The office will be closed July 4th. We will be open for our regular hours Mon-Wed that week. Please be safe and if your fur babies are afraid of the fireworks please keep them inside or take them out on a leash so they cant run off. We dont want them to get lost!

We are experiencing an internet outage. Our phones, diagnostic equipment, card machine etc are not working. Due this we will most likely not be seeing patients this morning. Comcast said they should have it resolved later this morning so we can see patients this afternoon. You can leave a message here and we can let you know if/when we get back to working order. Unfortunately our staff is out sick today. If your pet just needs a basic checkup and vaccines please call, we may be able to see you. If your pet is ill we recommend Night Owl Urgent Care 574-259-8387 or VCA Emergency 269-381-5228. Hopefully everyone will be feeling better tomorrow and we will be operational again. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Heartworm positive dog

This video was taken through our microscope looking at one drop of blood from a recent heartworm positive dog. It shows a microfilaria or "baby heartworm". We highly recommend a yearly heartworm test and YEAR ROUND prevention!

Baby Sparrow is doing great! Thanks to Dr. Wilson, this little guy has a second chance at life! Weighing only 1.1 pounds, Sparrow had to undergo surgery to have one of his eyes removed. It was touch and go for a few days, but we are pleased to report that he is now a spunky, healthy kitten and is thriving in his adoptive home! Here he is begging momma to let his 4-legged brothers and sisters out so they can play 💓

Hi there! I don't have a name yet but I was born yesterday at the Dowagiac Animal Hospital. I didn't want to come out and play on my own, so Dr. Wilson had to come in after me (via emergency caesarian section.) Mom and I are doing great!!
