🩸Why Routine Bloodwork Matters for Dogs & Cats! 💉

Our pets can’t tell us when something feels “off”—but routine bloodwork can help identify underlying health issues. Annual (or biannual) blood tests give us a valuable look inside your pet’s body and help us:

✔️ Detect illness early—sometimes before symptoms appear
✔️ Monitor organ function like the liver, kidneys, and thyroid
✔️ Establish your pet’s “normal” baseline values
✔️ Ensure medications are safe and working properly
✔️ Support safer anesthesia and procedures

☝️Routine bloodwork is one of the most important diagnostic tools we have to keep your pet healthy, comfortable, and thriving at every life stage.

Have questions or want to schedule bloodwork for your pet? We’re here to help!☎️

❄️Winter tips for pet owners!☃️

* Prevent Frostbite: 🥶
Cold temperatures can be dangerous for pets, especially smaller breeds, seniors, and those with short coats. Limit outdoor time during freezing weather and dry your pet thoroughly after walks. Pay close attention to ears, paws, and tails—these areas are most prone to frostbite. Consider pet-safe boots or jackets for extra protection.

* Avoid Holiday Food Hazards: 🍖🚫
Rich, fatty foods like turkey skin, gravy, butter, and stuffing can lead to pancreatitis, a painful and potentially serious inflammation of the pancreas. Resist those begging eyes and stick to pet-safe treats instead. Remind guests not to share table scraps, and keep trash securely covered.

* Watch for Foreign Object Ingestion: 🎄
Holiday decorations and leftovers can be tempting but dangerous. Keep bones, skewers, ribbons, tinsel, and ornaments out of reach. Even small objects can cause choking or intestinal blockages that require emergency surgery.

* Stay Consistent with Routine: ⌚️
With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, try to maintain your pet’s regular feeding, exercise, and medication schedule. Familiar routines help reduce stress and keep your pet happy and healthy.
