We need a little help today for this little guy. Major was adopted to a family in August. This weekend we learned that his adopter, Mr Thomas Vance, took Major to the Garland County Humane Society and dropped him off with all his things. 🙁

We need to find a ride for Major back to Dover from Hot Springs. If you can help please comment below.

💖Gracie Mae💖

Gracie needs a new foster. When we first saw Gracie we weren't sure she would make it through the night, but we had to try. She’s now healed up from her amputation and needs a long term foster or local adopter while she goes through heartworm treatment. From her short term foster mom:

💕 She's still working on being free in the house and not pottying inside. Is good with cats and kids and female dogs.

💕 Strong willed and takes her a few tries to listen, but is kennel trained.

💕 A big softy crybaby angel and sings the song of her people.

💕She is spayed. She’s a tripod. She’s around a year old. She weighs 43 pounds.

Meet Phantom. She is a lovable 62lbs pure good girl. She is laid back, chill, and even tempered. House trained, crate trained, potty trained, ok with other dogs and kiddos. She is somewhere 3-5 years old. Recently fixed. Up to date on all of her shots.

By adopting Phantom, not only you will reduce the amount of pets waiting to be adopted, you will find a forever loyal friend and a trusted family member.

She loved cuddles, sleeping on the couch next to you, and licking you until your skin shines 😉 She loves to eat, a real foodie

She does not like loud noises. She will run to the comfort of her crate. Long walks? Nope, not this girl! No long car rides for her, she gets car sick (from what I was told.) Snores like a grown man but you will find it adorable 🥰 she is available and I am hoping to have her adopted soon as I cannot foster her long due to my fur babies not accepting her into their pack.

These 2 little sweethearts spent the last month or so with a foster. Unfortunately, even though the foster loved them, they live in a ban area and were afraid they looked too pittie. 😥 So Caroline and Luke are anxiously hoping someone will fall in love with them and come adopt or foster. They came back all excited with their new coats but their excitement soon turned to sad faces when they realized they were back in a pen.

Please come out and meet Luke and Caroline. They are catahoula mixes and Caroline has some impaired vision. They are both super sweet friendly dogs, about 40 to 45 lb. Please help them find a home or a new foster!!

$5 FRIDAY!! This week we are asking for help for the Pope County dogs from the hoarding situation. We are planning a big spay/neuter day, February 10 and 11, to get them all fixed and rabies. We will also give them all shots and wormer and meds for mange and whatever else is needed. We have a few rescues who have offered to help with a few of the dogs. Please help if you can and please send good thoughts and prayers for these dogs and for their owner!

UPDATE. Tyson is heartworm NEGATIVE!! He is approximately 3 years old. He has infected wounds. Skin scrape was negative surprisingly. He is full of infection and hookworms. He is getting a good scrubbing bath today and started on all his meds, antibiotics, prednisone and pain meds.

Tyson would really do better in a foster home while he heals. Please reach out if you can foster this sweet scared boy.

Our first boy from yesterday is at the vet. He looks so sad. He has bite marks and various wounds on top of horrible mange, matting and infection. Hopefully we can fix him up with antibiotics and other meds. Please send all your good thoughts, love and prayers for our boy. We have named him TYSON because he is going to need to be a fighter to overcome all this!!

If he is able to be saved we would love a foster home for him to heal.

Meet Smudge! This boy is between 5 and 6 months old. We think he is a Great Dane mix. He is full of life and has done great at adjusting to a world of blindness. The vet confirmed this week that his eyesight will never return after being hit by a car. Smudge doesn't care! He loves to play with other dogs and sleep with the kitties during nap time. He is working on potty training. He can go upstairs, but navigating going down them has proved difficult, but he will get there!

Smudge is with a foster, but has been neutered and is up to date on his shots. He will need a home with a fenced in yard and no small children who might leave a door open.

So we were called out by PCSO this afternoon for a situation involving approximately 50 dogs. The couple are older and were in a car wreck last November. The husband was killed and the wife was severely injured. She has been in the hospital and rehab ever since. Her son has driven from Conway to Pope County every day to feed the dogs but this is just getting to be too much. All the dogs will be surrendered but we don't have space for 50 dogs obviously. Please no rude comments. The lady is very sad and broken already. These dogs were loved and cared for until their world fell apart last November.

We need rescues to step up and help. If several could split the dogs but nobody can take 50.

We brought the worst one of the adults back to the rescue. She has mange really bad but also the other dogs have beat up on her. She is in very sad shape. We will find out what all is going on with her tomorrow.

We also brought 2 of the puppies back. Their poor little ears look scalded from the mange.

Our plan is to pull all the puppies first to get them vetted and spayed and neutered. We will absolutely be getting the adults fixed but removing them right now is simply not an option until we have somewhere for them all to go.

If you'd like to donate toward the care of these sad dogs it would be greatly appreciated. This is not going to be an easy, quick or cheap fix for these dogs.

I know everyone loves puppies, and I do, too. But this, the beaten down, starved little mommy dog who gave every last ounce of herself to save her puppies, these mommies have my heart. They survived sleeping in an old tire in those bitter cold temps last week and thru all the snow because of Mommy. I can't tell you how many Mommy dogs NovaStar has taken after other "rescues" pulled puppies and left Mommy to die. In a shelter situation they would have euthanized this Mommy as soon as her puppies were pulled. I will never understand how anyone can do that, essentially signing those Mommy dogs' death certificates.

NovaStar never leaves a mom and if dad is around we are taking him, too, as we did in this case.

Please send all your love and prayers for Mommy Bagel and her little Breakfast Menu! Mommy has a ways to go to get healthy but with her puppies now separated from her, she will finally have a chance to put on weight with good food and elimination of parasites.
