Valentine's Day is a great opportunity to show the one you love just how much you love them.

When out shopping for gifts or making plans, please take the time to think about your pet and what might affect them.

A candle lit dinner can turn into a fire or a trip to the vet if you have a cat particularly intrigued by an open flame. Chocolates smell and taste great even to your dog, please keep them out of reach. Remember, no lilies! There are plenty of other safe flowers to include in your bouquet such as sunflowers, zinnias or roses (watch the thorns).

Super Bowl Sunday is fun for many reasons. Let’s keep it fun for both humans and pets by keeping some of these simple tips in mind while enjoying the game today. 🏈

If your Super Bowl Sunday is done right, you probably have a wide variety of appetizers and drinks planned for the game. While this is a great time to share new recipes or dig into old ones, this is not the time to share with your pet. Especially if any of those recipes include ingredients such as onions or garlic which are toxic to your pet. Things like chicken wings/legs may cause obstructions and while some other ingredients or snacks may not be considered toxic to pets, they will most likely still cause GI upset.
Remember to also keep your trash secure and out of your pet’s reach.

If you are lucky enough to be AT the Super Bowl, double check your house before leaving your pet and make sure they are left in a safe environment.

If you had an appointment prior to 11am or a surgical procedure scheduled for your pet tomorrow, please check your voicemail! Any appointments prior to 11am can be rescheduled to the next most convenient time slot.

If your pet has been scheduled for a surgical procedure tomorrow, please drop them off by 11am. Follow all pre-surgery guidelines as directed.

Not sure if your pet needs a dental? Does your pet have stinky breath, trouble chewing or facial discomfort? Set up a dental assessment this month and receive 20% off the assessment exam!

*If you already have a scheduled dental procedure for your pet for this month, your 25% off scaling and polishing discount will automatically be applied to your invoice. If you call to schedule during the month of February, for the following month, your discount will be rolled over and applied to your invoice at the time of service.

As Christmas and the holiday gifting season is coming to an end, please remember pets are a lifetime commitment.

Receiving a pet as a gift during the holidays, or a birthday, is always an exciting surprise. Once the initial excitement wears off, the daily chores and needs of your pet as well as the possibility of unexpected bills that come with pet ownership are still there. Your pet is now a part of your family, requiring love and care, for possibly the next 10-12 years. They aren't just an unwanted gift to return in the new year. With proper preparation, bringing a pet into your home for the holidays can still be a success.

Remember that they might not be with you throughout your entire life, but they are with you throughout their entire life.
