Since we decided to let Roxy stick around I figured I should get a page made for her on our website.

Between her sweet little personality and her adorable little face it was easy to keep her, that and she’s not bad to look at😉

I also would like to say that I was NOT the one that was adamant about keeping her! “Management” (my parents 😂) were the ones that kept hinting about how nice it would be if she stuck around! Looks like I’m not the only one with a goat addiction around here👀

Feel free to check out this flashy little lady’s page!

Our 2025 kidding schedule is now on our website!!!

Although I still have to select a buck for Penny, everyone else is pretty set in stone, I believe.

As always please feel free to contact me if you want to place a ✨free✨ reservation for a kid out of any of these crosses😊

Took some updated (and fairly hairy😅) pictures of our 2024 doe kids! Although they each went through some extremely awkward phases, they are really growing into themselves now and they look great! Very happy with these little ladies 💕

Another doe being offered up in an effort to cut numbers back is Gabhran Creek Juno.

Juno is a very nice doe, though I admit she usually doesn’t catch one’s eye immediately, when you really look at her you realize just how put together she is. She freshened with the most beautiful first freshening udder in March and has such soft, pliable skin. She also has lots of depth and is very dairy. She is also a 2x Jr RGCH winner. She also placed nicely as a senior doe, often times near the top of the class.

This doe is almost a copy of her gorgeous dam and would be a very strong addition to any herd.

I am gradually getting our 2024 breeding plans finalized, but before those are announced I want to showcase this season’s ND herdsires.

Oldest to youngest we have:

- Gabhran Creek EZ Money
- Dill’s DL Dirty Deeds *B
- Gabhran Creek Excalibur
- Star Valley’s Dirty Bird

All of these boys are looking great and already have kids on the ground, so we already got a taste of what these boys are bringing to the table and I can confidently say that we will have an amazing kid crop in the spring that I cannot wait to see!

More info about each of these boys can be found on our website, if you are dying to know more about them!

Check out the brisket extension on this guy! Can’t wait to see more kids out of him in the spring!

Although I didn’t bring any of my own goats to the North Dakota State Fair this year, Star Valley was still represented by some goats from our breeding program!

These three 4H kiddos did amazing with their goats and if I’m not mistaken this was their first state fair, so they did great!

The little buck (a 2023 kid out of Gabhran Creek Rhythm of Love and Dill’s DL Dirty Deeds *B) even went on to win Reserve Overall Buck in barn, beating some amazing ADGA bucks!!! So so proud!

The little doe kids (2023 kids from Star Valley’s Mary Jane and Gabhran Creek Teepee Creeper) did well also and the one went to win Grand Overall Commercial Jr Doe!!!

Also a special mention to the Burns Family for their hard work with Star Valley’s Billie Jean, she and her daughters look great and Cassie Mix-Burns may have mentioned how much Billie’s 2 leg loves her little goat companion💕

This is really what drives our program, seeing the joy of these young showman doing well in the ring and loving their little goat companions. I could not be more happy with the homes these young showmen provide for the goats we send their way.

So Proud!

We currently have three registered does looking for new herds, in an effort to downsize we need to make some hard cuts.

Star Valley’s 867-5309 (Jenny)
She is a 2yr FF and is currently dry. She is also polled and is definitely our most well behaved doe, she is very sweet and would be a great showmanship or youth show doe.

Dill’s SH Happy New Year (Happy)
She is a 5yr 5th freshener and is also currently dry. She already has a GCH leg and a BIS win. Would be a good show doe, and likes to reproduce herself in her kids. Very consistent doe.

Star Valley’s Roxy
She is an early May kid that just hasn’t been spoken for yet. Was taken to a show earlier this month and the judges had many compliments for her. If she is still her in a month she will also be going to a second show.

More info on these ladies can be found on our website, which is linked here on our farm page!

The Red River Valley Fair’s ADGA show was Sunday and was a great show! Patrick Bachmeier and all of the people that pitched in to help run this show did an amazing job! Can’t wait to come back next summer!

The buck show definitely made my day! The judges had lots of nice things to say about Deeds and he was such a good boy in the ring! Like a big old puppy dog lol

I would also like to give a shout out to my family (especially my “assistant showman” Becky) for helping me at the show, every extra hand helps and most of the pictures below wouldn’t have been captured without their attendance. Very thankful for my “Star Valley Show Crew”!

Now enjoy some pictures from our day at the show!

Golden Plains Have a Cow “Cowboy” went off to a new home today.

We had not been planning to part with him until this winter, but an opportunity arose and we took it. (Less mouths to feed and all that)

We will miss this sweet boy, but he went to a good home with kids to love on him and he has given us lots of beautiful kids.

Star Valley’s Roxy

This little doe kid will be our last one of the year looking for a home. (We do still have buck kids and adults looking for homes but she’s our last 2024 doe kid lol)

If you are looking for a doe with a nice straight set of legs, great rear width, and beautiful pliable dairy skin, Roxy is your girl! She is out of some lines here that I have really been loving.

