getting settled.

Stripes is such a handsome young man with striking, dark coloring! He is so sweet, cuddly, and playful now that he feels at home at the House.

His sister, Star, is a bit more shy and will likely need a patient person or family to adopt her. She is most likely to be found in a hidey hole where she accepts affection, but doesn’t seek it quite yet. Anyone who has ever loved a wallflower cat knows how special that bond is once you gain their trust’ 🥰

Darling Dragon is seeking a new tower to protect 🐉

This sweet girl was adopted through Wishbone in 2019, but returned earlier this year because her family no longer had time for her 💔 She’s ~6 years old.

Dragon has soft, silky fur and a fun, playful personality! Her most unique feature is certainly her bobtail. She loves exploring the store and saying hi to our visitors.

This sweet girl was always an “only fur child” in her previous home, but could join a home that includes other pets. As long as she has someone to give her love & affection, some toys, and a high place to perch she will be happy 💜

It’s New Face Friday! 😻

Our hearts are so full as we've welcomed 13 new feline friends at the House this week!! 💜

3 adults:
-Natalya, returned because she was heartbroken to lose both of her doggie friends and was acting out due to loneliness 💔
-Angelica (aka Jellycat), Mama to the "Rugrats" litter, some of whom were included in the kittens that moved in this week!
-Olive, surrendered to the shelter because she wasn't getting along with her feline sibling. She is front paw declawed.

+ 10 kittens (not all pictured). That's right, we now have TWO kitten rooms full of adorable, adoptable babies!

We are so proud of how much this program has grown 💜 With the help of our partner clinics, we’ve helped spay neuter almost 450 cats and dogs so far this year! Almost 90 were done this month alone! This will help prevent thousands of unwanted litters, reduce overpopulation in our area, and help lighten the load for our friends at the shelter.

Our program is here to spay/neuter the pets of folks who cannot afford the surgery and for any unowned, community cats in Allegan County.

Introducing another gorgeous, green-eyed girl, Lois! 😍

Lois is one of the "Smallville" kittens (one of three litters of kittens in our kitten room). She upgraded from a kennel at the shelter to a room at the Wishbone house 6/10/24, but she's ready to move on to even bigger and better things: a home and a family! She’s ~5 months old, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.

Lois is a sweet, cuddly kitten. She loves being in the middle of the cuddle puddle with her siblings and friends with whom she shares a room at the Wishbone House.

We would love to see Lois go home with another kitten… perhaps one of her siblings, Clark or Lana? Since kittens are better in pairs, we’ll waive the adoption fee for a second kitten when you adopt one of our babies!

The cat tree is in full bloom at the Wishbone House! 😻

We’re hoping all of its kittens get “picked” but today we’re highlighting the handsome Clark!

Clark is one of the "Smallville" kittens (one of three litters of kittens in our kitten room). He upgraded from a kennel at the shelter to a room at the Wishbone house 6/10/24, but he's ready to move on to even bigger and better things: a home and a family! He’s ~5 months old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.

We love Clark for his very handsome little lion face and sweet personality. This boy likes being held and LOVES getting scratches on the neck! He’s growing up so quickly and we imagine he’ll grow up to be a BIG boy 💜

We would love to see Clark go home with another kitten… perhaps one of his sisters, Lois or Lana? Since kittens are better in pairs, we’ll waive the adoption fee for a second kitten when you adopt one of our babies!

Flora has a bit of a reputation at the Wishbone House as a THIEF!

That’s right, no one’s seat is safe when this adorable little lady is loose. She is known for curling up in a chair as soon as our volunteers or staff stand up and blatantly ignores the rules of “seat check.” 😹 She actually prefers if there’s a lap for her to curl up in, but a warm chair is the second best thing.

In addition to petty theft, Flora loves:
☀️ sun-bathing
👀 watching over the store from a high perch
🌀 spring toys!

She has the most stunning green eyes and adorable chirpy meow. We just know this snuggly, playful girl will light up her future family’s life 💜

She is the 🎶napping queen🎶

Adorable Miss Precious loves curling up for catnaps and spends most of her day snoozing. A soft bed, the top of a cat tree, a fuzzy blanket… you name it, she’s probably napped on it! Maybe we should have called her Sleeping Beauty 😹

Precious has been awaiting adoption at the House since 2/1/24 and is estimated to be ~2 and a half years old. She’s a petite little lady who really looks like she could still be a kitten!

Some HUGE adoption wins at the House this week 🥰 6 of our feline friends were adopted... all with other friends!

You may remember the group of 12 cats that were surrendered to the shelter when their owner heartbreakingly had to move into hospice care. We were hoping the final 3 (Michael, Tanya & Sir) could find a home together because they love each other so much and are constantly in a "cuddle puddle," but knew that was likely wishful thinking. Our hopes and dreams were exceeded when they were all adopted together with their roommate, Karma!

Eleanor had been scheduled to be adopted for a couple weeks, but when her family came to bring her home they left with Chloe too to give her a sister and playmate! We LOVE seeing kittens get adopted in pairs!

Double Trouble! 😸😸 Today we planned to introduce Tanya, but that was before we discovered her little love affair with Michael 💜 These two both were part of the group of 12 that were surrendered when their owner sadly had to move into hospice care. Tanya is ~2 and Michael is about to celebrate his 3rd birthday! These two can frequently be caught canoodling! Michael is a confident cat, Tanya is a more sensitive girl.
