To educate, advocate, rescue and rehabilitate. NovaStar Rescue is a small nonprofit rescue located in Dover Arkansas. This is our purpose and mission.

Our main focus is to advocate , educate, rescue and rehabilitate Bully Breeds with a special emphasis on the pitbull. We believe Pitties are the most loyal yet most misunderstood dogs. Whether they come from off the streets or out of the shelters, every Pittie deserves a chance at a good home where they will be loved and cherished as a family member.

One of the things I love most about our rescue is how much our fosters, our volunteers, and our staff love our dogs. They take time every day to show them a little love and attention, something some of them have never known before. Transport is a scary day for some of our Stars but there are always hands on the van to give love and comfort to the scared ones. Just another plus to doing our own transports.

We have some of the sweetest best natured dogs in this rescue,due in part I'm sure to the love and care they receive while here.

Thank you to our team!! We can never do what we do without all of you.

We have lots of volunteer opportunities at NovaStar. The big bonus is the kisses and loving you will get from every dog here. Come out and see us any day between 10 and 4.

Transport is ON THE ROAD!! 24 Stars traveling north. Some to adopters and some to our rescue partners! We can never say thank you enough to all of you and to our great friends in rescue up north for making these transports possible. These Stars are headed to begin their happy ever after! And we are so happy for them!

$5 FRIDAY IS HERE AGAIN!

💲💲 Our biggest need still is getting our vet bills paid down. We have 5 litters of puppies that will be ready for vetting starting next week for some of them. We need to get the bills paid down!!

Jacksonville Aninal Hospital was nearly paid off by generous donations over the last week. Thank you all for that!

Our bill at Parker Vet is still way too high, over $10k. We have to get this paid down or we will seriously have to close the doors until we can, and with winter coming on we don't want to have to do that!

For the person/people wanting to know why I referred to our dogs as "overstock...." and that they must not be valued..... It's a FREAKING JOKE GUYS. A JOKE. Trust me, if these dogs were not valuable to me I would not be living the life I live today. My home sits right in the MIDDLE OF 150 DOGS. So take your no sense of humor self somewhere else!! I'll give you something more to be PETTY about. Jeez people LIGHTEN UP!!

Just a small sample of some of the dogs and puppies at the rescue right now! All of these STARS are ready to go home. Each of our Stars is fully vetted before adoption. This includes deworming, shots, heartworm testing and treatment if positive, spay, neuter, etc.

Most of these pups pictured here have an adoption fee of $150. You can't begin to get all the vetting done on your own for $150. So come out and take advantage of our "overstock" and take a Star home!!

We are here every day from 10 til 4, 7 days a week. Come see us!!

👑 Introducing our Sleeping Beauty Mama and Litter.

👑 Aurora came to us from a shelter. She went into a foster home and very shortly after arriving her precious babies entered this world!

👑 We believe Aurora is Aussie around 2 yrs old. Her babies are Aussie mix but unsure of what they are mixed with. They will be 6 weeks old this weekend and you could be pre-approved to foster to adopt!

👑 Aurora is mama and her babies are Prince Phillip, Samson, Merrywheater, Queen Leah and Maleficent.

WISHLIST WEDNESDAY

I think everyone is feeling a little different today. Whether your candidate won or lost, it's a different feel, some happy some not. But here at NovaStar, we feel the love from these STARS every single day. They don't care who won or lost. They just want homes.

Today we choose kindness and compassion over hate and anger. We have a friend of the rescue who needs a little help today and we would like to be part of that.

This woman has overcome some hard-core addiction issues and other life challenges, and she has succeeded to the point of finally having her own place to live. But.....she has zero furniture or household items. She is literally in need of everything. Dishes, a bed and sheets/blankets, bath towels, pots and pans, a kitchen table and chairs, living room furniture, just about anything you need for setting up housekeeping!

If you can help with any gently used items, you can bring them to the rescue in Dover or msg Terre Wood or Callie Brucks and we will pick up larger items. We would like to get this all to her on Saturday.

If you'd rather make a donation to the Rescue for our dogs, that's ok too. They always need help!! But sometimes the humans need help too.

Thank you all for being here. Please come out and see us during this beautiful fall weather. Meet the Stars, take one for Doggy Day Out, or just spend time with one in our play yard.

UPDATE: Serafina made it through surgery. The abcess was removed and she has been spayed. Keep praying. Pray her body continues to fight. That her body and spirit heal.

Village, we need you!

Serafina arrived in our care two weeks ago with a prolapse. Our vet fixed it, but when the purse string suture was removed she pr*****ed again. Monday the prolapse was amputated.

This evening Sera spiked a temp. An ultrasound was done and a mass was found. It is believed to be an abcess caused by a foreign object being inserted.

Exploratory surgery is happening now. Polly Shore is with her. She is loved. We come to you for prayers and positive thoughts for this sweet girl. We are also facing large vet bills, but we are all in for her. If you can donate it is greatly appreciated. If not, please share and send some love, light and prayers.