Her dam is Dill’s DD Foxy, who has some of the best skin in my herd and milks down to nothing. Foxy is a daughter of Dill’s ROR Dilly Dilly, who is a buck that has produced some gorgeous daughters over the years.

Her sire is Gabhran Creek Excalibur. He is only a yearling buck, but I have been liking what this guy has been producing. His dam is our gorgeous herd matriarch Cedar MTN Exception. I cannot sing Exceptions praises enough, she is one of the most lovely does I’ve ever owned both in structure and personality. My favorite thing about Exception, besides her sweet personality, is her udder. She has the most capacious udder in our herd and has beautiful skin and probably the most smoothly blended fore udder I’ve ever seen in a Nigerian Dwarf. It’s a bit hard to tell in the pictures, but she also has an amazing rear udder.

All and all definitely take a look at this little doe, I won’t be sad if she doesn’t leave, however feed bills must be paid somehow.

Well, well, well…
Would you look at how little miss Feyre has blossomed!

Today at the Hub City Dairy Goat Show she took grand in one ring! That makes 2/3 legs earned towards her GCH!

This little doe has been impressing me since the day she was born. She is a prime example of just how much a good buck can improve in one generation!

We also brought 5 other does to this show and all of them placed in the top three for at least one ring. We had a good day overall.

And just like that my 18 month long ”no new goats streak” has been broken.

Today I picked up Gabhran Creek Knockin Boots (aka Boots) and I am so very excited to see this little lady grow up. She is a very confident little doe and would make a wonderful showmanship doe so I am so excited to get her in a ring this summer.

Thank you again to Gabhran Creek Dairy Goats for allowing us to add another one of your goats to our herd.

I have a bit of a brag post this morning

Check out Star Valley’s Feyre Cursbreakr!!!

She is a doe that got her Jr dry leg as a junior kid and has since been a bit of a “back burner goat” as she didn’t freshen as a yearling.

Now, however, she has really gotten my attention as a 2yr FF. I mean how could you ignore a FF udder as nice as hers, AND the cherry on top is the gorgeous kids she produced this year. Unfortunately for me both are bucks so they can’t stay, but that is for sure a cross I will be repeating!

I am very excited to get this girl back in the ring this summer!

How lucky is that?!?! And both are adorable little silvers!

As fun as kidding can be I’m glad it’s finally come to an end.

This weekend we had lots of animals move to new farms!

Saturday we got rid of 6 chickens, which frees up a ton of space in our tiny coop!

Today we sent two goats to their new herds.

Metis Prairie Farm Mavis went to a 4H family and Star Valley’s Exterminator went to Prairie Star Acres as a herdsire.

It’s a good feeling to gradually decrease numbers, especially when we are in our busy season.

Three buck kids looking for herds!

Black and white is an F6 mini Nubian Buck who can go intact or as a wether.
He also has moonspots

Black and tan is a Nigerian Dwarf Buck who can go ADGA registered, unregistered and intact, or as a wether

Black with blue eyes and moonspots is another F6 Mini Nubian
He will be offered as MDGA registered and is an excellent herd sire prospect!

Please see my website for more details on these boys and if you have any questions not answered on there, feel free to PM me and ask!

Jenny had a single doe kid last night, I’m not sure if she’s polled yet but we’re leaning towards yes.

I’ll be honest I’m getting real tired of singletons (this is out 5th one this year) but at least my Nigerians have done me the courtesy of making sure the singles are girls, so I can’t complain too much.

Anyway this little “Jenny mini-me” will be retained as this is a cross I have been very excited about all year. I’ll have to start thinking of names.

She is sired by Star Valley’s Dirty Bird

Well well well… look what Feyre did all by herself

While mom was on the way home from work I just so happened to check the camera (all the way from college) to check Feyre. I got on just in time to see her push out her first kid and immediately called mom and said “Do you know that Feyre is pushing?!?!” And she said “NO!” And proceeded to race home.

By the time I got back on the camera she had already delivered her second kid and within a couple minutes mom got home to check them. Aside from the spontaneous panic amongst us humans, Feyre’s delivery went well.

Two little boys, which break EZ’s streak of having at least one doe in every litter! But as far as I can see from the camera they are adorable! Cannot wait to go back home and see those babies and Feyre’s first freshening udder!

These two young ladies went off to their new home today!

They went to live with two young 4H girls who will no doubt be spoiling these little goaties forever. One little girl was so excited she was “fizzling”, so I know these little goats will be loved.

Always great to see goats go to homes like these, really makes me remember why I started doing this to begin with and takes me back to when I got my first goats and was “fizzling” with excitement.

Want to learn something fun?
Six years ago today I brought home my first registered goats!

Wild Arrow Blowin Raspberries and Wild Arrow Our Golden Girl or as we knew them Brandi and Girly.

Although they are no longer part of our herd they had a huge impact on this herd and where it is today. They were also the goats that taught me to do many things like milk, show, and even tattoo and clip for shows. Girly’s 2022 daughter is still in our herd today and is due with her first kids in about a week.

These girls went to a 4H family two years ago and are teaching some new kids the ins and outs of dairy goats.

Crazy how fast time flies!
