Laramie Peak Humane Society

Laramie Peak Humane Society LPHS is committed to the health and welfare of the homeless pets in our community! We are also so much more than a traditional shelter!

The Laramie Peak Humane Society is committed to the health and welfare of all animals, and the active pursuit of a loving forever home for every set of paws that enters our care. Hundreds of displaced animals come through our doors each year and it takes a lot of time, rehabilitation and veterinary care to place them into new homes. With such great support from the community of Converse County and

surrounding areas, our dedicated staff and our terrific volunteer base, we are able to provide a safe temporary home for displaced animals in our community. We offer many programs and services to educate, inform and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and to treat them with the kindness they deserve. With the support from people from all over Wyoming and beyond, we are helping to create a better community for all.

✨ Happy Tails ✨

After 267 days at LPHS, our sweet Hendrix has finally found his forever home! 💙

This wonderful family adopted Gabby from us earlier this year, and while they were busy helping her settle into her new routine, they just couldn’t get Hendrix out of their minds. Once Gabby was trained and comfortable, they came back for the boy who had captured their hearts from the very beginning. 🐾

Hendrix’s journey wasn’t always easy, but today he is right where he belongs — surrounded by love, with a family who never forgot him. 💕

Stories like this are what keep us going. Thank you to Hendrix’s new family for opening your hearts and home to not just one, but two LPHS pups. We are so, so happy for Hendrix, and we know Gabby is too. 🥰

Here’s to second chances, happy endings, and love that lasts a lifetime. 🏡🐶💫

🚨 TNR Project at Orin Junction Truck Stop – Sept. 17th 🚨
LPHS will be conducting a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) project at Orin Junction Truck Stop on Wednesday, Sept. 17th to help manage the community cat population.
📢 For Orin residents:
Please keep your pets indoors Sept. 14th to avoid accidental trapping.
Please do not feed community cats from now until the morning of Sept. 18th so they will safely enter the traps.
Thank you for helping us care for the cats and keep our community healthy! 💙🐾
If you would like a TNR done in your neighborhood, please email us at [email protected]!

🐾 We’re Looking for Volunteers! 🐾

Do you have a couple of hours to spare in the mornings? We’d love your help!
We’re looking for 1 volunteer each day between 9 AM – 11 AM (we can be flexible) to lend a hand with:
✨ Housekeeping (dishes, laundry, sweeping & mopping)
✨ Helping us process donations
✨ Walking a dog or two to brighten their day!

We’re also gearing up for our next TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) event on September 17th 🐱. We need extra hands to help set and check traps so we can give community cats a healthier, safer life.

Volunteering is a great way to support the animals, meet new friends, and make a difference. 💙

📩 Message us here or call us at 307-358-6475 to sign up or learn more!

🚨 We Need Your Help 🚨
Our shelter is currently at 110% capacity for dogs — that means we have more dogs than kennels, and it feels like they just keep coming in!

Can you open your home to foster a dog?
Fostering saves lives. It gives dogs a much-needed break from the shelter, helps them learn home skills, and opens up space for incoming animals in need. Even short-term fosters make a big difference!

🐶 We provide everything you need:
✔️ Food
✔️ Supplies
✔️ Vet care
✔️ Support every step of the way

You provide the love and a temporary home.

💛 A note to our current fosters: If we haven’t reached out to you directly, please know it’s not because we forgot you—we are just stretched very thin with so many dogs in our care. We are so grateful for you, and can't wait to hear from you to foster!

👉 Ready to help? Apply to foster here: https://www.laramiepeakhumanesociety.org/volunteer-foster

P.S. 🐈 If you want to foster a cat, we can do that too!

🌸 Meet Tandoori 🌸

This sweet young calico is just over a year old and looking for her forever home! 💕 Tandoori can be a little shy at first—loud noises and sudden movements still make her nervous—but once she realizes you’re there to give her love, she melts right into all the pets and attention you’ll give her.

She’s slowly learning that other cats can be friends, especially calm ones who give her space. She hasn’t been around dogs yet, but we’re happy to see how she does as her confidence grows.

All Tandoori really wants is love and a safe place to land. 🏡💖 Could that be with you?

📍 Come meet her at Laramie Peak Humane Society!
