During todayβs TNR clinic, one momma cat had kittens that were ready to be born π» Theyβre lucky they were born where they could be helped and not on the street. Momma is going back outside as she is not happy to be around people, and thatβs ok. She will be safer and not get into this mess again β€οΈ
During our last Rascal Unit visit to the Richland County Dog Warden's Office & Shelter, we became aware that many of the dogs that our staff have fallen in love with over the last several months are still there awaiting adoption. The shelter is over capacity and needs help. We made this short video to share what we learned.

This video is a bit gross, so proceed with care...
This kitty had just been at his regular vet to be evaluated for his respiratory disease and weight loss. His vet discussed the possibility of a polyp and started antibiotics. His mom had a pup with us for a spay today and asked if we could evaluate him. DrG and staff determined that there was a polyp and removed two of them under anesthesia. He recovered very well and can now breathe so much better β€οΈ

Almost every dog we have seen today has been covered with fleas. When dealing with flea infestations, you have to treat both the pet and the environment. Otherwise it will just be a never ending cycle.
We use and recommend Vectra 3D for 30-day topical flea/tick prevention and Bravecto for 90-day oral prevention.
We also recommend the Vet-Kem line of products for the home and yard. Theyβre pet friendly and effective.
Fleas are really bad. Please ask your vet about effective and safe flea treatment. At Rascal we recommend Vectra3D for topical use or Bravecto for oral use.
Ask us about our summer promotion: Vectra 3D but 6 get 2 instantly and 3 in the mail.

Today, April 1st, marks 11 years that the Rascal Unit has been on the road. Over 450,000 miles traveled and close to 100,000 animals sterilized throughout the State of Ohio. We want to thank all of the organizers that host our clinics, the groups and vendors that support our cause, and all the pet owners and caretakers that bring their animals to us.
