As we gather to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, let's not forget our furry companions! Here are some tips to keep your pets safe and calm during the festivities:
🎇 Create a Safe Space: Make sure your pets have a quiet, comfortable place to retreat away from the noise.
🐶 Keep Them Indoors: Fireworks can be frightening for pets. Keep them indoors and secure windows and doors.
🐱 Update ID Tags: Ensure your pets' ID tags and microchip information are up to date, just in case they get scared and run off.
🐾 Avoid Fireworks: Never use fireworks around pets. They can cause severe burns and trauma.
🎆 Watch the BBQ: Be mindful of what your pets eat. Certain foods can be harmful to them.

Patient of the Week: Meet Waffles, the kitten who’s gone from outdoor stray to a cozy home. Waffles just finished her first set of vaccines, paving the way for a healthy life ahead. Kitten vaccinations and vet visits are important to prevent serious diseases, detect health issues early, control parasites, ensure proper growth, help with socialization, and meet legal requirements. They keep your kitten healthy and happy. We can’t wait to have her back in 3-4 weeks for her 2nd round of vaccines! Here’s to many happy days with their new family!

Meet Max! 🐶
Our bubbly chocolate lab who came to us with a pulled toe nail! In order to insure Max’s comfort, Dr. Metzger recommended sedation to remove the broken piece and trim back the rest of his nail. Once sedated, Max enjoyed his nap and Dr. Metzger successfully removed the broken parts of Max’s dewclaw. We then wrapped Max’s bandage with love and sent him on his way! 💙🐾

Meet our patient of the week, the brave and beautiful Lucy! 🌟 Lucy had a 1.5cm mass on her left eyelid, which was confirmed to be a malignant cutaneous melanoma after an incisional biopsy. Upon discussing options and seeking a referral, it was decided that the best course of action for Lucy was to undergo a complete removal of her eye, known as enucleation. Dr. Geoff DeWire performed the procedure, and Lucy’s recovery went smoothly. We’re thrilled to report that Lucy has healed wonderfully, her sutures are out, and just look at that smile! She’s a true champ, smiling brighter than ever. 🐶💕

Foster Kitten
This little kitten was rescued by a man who found a group of kids tossing it back and forth outside. The man saved the kitten and brought it to us. We are fostering this girl but she will be up for adoption. She is 3 weeks old.
