LPHS is committed to the health and welfare of the homeless pets in our community! We are also so much more than a traditional shelter!

The Laramie Peak Humane Society is committed to the health and welfare of all animals, and the active pursuit of a loving forever home for every set of paws that enters our care. Hundreds of displaced animals come through our doors each year and it takes a lot of time, rehabilitation and veterinary care to place them into new homes. With such great support from the community of Converse County and

surrounding areas, our dedicated staff and our terrific volunteer base, we are able to provide a safe temporary home for displaced animals in our community. We offer many programs and services to educate, inform and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and to treat them with the kindness they deserve. With the support from people from all over Wyoming and beyond, we are helping to create a better community for all.

🎉 Our Volunteers Are Amazing! 🐾

Recently, we put out a call for help at the shelter — and wow, did our community show up! 🙌 So many wonderful people came forward to spend time with our dogs and cats, and it’s been incredible watching those new friendships grow. ❤️

Now, we’re hoping to find a few more volunteers to help off-site at our community and adoption events!

From Adoption Days at Tractor Supply and PetSmart in Casper to fun local gatherings like Hot Night in the Park and Jackalope Days, our events are full of wagging tails, smiling faces, and opportunities to make a difference.

🐶 What you’ll do:
✨ Help handle adoptable animals (and sneak in a few cuddles!)
✨ Chat with patrons about LPHS and our adoptable pets
✨ Share info about how others can get involved

We’ll provide all the info and support you need—you just bring your enthusiasm and love for animals!

🚨 TNVR Project behind Bomgaars (Madora Ave in Douglas, WY) 🚨

LPHS will be conducting a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) project behind Bomgaars on Thursday, October 16th to help manage the community cat population.

📢 For Madora Ave residents:

Please keep your pets indoors October 16th to avoid accidental trapping.

Please do not feed community cats on October 15th or 16th so they will safely enter the traps.

Thank you for helping us care for the cats and keep our community healthy! 💙🐾

🐾 National Adoption Week is Coming! 🐾
October 20th - 26th at PetSmart (Casper, WY)

We’re teaming up with PetSmart Charities to find loving homes for our furry friends — and every adoption helps us raise even more support for animals in need! 💙

Here’s what to expect:
🐱 Cats available all week in-store at PetSmart
🐶 Dogs joining the fun October 25th - 26th from 10AM–2PM, when LPHS will be on-site to help you meet your new best friend!
📋 Want to meet a specific pup? Get pre-approved, and we can bring them to PetSmart just for you that weekend — with a shorter wait time!

🐱 Calling All Kitten Lovers! 🍼💕

It’s been a busy kitten season here at Laramie Peak Humane Society — we’ve already welcomed over 90 kittens this year! 😻 While we have some amazing foster families, they’ve been working around the clock, and we could really use a few more helping hands (and hearts).

Fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to help. Our kittens range from tiny bottle babies who need feeding every few hours, to playful older kittens who just need a little extra socializing before they find their forever homes.

💖 We provide everything you need:

✨ All supplies (food, litter, bottles, etc.)
✨ Veterinary care

We’re thrilled to reveal the official artwork for our 2025 Paws & Pearls Gala! 🐾💎

This year’s design perfectly captures the spirit of the evening — a night where compassion meets celebration, all to support the homeless pets of Converse County!

We wanted to feature 25 critters on the poster to honor our 25th anniversary of this wonderful event... but that was a big ask to our talented artist 🧑‍🎨 So we featured 5️⃣ amazing pets who have found their forever homes this year 🎉

🐶 Odie - Lived in shelter life for over 2 years... then he found a loving home with another dog friend and kids to play with!
🐱Chloe - Came to us as a mom of 5 kittens. She was a wonderful mom and quickly found a loving home after her babies did!
🐶Loki - Was adopted from LPHS as a puppy, and then returned to the shelter two different times (due to no fault of his own). But now he has a loving home that treasures every moment with him!
🐱Xenomorph - Found as a very scared kitten, but grew into a fun and sweet cat who found a great shop home to enjoy!
🐶Hendrix - Was at LPHS for 267 days. A family that adopted from us in earlier this year came back and brought him home as well!
