Hoof infections are never easy but winter hoof infections are the worst. Shoutout to the Rhinebeck Equine team for their medical help & expertise, assistance from my daughter Brianna & son-in-law Danny, barn staff Terry & Tara and of course my husband. It took a village but Casinoe appears to be recovering from a severe hoof abscess which began to also infect the bone. After establishing a drainage hole the abscess is draining; follow-up x-rays & ongoing antibiotic treatment will determine if the infection has fully cleared. Stay well everyone!
