A community-funded, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, Pope Memorial Humane Society (PMHS) is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals in Strafford County, NH and Southern Maine. We are a safe, temporary home for more than 1,000 surrendered, lost, abused, neglected, or unwanted animals each year. We Fulfill Our Mission By:
-Placing animals into caring, forever homes
-Promoting the pract

-Assisting with cruelty investigations and rescue
-Raising awareness within the community about animal welfare
-Encouraging volunteer involvement and support
-Being an active voice and advocate for the safety, health, and wellbeing of animals
-Serving as a comprehensive resource center for the community

It’s the Calvin Chronicles! Always happy to greet anyone who looks his way, Calvin (aka Mr. Floof) is waiting for his forever human to scoop him up and share life together!

At the seasoned age of 11 years old, Calvin is a mellow, very affectionate boy, who seeks gentle rubs, chin scratches and all the attention you have to offer. Long afternoon naps sprawled in the sun are a favorite for him, yet he also likes to squeeze himself into a tiny space for an undercover snooze. He’s a champion twister and talented singer who will keep you entertained! Calvin may enjoy a feline sibling as he has done very well mingling with many different kitties in the playroom.
