Wanted to wish this young man a very Happy Birthday. He’s 65 years young and but you’d never know it. I don’t guess he’s ever met a stranger or seen a horse he didn’t like. If ya see him out (which if you don’t come to the barn I doubt you will) be sure to wish him a happy birthday, or send him a 1000 text messages or calls.. he enjoys those too!

ATTENTION POST!!! GIVE US FEEDBACK!

For the last few months I’ve tossed and tossed around the idea to open a tack shop of some sort out of our barn. With that being said, we’re a few months out from possibly opening and getting things up and running. We would offer things that are of better quality and often handmade at a reasonable price. Halters, leads, shoes, shoeing supplies, some saddles, general tack for saddles (girths, breast collars, latigos, etc), headstalls, bits, some clothing merchandise of our farm and friends of ours farms, grooming products, and honestly anything else you could think of. Everything would be quality we’d use or do currently use. We plan to incorporate plenty of help from our friends and family. It would be ran out of our barn offices as we have some to remodel and arrange. We’re currently just looking if there is any interest of or what is the thoughts from some of you all about this. It would be a spot we plan to have that people can come loaf, drink coffee, hang out and watch horses work and just generally relax at. We also plan to have a website and do online business as well!

Give us feedback, like, share, comment, contact us, let us know what you all think! We wanna hear from you!

Just wanted to take a moment out to thank everyone who liked, commented, called, texted, stopped in, and checked on us with the passing of our beautiful stallion, Red. We sure have the greatest friends in the world and I can’t thank you guys enough, it’s crazy to me how that little Red horse had left his mark on so many, wether it was his foals, breeding a mare for someone, or just meeting people on rides with him. I can’t begin to describe the feeling of what he meant to us and what we’re feeling with his departure. Thank you guys again, you have no idea how much it means to us.

From the time I was a young boy I was always drawn to roan horses. There was just always something about those cowboy colored horses that just appealed more than the others. Early 2017 I had decided that it was time we introduced roans into our, at the time show barn. I had looked and looked, and without any luck I had gotten frustrated with the idea. But I got back on Facebook and I seen a small red roan c**t, right around 19-20 months old. He was homozygous like I’d been looking for and he actually fit into my budget. I left the house late on a Thursday night and trucked all the way to Murray Ky to pick him up. I wasn’t sure about any of this, at the time he was just another c**t to me, figured I’d break him, breed some mares later on, and just see what happened. Well when I tell you that late spring/early summer I had that young horse riding, I mean we had that dude really, really riding. I bet he had more miles on him than your neighbors Buick. He quickly became my best friend and my every day horse. Well early that next spring we decided it was time to go to the breeding barn for Red. Through trials and tribulations it was finally time to get our first foal from him, well there was complications and we lost that filly at Park equine from unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances. But as time went on, foals started to hit the ground.. and hit the ground.. and hit the ground. Folks started wanting the foals and wanting to stand outside mares to him. So we did. He started growing pretty popular locally. Not sure how many foals are out there but as this story winds down, I’d say for those that have a foal out of him cherish it. Because today as of 3:15pm, we lost this beautiful stallion for reasons that were out of any man’s control. It came as a shock and honestly a feeling that we can’t describe. He was a horse that many loved and many knew. He was an amazing animal, a great stallion, and a better friend. Go up there and put some roan in God’s herd for us won’t ya buddy?

Rest easy Red, won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t think of you. Love ya, Roan. ❤️

We know you can’t keep them all.. but some, you make an exception for.
