It’s Caturday Saturday and we have a new furry friend to introduce: Hearts!

Hearts was brought to the shelter as part of group of 7 cats after their owners were evicted. A couple weeks ago she moved into the House with presumed siblings, Diamond and Spades! She has been loving the extra space to play 🥰

Hearts puts rumors of tortoiseshell cats having an attitude to rest 😉 She is an outgoing and friendly girl who loves making human friends. She has quite a playful streak and shows a preference for all catnip toys and one specific green pompom ball! She can frequently be found prancing around with it in her mouth!

Hearts is spayed, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative, and up to date on vaccinations and prevention. The medical team estimates she’s ~2 years old.

Flora has decided Fridays are now Flora Fridays! 💜

This sweet girl knows how to strike a pose and always finds the best seat in the House (showing a strong preference for the ones recently vacated by the humans who work and volunteer there 😹)

We love Flora for her friendly, snuggly personality and playful streak.

It’s hard to believe with her beauty, disposition, and adorable quirks she hasn’t won an adopter’s heart yet! 🥺

Today, we’re celebrating the heart and soul of Wishbone House: our incredible volunteers! From caring for our feline friends to managing the resale store, your dedication makes it all possible.

To our cat caregivers: thank you for your patience with our shy cats, your extra cuddles for the snuggly ones, and your efforts to ensure each cat feels loved while they wait to be adopted.

To our resale store volunteers: thank you for greeting customers with a smile, keeping the shop running smoothly, and helping fund our mission through your hard work.

Every moment you give helps save lives and support our programs. Wishbone House wouldn’t be the same without you. Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and heart!!

Isn’t our new friend Ronnie a handsome guy? 😍

He may have the most heartbreaking little meow in the entire House!

Ronnie was surrendered to the Allegan Shelter when his person had to move into assisted living and he couldn’t come with 💔 We’re so happy he’s with us now while he awaits adoption. He’s only ~2 and a half years old, neutered, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative, and up to date on vaccinations and prevention.

Ronnie is slightly shy, but very sweet and quickly coming out of his shell! He will meow at passersby hoping for some affection. He will certainly be someone’s best friend when he goes home.

It’s Caturday Saturday and this week we’re featuring Frogger 🥰

Little Frogger was found in the middle of the highway during a rainstorm. He was tiny, wet, and covered with fleas!

One of our staff members took the little guy home since the Wishbone House isn’t licensed to take in strays. In foster, he received flea/tick treatment and prevention and received the vaccines he would need to move into the House!

While he waited, he gained two little foster sisters 💜 He didn’t like sharing his toys or his foster parent’s attention at first, but quickly bonded with the girls. Now, both of his “sisters” have been adopted making him the last of his “litter” to be adopted.

Frogger can be a little shy with new people, but is very sweet and playful with his trusted humans. He will come running out of his hiding spot when his former foster calls, “Froggie!” 🥰

Frogger is now ~4 months old, neutered, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative, up to date on vaccinations and prevention, and ready to go home!

It's New Face Friday 😻

We are over the moon that 18 new friends moved out of the shelter and into the House during the past week!! We are overjoyed these sweet kitties are in a quieter, more comfortable place to await adoption and are loving getting to know each and every one of them 💜

TWO YEARS AWAITING ADOPTION 💔

Two years ago, Quartz came to us after living in a group of outdoor, community cats. A kind person helped get them inside before a terrible blizzard. Now this sweet girl is the longest resident at the Wishbone House—by far! 😢

We don’t understand why in two years she hasn’t stolen an adopter’s heart (she certainly has among our volunteers and staff!) Sure, there's a good chance if you come to visit, she'll be happily hiding... She LOVES curling up for a nap in a fuzzy bed under a soft blanket! We've worked hard to socialize this sweetie and she's made amazing progress, but is still a little shy with new people. Once she trusts you, she enjoys affection and is a playful little goofball!

Quartz needs a patient person to flourish in her future home. Her friendship is worth the wait (and can be bought with Churu treats! 😸)
