If your pet had a Save This Life Microchip, read this before you pay to re-register!

We have been informed that Save This Life Microchip has ceased operations and unlinked their entire database from the national registry. Consequently, if your pets’ microchip was registered with them, scanning will no longer retrieve your owner’s information. Rascal Unit used Save this life microchips until mid 2023.

According to our current microchip company, 24PetWatch, clients can register their pets for free in the 24PetWatch registry. They can visit mypethealth.com and click on the button “Create account from microchip.” If they already have an account, they can enter their email on the left, click continue, and then click “Forgot Password” to reset their password. Alternatively, they can call +1 (866) 600-4815 if they do not have an email address.

There is also Free Registry Service at http://www.freepetchipregistry.com. This is a FREE database that is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool.

Pet owners who do not have their Chip number handy can visit any veterinary clinic to have their Pet scanned by a Universal Reader. If you are a Rascal Unit client and do not have your pet's microchip information, email us at [email protected]

Another successful day in curbing the overpopulation of cats and dogs in Hardin County. Thank you Dr G and all the Rascal Unit crew!! You all are amazing 💜

Our own Dr. Valerius as well as Dr. Gonzalez from Rascal Unit drove 3 hours together in blizzard conditions to assist HSUS with their initial assessment of over 400 animals on a fur and urine farm. Wildlife rehabilitators and sanctuaries from around Ohio and states as far as Texas have come together to house as many of these animals as possible. We are always in awe of their dedication and commitment to the welfare of animals. At All Critters, we continue to provide medical care for some of the animals that found temporary or permanent placement around the Columbus area, including a very friendly skunk getting an ultrasound in the images below. While it is very sad that such efforts are necessary in the first place, we hope that awareness from this case will bring about change and better laws to protect animals.
