Hi all!
This year I wanted to find ways to support our rescue community.
Over the next couple of months we will be collecting donations for !

We will also be posting pups for adoption or looking for foster homes.
If you’ve thought of adopting or fostering, it’s a great idea to get pre approved by a rescue so when a dog comes up you are interested in, you are already set up.

I’ve worked with them in the past and we have some Addicus pups in our crew.

If you would like to donate, treats, food, toys, crates… anything dog related, they can be dropped off at dog camp and I’ll store them. Once we have a collection I will drop them off to the rescue.

We will do this with a few rescues throughout the year.

Most of the dogs will be shared on our stories, easiest way to share from their page.

This little puppy popped up in my memories from a couple years ago.
Captain, I believe.
He was the cutest little dude.
I wanted to share these pics to show you a different way to socialize your puppy if you are worried about not being fully vaccinated.

It can be detrimental to some puppies if you wait 4-5 months to let them out of your yard. Puppies go through important growth phases when they are very young.

Taking them to a store that’s not a “dog” store but is pet friendly is a great way to expose them to sounds, noises, new people…

What you really want to focus on is rewarding them for being calm in these situations. It’s not a petting zoo, a person or 2 can say hi with YOUR permission but if you want an appropriately social dog… this is when you start.

And honestly, if you live on acreage with wildlife moving through, your puppy is more at risk in your own yard than a store.

And of course buy them things! Look at all the studies he got to snuggle up with.

What happened today? Bella Blue practice her leash skills and her place command. Belle practiced watching strangers do things around the property and practiced place during a busy time in the building. Weller started his e-collar work for his recall, you can see my arm go up when I’m starting to apply the collar, and practiced place command. Winnie had a field trip to the park and is rocking her recall. #gooddoginthemaking

Let’s welcome Bella Blue and Weller joining us for some extra training! Bella was working on getting used to the place bed today and slowly making friends with Weller… she was a little nervous. Weller making some steps to work on his recall and being a great assistant to introduce Bella. Working in a little trade up, toy play with Peanut. He had a fave toy so not much trading up but still fun. *it’s best to have the same toy when working on trading up. Dropping my lunch container to test Peanut’s progress. Very good boy! Did not need the e-collar for any of the containers. 👍 #gooddoginthemaking

Belle having her first leash lesson on her training collar. I went with a 15 foot lead, light pressure when she moved away, reward by my side. You can see how she starts to settle in by the end of this lesson. Peanut getting more reps in on not picking things up as well as place with distractions. He did great while I dropped treats and a variety of other fun things. #gooddoginthemaking #gooddoginthemaking
