Are you wondering if your pet will tolerate acupuncture treatment?
Surprisingly, most pets tolerate acupuncture pretty well. ๐พ Dr. Melanie provides a steady supply of frozen baby food, peanut butter or cheese during the appointment. Some pets also prefer massage or scratches during needle placement.
Exercise is an important aspect of treating Osteoarthritis in pets. 30 minutes of low impact exercise like swimming or walking will help support joint health. Daily exercise maintains muscle mass and increases synovial fluid, the body's natural lubricant for joints. Be sure to ask Dr. Melanie how to start an exercise program for your pet. Starting slow and increasing daily is the best way to go!
Dr. Melanie's last patient of the day. Her 2-year-old Labrador and Bassett hound mix named Oliver. ๐ He gets monthly acupuncture to help support his immune system and to keep his muscles and joints healthy. Oliver enjoys his treatments and often naps. Lucky dog!

BIG BABY BAILEY
Dr. Melanie cared for my Big Baby Bailey for several months. She was kind, gentle, and considerate of both Bailey and myself. She explained everything she did before and after procedures.
Bailey had injured the equivalent of an ACL, but was too old for anesthesia. I chose the medical route for treatmentโ physical therapy, water therapy and medication. Dr. Melanie suggested acupuncture. I was skeptical initially, thinking Bailey wouldnโt cooperate. Under Dr. Melanieโs gentle hand, Bailey actually enjoyed the treatments and felt better afterwards. Iโm thankful she was able to get relief.
I have no reservations recommending Dr. Melanie.
