This is an example of our diet for our herd. When looking for a kibble, you want to make sure the protein is 30-35% and fat is 10-15% for healthy hedgehogs, 8% for heavier hedgehogs and 20-25% for thinner hedgehogs. You want to avoid wheat, soy, corn, and other fillers. We also recommend feeding live insects daily as hedgehogs need the chitin as a nutritional source they do not get in cat food alone. Pinkies are also a good source in protein and other nutrients that hedgehogs can benefit from. We feed frozen pinkies twice a week. We offer cooked meats, cooked eggs and wet cat food- as well a couple times a week for variety. Calcium is a nutrient that most hedgehogs do not get on kibble alone. That’s why it’s important to feed live insects daily because without it, they run the risk of developing MBD(metabolic bone disease). We use a liquid calcium supplement in our herds water once a month. About 1-2 drops at most. We do not want to overdose the calcium and cause issues. If you have any questions regarding our feeding practices, please don’t hesitate to message us! Thank you!
Meet the newest members of Achilles' Quill Hedgehogs! They are amazing hogs and I can't thank Quill Berry Hedgehogs and Cape Cod Hedgehogs enough for these beautiful babies! I love them so much!
Azazel has the sweetest disposition. It's one of our goals to produce babies like this ❤❤
Babies that have temperaments this great are why we do what we do ❤❤
Our Egyptian Spiny Mice had babies! They are 4 days old and rambunctious little things! They were born on April Fool's Day. We can begin handling them in about a week to determine sexes and to socialize them. They will be ready for their forever homes in about 5 and a half weeks. Depending on their sexes, will determine whether or not they will be sold together. We do not require deposits on them but they will be around $50 each. Please message us if you're interested in purchasing one of these interesting creatures.
Cairo and Khepri love their toilet paper tube! 😂😍❤❤
