People often tell me that they would love to have a dog, but don't because they live a very active social life and it would be too much of an inconvenience for them, I wouldn't trade places with those people for anything, they have no idea what they're missing.....

An authentic dog trainer will have at least one if not multiple obedience trained dog for you to meet and see first hand how they work, you want to see a happy dog working both on and off leash, if your "dog trainer" has only dog training theories but no working dogs, you might want to reconsider paying them money for professional services....

Udo my male German Shepherd is 19 months of age, I've been working on his obedience since he was four months of age, at this point he does everything, nice leash control, sit/sit stay, down/down stay and a solid recall, on a scale of one to ten, I put his obedience at about four (4), as time goes on he'll gradually improve to a five. six, etc, with the goal being a perfect ten, I figure another year plus..

Dog training isn't a six week course, it's a life style, Udo happens to be one of those dogs who is slow to mentally mature, so we'll get there when we get there...

I mention these things because of all these ads I see out there for board and train, one of them reads "Flawlessly train your dog in two weeks"

I'm still in business as Beezer Boy Dog Training, but, I'm working exclusively out of the Muttz Dog Lounge in the Kohls Plaza in Colonie..

Another perfect weather day...

I'll be working my guys in the park, leash control, sit/sit stay, down/down stay and recall, using a tennis ball and a tug toy...

They love it and I love it...

For the life of me I'll never understand this electric shock collar dog training crap that's taking place these days...

Not here....

I keep seeing these "smartest breed" lists, who says that one breed is smarter than another, People assume that a German Shepherd is smarter than say a Basset Hound, not true, they were bred to do different things, a Bassett was bred to have short legs and great scenting abilities, and an instinct to work closely with the hunters, their short legs made it possible for the hunters to keep up with the Bassett during off lead tracking, try training a GSD to do that.....
