Join our own Dr. G at next week's Maddie's Community Conversations!

We hope to see you on the next Community Conversation on Monday, 3/3/25 at 11am PT for "Affordable and Accessible Care Through Mobile Veterinary Clinics."

Providing mobile, affordable, and accessible veterinary care is crucial for promoting animal welfare and public health. Many low-income and rural areas lack access to traditional veterinary services due to financial, geographical, and logistical barriers. Mobile veterinary units bridge this gap by delivering essential care directly to these communities, ensuring pets receive preventive care, spay/neuter services, and treatment for illnesses. Affordable options reduce economic strain on pet owners, decreasing the risk of abandonment or neglect of animals due to the high cost of care. Furthermore, accessible veterinary services enhance the health of both animals and humans by controlling zoonotic diseases and supporting the emotional well-being of families through the human-animal bond. In this Community Conversation, we will share insights on how you can help bring this service to your community and encourage others to join your mission.

Register for Community Conversations hosted via Zoom: https://maddies.fund/CommunityConvoRegistration2024

If your pet had a Save This Life Microchip, read this before you pay to re-register!

We have been informed that Save This Life Microchip has ceased operations and unlinked their entire database from the national registry. Consequently, if your pets’ microchip was registered with them, scanning will no longer retrieve your owner’s information. Rascal Unit used Save this life microchips until mid 2023.

According to our current microchip company, 24PetWatch, clients can register their pets for free in the 24PetWatch registry. They can visit mypethealth.com and click on the button β€œCreate account from microchip.” If they already have an account, they can enter their email on the left, click continue, and then click β€œForgot Password” to reset their password. Alternatively, they can call +1 (866) 600-4815 if they do not have an email address.

There is also Free Registry Service at http://www.freepetchipregistry.com. This is a FREE database that is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool.

Pet owners who do not have their Chip number handy can visit any veterinary clinic to have their Pet scanned by a Universal Reader. If you are a Rascal Unit client and do not have your pet's microchip information, email us at [email protected]
