Thanks Hannah Rucker News and KVUE for visiting us and sharing Aidan's story. A lifelong animal lover, this 17-year old would love to move from foster care to a forever family before he ages out of the system.

Aidan’s affinity for dogs showed as he quickly mastered some of our training exercises. For 37 years we have adopted unwanted shelter dogs and transformed them into lifelines for Texans living with significant challenges. Our dogs find forever homes with the people they assist.

KVUE features children in its Forever Families segment from the Heart Gallery of Central Texas (Partnerships for Children) who need secure and permanent families.

Aidan is a senior in high school about to potentially age out of foster care. He loves animals and art class, and he is interested in possibly joining the Army.

An incredible end to the year - We adopted FOUR new dogs from Harris County Pets for our training program!

Meet our new recruits…

✈️ Journey: A female Retriever/Pointer mix who aced her assessment!
📼 Cassette: An incredibly gentle female Rottweiler. Walks great on a leash and loves to retrieve.
🔔 Jingle: A female Shepherd mix found as a stray
🕺 Groove: A male Shepherd/Husky mix picked up as a stray just two weeks ago. Phenomenal retrievals and leash manners!

Music Class rounding out our strongest year ever on an even stronger note! 🎶

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our wonderful partners from Service Dogs, Inc. to our shelter. They selected four of our incredible pets to join their prestigious program and begin their journey toward becoming future service dogs. 🐶💪

We are so honored to be part of this life-changing opportunity for these amazing pups. Seeing them take their first steps toward a future of helping others fills us with pride and joy. ❤️

Cadillac is acing his Courthouse Facility Dog training and will soon begin work at the Kendall County DA’s office helping children testify in court. Adopted from the Houston SPCA, this former shelter dog will serve as a community hero by helping the DA secure convictions to keep children safe.

A huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Petco Love for their generous $10,000 grant to help sponsor Cadillac’s training.

We adopted Camaro from Houston SPCA in October of last year. He aced his months of Hearing Dog training with an endearing smile that left no heart untouched. Now he’s the new key to independence for his Deaf partner, USAF veteran Julian Rodriguez.
