Love this! Often it is just sitting quietly and even sensing how are animals are feeling, what they have to tell us...
Animal Communicator, Val Heart, shared this beautiful story of a rescued dog in a recent email:
There once was a young boxer dog named Dasher.
She was difficult to handle, aggressive, and often ran away from home.
Very disobedient, she tore up her toys, her bedding, pillows and even destroyed her family's sofa.
Her family beat her, tied her up outside, yelled at her in frustration but it made no difference in her behavior.
And one day, her human family just couldn’t take it anymore. They dumped her off at the shelter in a fit of anger and despair.
“That’s it! We’ve had it with you!” They said as they handed her leash to the shelter caretaker.
They drove away, never looking back.
They missed seeing the tears of heartbreak in Dasher’s eyes... her tail between her legs, ears drooping, her head hanging low as she was led away.
Stuck in a kennel, laying on the cold concrete floor, Dasher wondered what was to become of her.
She waited, hoping her family was coming back for her.
Other people walked by and looked in, but she turned away and ignored them...
And they soon left to go look at other more friendly dogs.
The shelter workers despaired of ever finding her a good home.
In spite of their best efforts to find her a new family, no one stepped up to adopt her...
She was scheduled to be put down soon.
One rainy, bleak, cold day, Dasher was feeling extra sad, depressed and lonely, and so she stayed as usual in the back corner of her kennel, uninterested in the world around her.
And then...
A miracle happened.
Someone she’d never seen before came up and invited her to talk.
“Hello beautiful, I feel your pain. I sense your wisdom. My name is Anna. Would you please tell me your story?”
Dasher, startled, looked up and into the eyes of compassion and true understanding.
What? A human who can HEAR me? Astonishing!
And Dasher eagerly came forward, wanting to be touched by someone who cared.
Someone who could SEE her, FEEL her and KNOW her for who she truly was.
She poured her heart out, telling the story about how no one ever listened to her and how sad and lost it made her feel.
In her previous family, she was aware of things they did not know about, dangerous and worrisome things...
She had tried her hardest to communicate the messages...
But her voice went unheard, her needs unmet, her pain unnoticed, her stress and fears weighing heavy on her.
She had resorted to acting out her fear, worry and frustration hoping to get their attention finally.
But when they still couldn't take the time to listen to her, and they dumped her, she'd given up even trying to communicate with humans.
Her heart was breaking...
And now, here she was, a throw away in a kennel with no value, no purpose, on the verge of losing her life.
The truth is, Dasher was an angel and healer in disguise, but no one knew it because nobody had ever taken time to communicate with her before!
Anna carefully listened, and told her that she understood.
She was so sorry it had been so awful for her and thanked her for doing her best even when she wasn't listened to or understood.
In return, Anna told her what kind of life she lived, that she was a Reiki healer and therapist for people, and that she was looking for a wonderful dog like Dasher to help her.
Excited, Dasher asked many questions.
And to her delight, every one of her concerns, worries and fears were answered.
Anna asked her about her willingness to follow the house rules of what to do and what not to do.
Dasher agreed with her whole heart because finally she felt respected, recognized and revered for who she truly was.
Anna, reassured, invited Dasher to come live with her.
They were so excited and delighted!
Finally, Dasher had found her true forever person, the one she’d been waiting for, hoping for, praying for.
Together they went on to help hundreds of Anna’s patients.
Dasher became an incredible therapy dog and everyone who knew her felt blessed, loved and inspired.
Often Anna’s patients would call just to visit with Dasher.
She would make them laugh, comfort them when they felt sad, and they always left feeling refreshed and happy.
